So I'm thinking about making a Deva Ardent. I also considered warlord but didn't think the party would benefit fully from one. Is anyone looking for something in particular from the leader role or should I just wing it?
Well to be fair DS, thus far your world is the most laid out, detailed, and homebrew on the boards.
KotS and Mines of Madness are both straight out of the book modules. Sea Dragon Sets Sail the character didnt know each other at start. And though we knew each other for some time in Squinty's game we were still level ones and sorta starting from the ground up.
In this game I've actually had to read into how the races interact, think more into what exactly I wanted my character to do within the world, and start thinking of more in depth backgroup plot points.
I think my character is done save for background if you'd like to give it a look over. I'm still looking through equipment, but I have enough stuff on him to start out.....as mentioned earlier I've not even made it to this level in 4E so I dont know jack about more powerful equipment.

Personally I'd rather everyone play what they wanted and have fun with it rather than try to fit a certain role, but of course I do understand the desire for a rounded party.
With the battlemind and psion being able to push stuff around, people should be able to get out of tricky situations for the most part so as long as a few buffs or temporary hit points keep us chugging at full steam we should be fine. We still dont know what Ty was planning on playing yet either I think ... so we still have room to round off if needed.

Since leaders are mostly support, I always like to make sure he'll actually do so in useful ways. I'll pick through the boards a little bit more before I lock in and start building but that's what I'm leaning towards for now. Personality-wise I'm thinking that having the memories multiple lives has left him bitter and bored. He got into the "fixer" business to liven things up. I'll crack dry jokes and complain about the banality of even highly unusual situations.

The deva are one of my more fleshed-out races, so it would please me.

Can you record your Current/Total Power Points somewhere?
Did you choose a background?
I know the Character Builder does not enforce this, but Versatile Expertise specifies one weapon group and one implement type. Hammer and Unarmed are both weapon groups.
Remember you get a +1 enhancement bonus to your attack and defense rolls and a +1 enhancement bonus to your defenses, so a melee basic attack roll for you should get +5 Con +2 half level +1 enhancement + X proficiency.
I just built your character in the builder and my defenses are not matching up with yours. I assume part of it has to do with armor you haven't put down on the sheet yet, but your AC is 9 higher than the one I have and your Ref is 2 higher. Armor and shield bonuses?
Yeah I was just looking at the versatile weapon stuff... wondering why the builder would allow you to do what I did.
His armor and shield are under 'other items' Scale Armor (7) , Heavy Shield (2).
Will have to look into the Ref save, but the DDI shows it as 15 as well. 15 = 10 + 2(.5 lvl) + 1(bonus) ... have to see where the other two is coming from... does the MW sheet auto carry over the numbers from the mod + 1/2 level column to the arm/ability column ...?

I say play the personality that appeals to you; don't let a little thing like not getting along with people stop you. Honestly, considering the demographic of this party, it would be weird if we did all get along - I mean I'm going to be playing a glutton with a crushingly simple outlook on morality who spends most of his down-time drinking, getting into fights and then limping home to lick his wounds. If I don't rub at least one person wrong I'll be amazed.
Also from my personal experience I tend to find that 'the nice guy' all too quickly becomes 'the bland guy'. Just an observation.

Aye, and battleminds by nature are a bit cocky and arrogant though as mentioned I dont know the specifics of my personality.
We dont need to be the group thats all "sunshine and rainbows and always getting along" we need to be the group that "we're all real people who are part of this group for a reason but may not see eye to eye with a certain person or persons 100% of the time...but when it comes down to it we got each others backs"

I'm going to be really busy with work for the next couple days. I'll get my sheet together on Wednesday morning. In the mean time, I should have enough free time to keep up to date on the forum though.

You get Arcana trained automatically plus four more skills, so you're missing one.
Could you note that Resistive Formula also uses a healing infusion?
Your feats list Staff Expertise and I can't see the whole thing you typed, so I want to make sure you have the right expertise feat, which is Implement Expertise (Staff), i.e., not the Essentials version. Actually, looking at your powers, it seems you did take the wrong expertise feat, since you should not have melee 2 with just a staff.
I had to check Melee 5. How bizarre.
You saw the ruling on Enchant Magic Item? I saw you have stocked up on ritual components, great.
If you're a dwarf-made warforged, your sapience comes from an elemental bound to your body. And you worship the dwarf god of iron?
