Imagine if they re-print Spider Spawning. :plot: :Image The card looks decent in a midrange type deck; it's good that it survives Languish.

This could definitely go in a control deck with tutelage. It's an all around card and you're getting so much value out if you pay .

Using Languish to kill that spider? Silly boy, everyone knows you kill spiders with fire (lightning) Lightning Axe

That new Red card looks pretty good in a variety of decks, not sure if red aggro would want it though.

Sad that the burn spell requires double red, I guess three color decs still have to rely on twin shoot and touch of the void to go to to the face.Considering that most delirium cards we have are creatures the spider should help the dec to recover from sweepers fairly well.

Besides the obvious Izzet Tutelage slot, this is a hilarious answer to Call the Gatewatch and other sorcery speed tutors :D

I'm thinking some sort of Grixis hand destruction/mill deck. Use Collective Brutality to spy their hand, United Resistance next turn if you don't like what you see

Dream scenario:

- Turn 2 Brutality
- Turn 3 United Resistance
- Turn 4 Whirler Rogue
- Turn 5 Mindbender

Mana would be tight, but landing a Sunken Hollow turn 1, Dragonskull Summit turn 2, Mountain turn 3, Island turn 4, w/e turn 5 should do it.

So just to confirm this thing is basically a big 'cancel absolutely everything on the stack ever' card?

Should do. I'm guessing this can still be countered itself.

Sure it can be countered.

I think it's highly unlikely we get this, though, because of the game design.
"How many times would you like to activate that?"
"oh, just one. for now." figure out mana selection for just one shot of whatever you're using.
... watch the timer go down. Ability resolves.
timer starts again for the phase. pause it. activate ability again. dialog to ask how many times. watch the timer start for responses again.
repeat. repeat.

Not that I'm saying the developers won't be up to the task, but I'm saying they're trying to make this version of the game play very snappy. This card does not do that in an online game.

Actually, with the auto-resolve option, the programmers may not be up to the task. That's a lot of strange interactions you could get.

Now there's an interesting question. If you didn't have Tutelage in play, do you use this to hopefully dig down to a copy? Or do you just hit the opponent directly to mill only half that much but cause hand disruption?

Depends I'd say, but generally I'd dig for Tutelage with it. Though it would be a card I would only reluctantly cast as long as I have other decent options.

I don't think you understand how the card works. It resolves once, and that's it. It exiles everything that is on the stack at the time you cast it. And you don't get to pick and choose, either.

What this does is counter uncounterable stuff, counter abilities including on-cast abilities, and counter multiple spells/abilities in those fringe cases where the opponent puts multiple spells/abilities on the stack instead of resolving them one after the other.

this is an instant spell. instant spells go to the discard after you use them, then their ability (usually) stops happening. You know, just thought you missed out on that knowledge

This is the mythic MaRo promised by the way. Loads of people kept asking for a legendary spider and unlike the legendary Werewolf it's what everyone wanted.

Also loving the stack wrath, though it's not often it will get to act as a stack wrath but instead just counter something like Ulamog which has a cast trigger.

I can't see them doing a reprint of spider spawning so soon. Though, maybe they'll do a madness one?

Interestingly the legendary spider's activated ability is the same cost as the flashback for Spider Spawning.

This convinces me even more :P it has the same cost as spider spawning and an activated ability with the same cost as the flashback? Coincidence, I think not.

And Gaea's Revenge.
There's really a bunch of fun to be had with that card though , like Stifle on Westvale Abbey's transformation. Good luck building back up to five creatures :D

Anyway, Wizards hates me so we're not getting the card.
