The disk is 3 feet in diameter and 1 inch deep at its center. It remains stationary unless you move more than 5 squares away from it, in which case it moves with your base speed once per round until it is within 5 squares of you. You can command the disk to move up to your speed as a move action. If you are more than 5 squares from the disk for 2 consecutive rounds, the disk disappears, dropping whatever it was carrying. Your Arcana check result determines the maximum load the disk can carry.

So, we already know each other, right? I mean, we can just begin taking like we already know each other, and not have to do the whole "hey, who the hell are you?" thing, right?
Ah yes, well aside from introducing characters. Hello to the real people behind them as well!
For ease everyone can just call me Oak (People call me the POKéMON PROF!) I look forward to playing with everyone.
I'm playing Jace (last name pending) a human warden. I see that theres a paladin as well but ill do my best to soak up some damage and keep the badguys off the squishies. Jace is sarcastic and easy going. He likes to joke and not take things more serious than need me. His description is on my character sheet.
Edit : Um, I'm a follower of the Raven Queen as well.
Oh, you went with The Raven Queen for your deity as well? Awesome!

Yup. That's why as soon as I read the Ominous Signs hook, my reaction was an instant "That's getting my vote".
As for Navu'ai's personality - being a paladin of the death goddess doesn't make him the most jocular fellow, but he's easy enough to approach and share a conversation with. He has a tendency to become very silent when deep in thought, but he isn't exactly an oyster. He'll share what he's thinking easily with those he trusts, but he treats serious matters very seriously, and he has a tendency to be tight-lipped around people he suspects might play him false.
Aside from all that, you guys can just refer to me as LM or Manshoon.
EDIT: Oh, one more thing, to assuage any possible fears. Navu'ai isn't a "morality-police paladin" by any means; he won't dictate how anyone should act or think, and he doesn't act holier-than-thou.

Thanks for doing that, Oaken! I wasn't 100% sure how to ask for a skill check in character! Now I'll know for next time! Okay, so I'm not only new to 4E, but to Play by Post games as well.
Haha, yeah Oaken and I have played together on other boards. He knows just how I like my stuff formatted.
I know we're all excited to get started and I'm glad to see the activity right off the bat. But I do have one concern, Zing isnt done with his character yet, which means we can RP and have fun, but we cant get into combat or anything crazy.

No worries! I'm here to help.
Also, I didnt see if anyone else said anything. But Google Docs maps work for me, they're very easy to read gridwise.
I'm gonna cook myself some dinner, and make a few posts in my games across the internet. But ill also try to touch base with Zing so that if he logs on tommorow we can see if he's at least close enough to done to join the party, or if he's okay with just meeting up with you in town.
Edit : Also a few minor notes on skill checks.
1. Notice how OakenHeart detailed what he was wanting to do, not just saying "I make a spot check". Please try to include some sort of intent with your actions, it will keep things smoother in the long run.
2. It case it wasnt clear enough from the recruitment thread, you guys will be actively doing a majority of your rolling. There will however be rolls that I make "behind the DM screen" that you wont be privy to. Since I have everyones sheets I'll be able to add the correct modifiers etc. This is so I can accurately narrate things without interuption to make everyone roll, and to curb meta gaming. If I roll a spot check for everyone to see the trap, I can narrate accordingly. If I ask everyone to make a spot check, it gets you thinking "I wonder whats in here to see".
Thanks all. And once again, welcome to the game and to NGA.

I am reluctant to act in-character with one person still missing, but I want to put out there now that my spirit companion is useful to stand next to. For one, it gives a +1 to your non-AC defenses as long as you stand next to it. And a lot of my extra healing comes through my spirit.
