Yes Wizards. Yes. Keep feeding my dreams of a good Orzhov life gain deck. Nice little card.

Oh look, Blessed Alliance lifegain choice now doesn't look so bad.

I hate to double post but a bunch of cards just appeared, some of which I love.

Bugger me sideways! Prowess is not only still getting support in this set but it's good support at that. Definitely a solid candidate for the top of a Izzet Prowess curve. I'm a fan.

Ooh! Looks to be the first two cards in a cycle. I love cycles! I can see both of these being useful just by themselves but with just a dash of self-mill they could become something beautiful. Galvanic Bombardment in particular is just solid - 2 Damage for 1 is already competitive in duels and it just gets more powerful the more of them you cast!

I don't even have much to say here, I just think 'Eldrazi Fish' is probably my favourite creature type ever.

Keep in mind that as EMN is a small set like OGW, we should get a much higher proportion of the cards than SOI. I feel reasonable holding out hope for cards like Unsubstantiate, Blessed Alliance, and Gnarlwood Dryad. As the power level of the game is creeping up with every expansion, it would be nice to see cards like this to plug holes in the current metagame. Then again, we all know Stainless doesn't play their own game, so it's hard to have faith in any decisions based around power levels...

Stainless doesn't decide what gets put in the game...that would be Wizards. Stainless is the programmer...Drew and company decide what gets put in the game.

Good point. Still, looking back on the changes they made with the last patch, I don't have a ton of confidence. Removing Moss and Myr feel like changes that should have just happened during the BfZ era, not after it. And the elf change was just weird.

Ignoring the fish.

Loving the spirit and card draw option, if only it was an instant damn it! :(

Do we still have that enchantment hate card that gains four life?

I like this idea, steal Ulamog and cast an emerge card for just its color cost. Question would you need the full emerge cost available to use the ability or will it dynamically take away the cost of creatures you control? So if you had 1 blue mana open and a 5 CMC creature on board will it let you cast the 5U emerge creature?

They better REALLY fix the hold priority bug.

Take Inventory and Galvanic Bombardment are pretty wicked.

Great cards that get better as the game goes when you draw them. If we get them, it will be hard to justify not putting 4 copies in your deck. Take Inventory's only problem is it is a Sorcery, but for 2 mana, that is fantastic still.

Wizard tribal! Awesome! I can see this in an Izzet or Jeskai shell. Relevant creatures: Stormchaser Mage, Jori En, Reflector Mage, Baby Jace.

Wow the Delver guy has gone real mad, he even summons more delvers and transforms them to insects too. Also each version of Delver goes up in rarity as they move into the next transformation and onto the next set: Original Delver is common, then the SOI one is uncommon and now the EMN one is rare.

He could be interesting at the top of the curve of a Prowess deck. ... that's if a Prowess deck needs it. I guess that will depend on if the meta shifts them down a gear where they aren't just rushing to win in 5 turns.

I'm think more towards him being a win condition in a control deck.

6 mana for a 2/2 zombie and draw out a removal spell. Not terrible. Maybe.
What are some good ways to toss more +1 tokens on this guy?

Well you could always wait until it's reached 1 counter, then cast Long Road Home on it, and use the flicker to bring it back to 5 counters.

Do you even need to? Just let that thing fall apart - the Zombie wants to get into the yard anyway so you can get it back with Gravedigger or Necromantic Summons.
Or to buff Diregraf Colossus.

Two counters left. If you cast it at 1, it becomes 0/0 and dies before the spell resolves.

Those 3 look like Intro Pack rares to me. Nothing exciting or super worthwhile trying to make them work that I'd be interested in at least.

Is this the Green part of the Intro Pack cycle?

4GG
Creature - Treefolk
Whenever a creature you control with toughness 4 or greater dies, draw a card.
6/6

Yes they're intro pack rares along with that blue Spirit Garren linked earlier. The spirit does seem pretty pushed and actually pretty good though.

Also it will return with 6 counters on it if you flicker it with Long Road Home.

That certainly seems like the face of an intro pack. It's got that "ooh, that's interes..... waaaaitaminute, that's not actually that useful, and HOW MUCH TO CAST IT?!"
