Ko — are you using any folders for PMs besides your inbox? You can have up to four folders*, each of which has a separate quota of 200 messages.

* In your user control panel, go to "Private Messages", then "Rules, folders, and settings". Or maybe this link will work.

Also, if someone gives me a link to the :rip: image I'll add it for you.

I am not but most of my pm's are just classified as "important things" so dividing it up would give me more space but I would probably not be able to find pm's as quickly

as I can now just go back to page 8 if I want to read a really old pm, or page 5 if I want to read a semi-old pm

That actually sounds pretty good since there's several forums I don't read as well. Any chance we can get this?

When quoting posts would it be possible for each quote to show up highlighted in a different colour? Something like Microsoft Excel does for things in the brackets of long equations?
That would make quotes easier to distinguish, preventing mangling of nested quotes and the mess that results when you try to cut out pieces of quotes to focus on the relevant bits.

Just to be clear: in the "post reply" window, or when the post finally gets made to the thread and is being displayed for the whole world to see your typo?

Now, I'm not going to try to pretend I know how this stuff codes, but isn't colored text already coded by the [color=] tag? Is it even possible to do so within the post reply window?

Crap, I am trying to pretend I know this stuff, aren't I?

Post reply window.

That's not really doable, unfortunately. phpbb uses a boring <textarea> HTML element, which doesn't support nice formatting. Adding convenient coloring on nested quotes would be approximately as hard as entirely switching to a full rich-text editor.

Aw, too bad. It's not exactly the hardest thing in the world to live with though.

So another thing I thought of...I would like a "preview" of the thread when I hover over the title. Usually this is the first few sentences in the OP. This is not a major ordeal, but is kind of nice and helps me make a quicker decision on whether or not a post is "worth my time". Some titles on some posts can be strange or misleading (or just simply confusing for me on my end) and it is nice to get an idea of what it might actually entail before I jump right in. Just a small request of small importance!

I can't see other people's posts when making an edit. Sometimes when trying to respond to something complicated, this has been a real issue. Since we can see posts when originally making our post, I thought I would suggest this.

This would be really helpful and is a great idea!

This is possible (obviously, since other places do it). I believe it requires a little piece of java code to make work. But I'll let Welder say for sure.

Thanks for posting it here. As I said over in DotP, great idea!

I can understand your request, but I find personally that it wouldn't help any -- the crowd I hang around make it a point of pride when conversation steers from "What happened in Teeth of Akoum" to "These are the best Magic novels: look for them". What I'm saying is, I would not benefit from such a feature.
