@Eli:

pfffff, don't let what the peanut gallery said stop you from playing. Come join the next game so you can accuse me of being mafia again. Maybe you'll be right a second time in a row.

:V

Also about the CL target error, I was incorrect. I forgot we were on Day 5 (I think the post headers said D4 despite it being D5) which threw me off when CL made his statements (night before last got me).

Plus we didn't exactly cut him loose per se. Fable antagonized me by essentially rudely trying to tell me how to play the game despite me keeping my mouth shut for most of the game and letting you guys do whatever you wanted without trying to direct the game. Having fun isn't lost on me, but I do take offense when I give people (Fable) room to do what they want only to have them throw it in my face that I can't do what I want (bus them since they presented a good opportunity).

So really if anyone (*cough*io*cough*) wonders why I (perhaps both Eli and I) reacted the way we did towards Fable it is because we didn't appreciate Fable's attitude toward his team. I mean sure, it sucks to get bused by your team. But at least you can still win with your team when you're dead. If you're going to get upset with your team doing what they want to do, oh well. Get over it.

Its not a one off, its an element of this community that keeps driving me away. People are very obnoxious with their hindsight information. Prior to this game I hadn't signed up for anything in a while (Spiderman v2 is an exception because it was so interesting), remember I was invited into this game, not signed up.

For the record, I don't mind that we loss. I actually think it was pretty funny, and I'm happy that I made an effort instead of rolling over to die when the hammer failed. Its the BS about how dumb the hammer was and how we should have accounted for a second death in the same day (Because even if we believed fred was a SK, we were lynching him before the night period). Yes, it backfired, and ultimately cost us the game. But it was wildly unexpected, and pretty funny. Peanut gallery acting like it was a foregone conclusion, after the fact, can suck it.

Frustrated that in spite of the many mistakes and lies CL told, no one would take me seriously :V

And I got soooo close to nailing how Fred's role worked. (It didn't require HIM to be lynched, it required his target to be voting for the lynch of the day).

But hey, maybe I do just suck as a player, that's a possibility. But being berated by the dead chat, who see the game differently by merit of being dead, game after game makes me not want to play with you guys.

People have been getting mad at their team mates being idiots since the dawn of time. For you I suppose its just one more set of angry eyes on your back.

You definitely don't suck as a player. You avoided being lynched right away at the start of the Day despite what had happened. It's commendable, and I admire your performance.

Mafia can be like that sometimes. It attracts a lot of stubborn opinionated people who are overeager in expressing their opinions. Definitely not for everyone. I hope you enjoy whatever you spend your time on next. Feel free to come back whenever, I'm sure nobody holds any ill feelings towards you or your plays.

and for the record, you absolutely should have won. The game should have ended after three mislynches. You just got unlucky.

@Rag:

Perhaps wrt to the angry eyes on my back. It'll still be a game to me though despite what happens. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have followed you guys here after Wizards's collapse.

Besides, I'm actively trying to find a way to make you despise me more somehow. I doubt I'll come close to the level of Rome burning, but anything that gets you staring daggers at me will produce the stupidest grin upon my face if I can come up with something.

And I don't have much to say to fable. From what Ive read in dead chat he only started taking the game seriously, and explaining what he was aiming to achieve AFTER he died. While he was alive he was all about chaos and lols and messing with people and we should get the hell out of his way.

Don't play like your team is just there to be your cheerleaders, and your team wont hang you out to dry.

I thought you played fine Eli, and you had a good attempt at a gambit on the end at least. It was hugely uphill battle and at least you didn't give up, so i give you major kudos for that. Not sure what you're really referring to, it felt more like a KoD and Fable going at it thing than anything as far as mafia and stuff are concerned. Tbh, I thought he was just putting up the front in-game, I didn't know he was just as chaotic in the mafia chat as the main chat...some of what was said in there is frankly ridiculous.

Solid fakeclaim too, had me convinced to leave you alone for at least a day, and probably wouldn't have looked at you at all until lylo or so (though I might have thrown a flame on you if mafia started getting taken out too fast XD).

Yeah, I was intent on lynching you day 3 but you completely flipped my read with your spy fakeclaim.

I typed things and they got eaten by a 503 error, woo!

I didn't even really felt like I opposed fable hugely. He was taking risks, and I pointed out tiny issues in his argument so when he flipped scum I hadn't been one of two people giving him a free ride. Which was what fable wanted from KoD and I. To ignore him, even if we saw things going south.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

That was a misread on his part though. That PM was pretty clear.
I gave him every name in the game.

Also, a lot of people are assuming it was the normal mafia win con. There was an extra bit in the role PM.

Quote:
You win when you have 50% or more of the town in control and this cannot go lower under any circumstances.

That should've told mafia that there were possible shenanigans.

And Freddeh, that night that you targeted Fable was the night Fable did the night kill. So when you were at his house, he wasn't. That's where the inconsistency came from.

It's why I normally don't do a dead/spectator QT in the first place.
Golgari_Spy asked me to this time. It was a first for me.

In case its not being received as such - I enjoyed the game right up until the fat lady sang, Scarlet.

Also Fable screwed that shenanigan up. With his claim of traitor we thought that was a factor in the 'and cannot go lower'.

Because when your team finds your chaotic antics to be troubling, and aren't sure how you're going to recover, don't bother explaining it to them, make some rubbish up about being against them. That will make things better.

It was abundantly clear you and KoD weren't interested in anything I had to say after you ignored my request to not go after me. You could have kept going after CL or you could helped out with Fred but instead you and KoD stabbed me in the back so sorry if I wasn't feeling cooperative after that.

that win condition seems really ambiguous

try something like "You win when you have irreducible parity with the town." which covers the hostile third-party scenario when it comes up and can be used in any game so it doesn't automatically hint at a hostile neutral

@Fable: don't let your ego get in the way, i think that ultimately led to the mafia team's downfall and what's happening right now
