You should get Battleborn, and then convince everybody you know to get Battleborn

It is half off on Steam right now.

Battleborne is a bad version of the same game as Overwatch. It does everything just a little bit worse, except for the things unique to it which it just does mediocre to poorly. .... Which since the game was designed to compete with Overwatch directly is just kind of bad all around.

If we don't directly compare it to other games.... it still looks bad. There are multiple questionable design decisions that just put me off playing it further.

I highly doubt it will be that long before you get tired of Darkest Dungeon. The final product wasn't that good once you get to the grinding part. The level restrictions artificially make the game take A LOT longer than it really needed to.

Trying Faeria. Decided to try it since it's $7 and enough people like it enough that it might be worth it. It's basically trying to be Hearthstone but also Duelyst and MTG.

Game is in early access. So some problems:

1) They currently have a bug where if you have more than 3 cards in hand (or is it 4?), then the end turn button covers up the text of the last one. Which makes it very frustrating for new player who does not have pictures memorized in an arena deck. The overlapping card issue also has an overlapping problem with the once per turn action feature. So everytime you try to put a mana tile down you click on the right card in your hand instead. VERY frustraing and you have to move suuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr sllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllowly to get the stupid thing to work right sometimes.

2) Textures keep getting **** up while browsing the collection. Also parts of the page disapear or get added. Basically sometimes the collection client breaks.

3) Game is not good at giving you feedback when you get into a game. Like.... you'll get a message saying you are already in game, try reloading the client AND THEN 5 seconds later it will put you into a game. Smooth.

4) Not a bug but you can get the starter cards the game gives you for free from packs. ..... No seriously. The game's equivalent of Hearthstone's basic collection can be gotten from packs too. But everyone in the world has max copies of these. .... Unless they disenchant them. But no seriously this is annoying because I'm getting a lot of dust from duplicates of the basic set.

Other Things:

The game's arena mode costs about 250 gold to enter. The reward for 3 wins is (for both runs) about 27 gold, 135 dust, and 1 pack. The reward for 0 wins was about 91 gold, 45 dust, and a pack. By Hearthstone standards of gold. <- Ignoring the fact that we are getting gold in increments of 1 but only in arena which drives ocd crazy to the max, this does not feel remotely rewarding compared to the game it's basically ripped the idea from. Ay lso 0 wins felt way more rewarding then 3 wins. The 50G entry fee version of arena only gives gold as a reward, only lets you lose twice, and you need 5 or 6 wins to make it at all worth it. But you get one of these for free every day whereas the 250 G version is buy in only.

Constructed mode is very pay to win. Like, you can pay $10 to get Early Access (everyone has to do that but it's on summer sale right now so $7) and then $50 to get all the cards. <- This would take you about 600 packs. .... The best decks just destroy people.

You are so ******* negative i want to strangle you. Darkest dungeon is all about the flavor and the narration omg, so good.

Is this the part where I point out logical inconsistencies in the universe?

I sat through 5 months of early access that was basically the devs forced to make concessions kicking and screaming to their userbase. <- Played the thing when you couldn't turn corpses off.

It's one of the most flavorful games out there and it's really fun while you are working through the content outside of the Darkest Dungeon. <- But once you start sending parties into that place.....

Comparing Overwatch and Battleborn is like comparing League of Legends and Gears of War... or something.

One is a Team Fortress remake, the other is a FPS MOBA. Very different styles.

I played a bit of Darkest Dungeon at a friend's house. Game is pretty fun.

Battleborn is not necessarily bad. But it LOOKS bad. The actual animation and the amount of clutter in the UI is done poorly, and the really sad part is when you try and compare it to Borderlands, not Overwatch (which they were dumb enough to do on their own).

Okay the single player is awful.

Oh, if you're playing it as a single player game, yeah it's awful.

But that's because it is in no way meant to be a single player game. Even the story mode is supposed to be played in a party.

I like the animation, and I think the UI is far less clunky than it could be for a MOBA style game.

The thing about darkest dungeon is it's tactics are rather one - dimensional...
