I still have to set up my room I reckon. But I've been focusing on my character stuff... as well as being lazy. Holiday weekend, whee.

I think ty may take awhile, and he said to start without him, so we can start without him or if we can recruit a sixth person?

I think starting with whoever is ready would be fine. Since we all already "know each other," it's easy enough to say ty's character came back from being out and about the city and joins up easily.

I'm putting in your horse; does he or she have a name?

Hmm on that note what are we in relation to the city? I mean are adventuring parties particularly common here? Do we have much competition in the whole 'sell-swords for hire' business? Are we simply mercenaries willing to trade our specialized skill sets for coin regardless of the job? We have a pretty decent apartment complex to ourselves and a few levels under out belts so we must be at least proficient at... whatever it is we do. Do we scout for jobs or are we well known enough as problem solvers that people come to us? I think we need to determine exactly what it is we do in Hoi Lan Fa before we settle on a name here.
Sorry, I completely missed this.

At this point, your name is out there. People won't know you by name or anything, but the people who hire people like you are aware of you, or at least their personal assistants do. There are other mercenary groups, thugs for hire, freelance thieves, assassins, private investigators, etc., but your group is a little unique in being a little more generalist and well-rounded. Your neighbors generally are not sure on the specifics of your work besides that you're 'fixers', whatever that means, but they can tell you all may be dangerous people.

I am mapping out one of the possible first encounter areas and building it on Google Spreadsheets makes it all much easier but also makes indicating little things much harder. Like I can't just draw a little ladder or little door knobs.

Is there a way to more quickly add columns, BH? I see the button to add rows at the bottom but not for columns.

Also, I realized I was coloring in your chests and stuff like the space was occupied, but I realized that a single chest or desk against the wall doesn't fill up a space.

Not as of yet. Ugh, I hate coming up with names....

I'll go with Udacha (Russian for Fortune/Luck/Godsend). Udacha is a good name for a horse...

Hi all,
I'm interested in joining to fill the leader role in your party. I'm an experienced player and can typically post a couple times a day. If you're interested in catching me up, I'd be happy to get a character built.

New blood!

Most of the juicy bits can be found in the OP, or in the flavor thread to which it links. First post will show you who's playing what so far, and link to their sheets, we're using Mythweaver sheets, even if we used DDI to build the character.

Quote:
This map is our google docs version of our home base, the tabs along the bottom show the different floors. I'd have to look to see which floors have open rooms still, but I know I havent claimed one yet either.

So far I cant think of anything else super pressing... Squinty has a horse, so theres that.

Right click, then insert one left / right.

When I need multiple, I cheat and just copy like 5 squares side by side then paste them in the far right column so it gives me 4 new colomns.

Kley would be Russian for glue, which I considered, but it sucked as a name.

Great! I'm not at home right now but when I get back to my computer, I can post longer.

The first post should have most important details; BH linked to the building you all work out of. The PCs are part of a company that "fixes" problems.

Yeah, I meant I wanted to be able to add columns en masse like I can add twenty rows at the bottom with one click.

아교 means both 'glue' and 'charming girl'

Hmm, Korean is actually one the in-game languages (well, a language is based on it).... how you know that off the top of your head is a little... disturbing.

Before I lived here, I lived in South Korea for a year. Han'gul is also one of the languages I've tinkered with learning... its by far the most organized language I've studied.

I am home now, but I am not sure what more to say. The first post either states or links to anything you need. The group is currently a gnoll and two tieflings, so that points the group towards standing out more.

We also will have known each other for a bit, so we'll need to work out some communal backstory points, feel free to chime in thoughts and ideas.

Are we just particularly chatty or is there a reason this sign-up thread is so much longer than others?

Chatty. That and I'm enjoying this new character... he's got some amusing things going for him. That and we do have to make up for 5 levels of getting to know each other and hammering details out. Also giving us a house and loads of other information most people wouldn't usually start a game with tends to add tot he discussion. Look at BH's game, or mine, or Mines of Madness, they all began with people just thrown into a situation together. This one is pretty different.
