No you get a copy of the creature except it is a 1/1 flying spirit and a vanilla zombie as big as the creature.
People were talking about comboing it with the new tree on reddit, not sorcery speed only so it might be reliable enough.

I think the important thing here is that they flyer is actually the copy, albeit a 1/1, while the zombie token only has the same stats.

So the flavour is that the "soul" of the card has the actual text, and the body is just power/toughness. Which is funny if you follow Hearthstone, because a certain card's text there was completely changed to the point of utter uselessness, and when the devs were asked why they didn't at least increase the stats/reduce the mana cost to compensate, they answered that they wanted to preserve "the soul of the card".

Anyway, I'm 99% sure Duels isn't getting this card, it's the opposite of new player friendly

That's an interesting idea. Use Soul Separator on Tree of Perdition, and the copy is a 1/1 flying soul token, with the tree's ability. Then you activate that ability and your opponent now has 1 life.

Technically, I think the 1/1 Spirit Flyer would be a copy of that creature, including abilities, whereas the Zombie is just a token with the creature's power/toughness.

You get a flying spirit with the creature's abilities and a zombie with the creature's body.

Mind-body dualism and all that. Flavorful and kinda useless.

One of the meld creatures? Then the spirit would meld and you'd still have the body?

Jhessian Thief just to have a flier prowess card drawer?

Something with a powerful effect when it hits the opponent, like Graveblade Marauder or Ulamog.

Ulamog would be choice, but it's only ending up in graveyard if you're running reanimator or your opponent somehow forced you to sacrifice it.

It would be fun to run in a reanimator deck. Same activation cost as reanimator spells we already have, but on a permanent.

Also cool to use it on a tracker and get a clue generating pumpable flying creature.

Very fun toy to play with. Agree with the sentiment that we won't get it, but hope we do.

Prob too slow for the deck, but I'd like to try it in your landfall shell for getting back embodiment of fury's ability. Also would be nice to get a flying token that pumps +2 with trample on landfall by copying the gold elemental.

Just like how you can't transform with copies, you can't meld with copies either. If you try and meld with a copy then both sides get stuck in Exile.

Now this I can get behind.

This with some ETB creatures seems good; definitely a reanimator card. Use this card targeting Ulamog, then you get a 1/1 flyer that exiles 20 and a 10/10 zombie token.

That tree card that was spoiled yesterday seems to have some use now.

Love it. Flash Emerge was something people where hoping for and it has a great WYC too (not sure what the best shorthand for an on cast trigger is).
