Thank you all for the feedback and compliments on Inevitability. I have been looking at the new set, and I am trying to tune for a bit more aggro. Guessing Humans will be very strong, people will try Vampires, zombies and Spirits. There is not a ton for this deck, but a few upgrades.
I have been testing this deck tuned more for aggro. The current deck is as follows:
-2 Plains
-1 Island
+2 Evolving Wilds
-1 Oath of Chandra
-2 Oath of Jace
+4 Twin Bolt
I found that vs aggro I was at a disadvantage when on the Draw. I wanted more T2 plays, and since I wanted to keep the burn theme, I went for Twin Bolts. It is working very well so far. I did lose some deck manipulation w/ Oath, and 1 land, which is why I went w/ 2 more Evolving Wilds.
I have tested w/ 2-4 counterspells as well. It was better vs Ramp, but too often they would sit in my hand in other matchups. Definitely something I will consider, especially if the new meta is not as aggro as I am guessing.
If anyone is interested, here are 6 games I just played. Went 4-2 which is about average. Lost to Ramp and GW midrangeish. Won 2 WW, 1 RDW and 1 Midrange.
https://secure.twitch.tv/wintervoidx/v/77208937For the new set, I intend to make the following changes to the current list:
-2 Plains
-1 Island
+2 Evolving Wilds
-2 Oath of Chandra
-2 Oath of Jace
-2 Celestial Flare
+2 Blessed Alliance
+2 Collective Defiance
+3 Incendiary Flow
This adds 15 more points of burn that can go directly to your opponent, and some lifegain. One card I may try is Providence. Normally, I am not that big on cards that only gain life, but that is potentially a LOT of life to gain late game. I would probably Drop 1 Incendiary for a Providence if I were to go that route.
New cards that worry me:
Collective Effort - I think 2 copies will be in every deck w/ white creatures. Not game breaking, but hate to see more enchantment hate.
Selfless Spirit - This will make our removal less reliable. At least it can be anticipated.
Thalia, Heretic Cathar - More of an annoyance, but could delay a sweeper.
Long Road Home - Not sure how much play this will get, but could be very annoying if played on cards like Greenwarden.
Mausoleum Wanderer - This will be used in Spirit decks. Along w/ Selfless, Spirits will be tougher to deal with.
Collective Brutality - Not so much on its own, but bet there will be more attempts at discard decks.
Graf Harvest - This will be tough to deal with. Have to kill everything twice
Whispers of Emrakul _ More discard. Yay
Liliana’s Elite - A tougher to get rid of Graveblade.
Impetuous Devils - Good reason to keep instants
Hanweir Battlements - Haste is bad for the deck...and this will be in a lot of decks.
There are lots of other scary creatures, but nothing that will be much different then dealing w/ the current scary creatures.
I think more people will play delirium, which helps us to mill them. On the other hand, there may be more people using the graveyard as a resource.
I think this deck will survive at about the same level it is now.
