she's good in any deck with b and creatures, yeah real specific

The third time she eats a rare/mythic noncreature spell more powerful/useful than herself you're going to ragequit and go straight to the deck editor.
If you're not running any noncreature spells more powerful/useful than her then yes, that's a very specific kind of deck and I doubt it's a good one.

I'll be more than happy to eat my words if they reprint Snappy at common.

Anger is a sign of weakness. I'll make my bed and lie in it, then judge her on hard empirical evidence not a kneejerk reaction

Then you're a better human than I am :D

I even removed Duskwatch Recruiter from my Bant Midrange because of that crap, and that's running 24 creatures.

I don't think you understand. You're not using her -2 unless there is ALREADY something in your graveyard that you want. You also seem to have a misconception about cards that put things into your graveyard. If something is in fact put into your graveyard that you cannot get back, it is the same as if it were at the bottom of your deck from the beginning of the game, meaning, not worth worrying about in the slightest.

honestly if you're worried about dumping an instant/sorcery guess what, you can run Baby Jace a card that happens to be a creature Liliana can save :o and she actively helps him flip? :o

It's like they were made for each other. I'd ship it.

Selfless Soul
1W - Rare
Creature - Spirit
Flying

Sacrifice Selfless Soul: Creatures you control gain indestructible until end of turn.

2/1

This is legit good in W Weenie as well as in Spirits (if that is ever a deck). Maybe even Bant Tempo. Looks really strong.

Like white needed more good, playable, cheap creatures... I bet this really ruins a control players day if the sweepers he has in hand are Planar outburst or Radiant Flames.

At least its splashable... 2/1 evasive and Lets you over extend with less risk... Any aggro deck with White can and will use this.

Oh it's not just Planar and Radiant. It stops pretty much any one thing that would destroy.

Is the opponent going to play a burn spell on a single creature? They don't have the option to remove your Kytheon's Irregulars. They can either burn the Selfless Soul directly, or they can burn the Irregulars and let you sac the Selfless Soul. Being the first thing to die puts it one step ahead of everything else that you don't want to have die.

Plus on top of that, it has evasion and can probably smack them for some quick damage. Plus it interacts with things like Rattlechains.

It really doesn't matter at all. Think of it this way that spell you wanted was just as likely to be anywhere else in the deck, every time you put a card you wanted on the bottom, it could have just as easily been something you didn't want. The card you needed could have been 4 down and now you'll draw it next turn. You just don't notice these those occurrences because confirmation bias.

I think you may simply not enjoy randomness or the idea of "wasting" a card. If you're using Liliana, the Last Hope in a delirium deck, you may just be pleased as punch to mill a planeswalker into your graveyard for the extra card type. Besides, she can return your copy of Greenwarden of Murasa to pull back anything else you may have milled away, including Chandra, Flamecaller. Yes, I'm positing her use in a weird 3+ color deck, because I'm weird. She'll do fine next to plenty of deck strategies though, not just zombies or aristocrats or delirium. You might even run her in Superfriends just to have a critical mass of planeswalkers to "deploy" with Deploy the Gatewatch.

Yeah, I admit I was hoping for more, and Tamiyo has me more excited, but Lili will be a workhorse for me as well.

Guys, it's not confirmation bias. If you're running a card that can dump your other cards in the GY it will do just that, and that's not a random occurrence it's a deckbuilding decision.

I understand that you may not care... if the upside is worth it, or if the deck was specifically built with it in mind.

@otrisk: There have been many articles on the subject. Look it up. Fretting over something that gets sent to the graveyard is like fretting that it's on the bottom of your deck.

But yeah, I was kinda hoping Lili would be a 5-cost and a bit more powerful, but I'm ok with her power as a 3-cost walker.

except unless you see every card in your deck milling a card you can't return is no different then having it on the bottom of your deck, it's the text book example of your deck being a random pile of cards

Zombie tribal is looking better every day, now just imagine if they added an actual playable zombie creature.

The fake version may have been boring but it was still better than this. Such a let down.

This version of Lili is playable (heck, I built a paper deck that makes good use of Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded), but the question of how playable is definitely up in the air. Seems like they're being extra careful with their 3-mana 'walkers these days. I might have preferred her at 4 mana with a bit more oomph. Her oath, on the other hand, is perfectly playable if you're running any planeswalkers (otherwise it makes awkward Fleshbag Marauder #4 & 5).

The new white spirit looks pretty good.

Glancing over the spoiled cards so far, it seems like B/R vampires are getting some love and support, and maybe zombies will be a thing if we get any decent cheap zombies. Spirits deserve to be a thing based on the lack of support they have as a tribe across Magic's past. Humans have enough love, but I'm sure they'll keep getting more. Too early to call on werewolves right now.

I wondered if they were gonna print a Oath of Liliana, wish came true :D, liliana is ok least she doesn't have discard ability.

I'm pretty sure the odds of any card being out of drawing range are unchanged, and the odds of milling it are added on top of that.

But um, this is getting to be a lot more debate than I expected.

Yeah, it looks like she supports Delerium more than Madness, which is ok I guess.

Y'know though, with Kaladesh coming up, at least Lili can defend herself from Thopters...

Erm....
Maybe this whole discussion was just a case of where you set the bar for playable cards...

Hey, since you're so scared of Lili's self-mill, why don't you play Possessed Skaab with her.
