An eldrazi Werewolf you say?

Hardly proof of anything, but the top 4 of the Steam Showdown were:

The top of the Xbox Fight Club were:

4 color Superfriends
Esper Control
Simic Ramp
Dimir Zombie BRAINNNSSS


So Deathcap Cultivator, Tireless Tracker, and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy were the only humans making an appearance.

Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger showed up in 2 decks and Kozilek, the Great Distortion in 1 deck.

At this point, there isn't any serious tribal deck or theme that is doing great on its own.

So apparently flipable zombie tokens are going to be a thing.

Very much intrigued. Maybe zombies that mutate into werewolves and/or eldrazi? Mutating into weredrazi would be a bit too later edition Resident Evil for my tastes, but it'll be interesting to see where they go with it.

Edit: huh, or maybe none of the above. Card image finally showed up in my phone (took a while to load so I thought they weren't revealing anything specific yet) - and it looks to be a meaningless flip (same everything but picture on both sides). That's a bummer if they don't do anything mechanically with them...

I'm a little confused... Are we getting 2 new sets on release again? I was thinking this new eldrazi would be in the BfZ/OGW line and SOI/EM would be dif stuff. Now I'm realizing eldrazi is in EM, and I don't see anything in the papermagic 2016 release schedule for BfZ/OGW block...

No it's just Emrakul coming to Innistrad. Though MaRo says it's different and a play on cosmic horror with a look at the impact of Emrakul on Innistrad rather than a full invasion of eldrazi, which means it will stick to Innistrad's theme but make it a bit more cosmic and mutated for some of the cards e.g. Bruna and Gisela are mutated and fused together in some kind of warped eldrazi angel instead of Emrakul bringing along an actual floaty tentacle monster friend.

Also duels getting 2 sets has nothing to do with paper. Paper got Oath ages ago and then SOI when we got SOI. There was only a delay in Oath because of failure in competence to code well.

This actually shows part of the idea that it won't be traditional eldrazi flooding Innistrad and still in keeping with the plane's theme.

makes you wonder if they noticed the bug where "put onto the battlefield tapped and attacking" doesn't currently let you choose what they're attacking. ie, you can't put them attacking a planeswalker.
if they had an up to date bug list, and a way to report issues missing from it, I'd feel a lot happier getting a card like that.

It's 2 sets per block, 1 set per every few months. B4Z Block was BFZ and OGW and currently the Innistrad 2 block is SOI and soon to be released EMN.
After that the Kaladesh block starts with Kaladesh followed by Aether Revolt.

Duels got so behind in updates, presumably because of OGW's colourless mana changes that even hurt Magic Online, that the OGW update got push back and was bundled with SOI.
EMN should arrive on time in July unless Stainless really do try with Emrakul and get so confused they collapse under all the work, pushing the update back.

Only the back of the card was revealed, hence why I said the backside of some eldrazi card was revealed.

I'm guessing they want to keep the Eldrazi transform mechanic a secret until the actual spoiler season.

Are those kids crazy?

I'm guessing they where trying to get to the town of Hanweir but now the whole town has suddenly became one giant eldrazi monster. Also for those that don't know, there have been continuous mini stories of Hanweir in the form of newspaper articles throughout SOI and they where basically getting crazier and crazier until finally becoming this thing once Emrakul fully arrived on the plane.

I assure you I'm the farthest thing possible from a "lore fanboy". All that I know about the Magic storyline has been derived from flavor text. I'm still not 100% sure who Serra even was.

Eldrazi are just stupid. Really stupid. As cards. At least they got rid of Annihilator, Destroyer of Fair Play.

13 hasted damage seems good, but I need to see the front side to further see what else it can do.

So does anyone actually know how Emrakul happened to come across Innistrad anyway? I appreciate I don't follow the lore to do anything but take the piss out of it but wasn't it just sort drifting through the void between realities last we heard? Or did it just sort of happen to drift up the a plane currently under the massive plane-wide societal change where most of the important planeswalker were currently hanging out? Because that seems convenient as hell. Or just incredibly lazy writing.

And while I'm here;

• 'Emrakul, the Promised End' is staggeringly underwhelming compared to both it's old self and the more recently redone titans.
• 'Ulrich' is all kinds of boring thought that's probably more to do with being burnt out on good R/G cards at this point.
• 'Coax from the Blind Eternities' is all kinds of meh
• 'Hanweir' actually looks pretty damned solid but I'll reserve judgement until I see what kind of ball-ache it will inevitably be to have the thing transform.

Nahiri summoned Emmy to Innistrad to wreck the place since Sorin let the other Eldrazi wreck Zendikar.. or something like that.

...okay. Next question. How in the Nine Hells of Baator did she manage that? She make it a very nice sandwich stuffed to the brim with all that delicious mana it loves so much? That's the only thing Eldrazi respond to isn't it (wanting to eat all the mana)? What could she possibly do to attract it's attention? I think I preferred 'lazy writing' as the answer.

not entirely explained in the story yet, though it appears Nahiri made the cryptoliths to funnel the planes mana into the creation of the eldritch moon, essentialy a concentrated mana beacon for Emrakul, and with the destruction of the helvault and now the unmaking of Avacyn, Sorins planar wards have been dissolved leaving Innistrad wide open to Emrakul
