squinty_eyes, as an fyi, most clergy of Teleia would be anti-polyamory and see that loose family structure as an invitation for chaos and internal strife. Remember Teleai's inspiration, Hera, and her endless vendettas against her husband's mistresses. Which is not to say you cannot interpret Teleia's teachings the way you have, but if your character grew up in among those who worship Teleia traditionally, he would probably recognize the unorthodox nature of his beliefs.
Hypatus might be more into a structured polygamous marriage, like monarchs used to have (e.g., the Chinese Emperor would have his wives structured so there is the Empress who is the royal consort, and then the First Wife, and so on). Agrios is all about free love and orgies, and Philomedes doesn't care about the structure of your relationships as long as you are in control.
Unorthodox I'll agree to, but I'm sticking with Teleia.
The reason I believe that his wishes for a polyamorous family work is because he's not looking for multiple wives for the fun of screwing as many women as possible. His goals are to raise a large family where everyone is treated and cared for equally. He'll marry as many women and men as he believes he can care and provide for. He will endeavor to give each of them completely equal time and care, never take favorites and protect each and every one of them as if they were his first wife or husband. There is no structure to the relationships he desires, and he doesn't want to be "in control" of anyone's actions. The loosest structure would be that the children listen to the parents, even the ones who are not biologically their parents, with respect, and that all his spouses are faithful to each other. That's the extent of the structure. He wants a polyamorous family because he wishes for everyone to be included in a happy family, and to feel accepted and supported, and not because of any sexual drives.
Teleia might not approve of his actions, but he chooses her teachings in everything he does in regards to finding and cultivating his future family.
