And it is very fun! Except when it is random money, then it is not fun at all.

I'd like to add a Wheel of Time mafia game to the queue.
This will be more akin to Zingers game (which was a blast).
I expect I will be done with it by the time it comes along. It will not be a bastard game, however, it will be rather involved.
On a side note, as it gets closer, I would not object if someone who does not want to play wants to review what I have, to ensure it's balanced.

Curious if you mean my most recent game (Hobgoblin Lives) or my much old Time Traveler's Mafia which I ran on Px2 years ago?

Either way, if you're putting together a Time Travel mafia, I have a few ideas that you might want to hear to be inspired by, or whatever.

I was not on Px2, so I have no idea what you're talking about. It's more like Spider-Man (but based on the wheel of time book series) with detailed, complicated roles and such.

Just not as detailed or as complicated as SM2

I've had ideas for some mafia games rattling around in my head for a long time, though I never hosted a game on Px2 due the lengthy queue and not really knowing in advance when RL would permit me to be a good host.

But might as well sign up anyway, so here it is. I got two games which I'd like some feedback on due to their nature. (Being controversial and or bastard)

    Biblical Mafia
    Dwarf Fortress Mafia

Dwarf Fortress Mafia was the first mafia game I played on Px2 and it was also the worst mafia game I've ever played (not design-wise, but in terms of how players played the game [myself included]).

I do not recall that game at all. :(
Anything you can recall about it I would appreciate though.

The DF game I envision would be a fairly complex game mod-wise, but perhaps not so much player wise. The mafia would be lycans or cult or maybe even vampires. Though, mechanic wise they would work like a traditional werewolf style game, not OP cult. Although madness, rampant paranoia and bloody tragedy would be main themes lol.

Also, players would need alcohol to get through the working day. Got something fun in mind for that.

Edit: Also worth mentioning it may be sort of a community outreach game due to how I want to implement migrant waves.

It was a pretty standard game, the flavor was just Dwarf Fortress.

Wonder if I can get enough interest in a game for a 15-man mafia setup.

Theme, old west (USA cowboy to be specific), with roles to fit such a thing.

Also make a 12-man variant just to be safe.

Yeah sure. First thought. Make a "high noon" event. Like, if the day's are a week then every wednesday have a gunfight.

i played a western variant of mafia where after a deadline has passed, the first person to shoot kills their target, ending the day.

It plays depressing music (that's how I think of it) but it's so beautiful. It's a beautiful instrument and it's so. You know. Like really emotional. Yeah. Emotional is the word. :)

Can definitely keep those events and end Day ideas in mind.

Don't want to go too complex with my first game, but I don't want it to be a simple game either. I'll see how things fit together first.

Only if you feel you need more advice. The more people you seek help from, the fewer players you'll have to pull from.

True... Mayans we'll flip roles this next game. I be the game mod and you be the player!

*Evil laughter*

...But seriously now, you're probably right about the player base issues. I don't plan this game being to complex, aside from a thematic mechanic that will come into play. Couple of twists, but nothing bastard.

May make the mechanic public knowledge as it doesn't effect the balance of the teams.

Put me down for an expert game called MuP-fia 2: The Shutdown.

I shall continue Glare's wonderful game.
