Ever After.DEC

This deck I designed and attempted to model (since noone on here has tried to break this card apparantly) the entire deck to exploit Ever After.
Essentially I wanted to repeatedly use this card and Ignore the "put ever after on the bottom of your library" text and turn it into "use this card every turn and have fun".
Unlike most combo decks, this one is NOT fragile without this cute card i will show how i repeatedly use. I even got it thot knot seered one game and one of my other recurring combos saw me through until Abbey came through and won. The key card that changes the text on Ever After is Tamiyo's Journal. This decklist generates an insane amount of clues. I once had 40+ clues so Journal was free to use every turn.

Deck

3 blisterpod
3 Carrier Thrall
3 Sylvan Ranger
3 Fleshbag Marauder
2 Tireless Tracker
1 Reclamation Sage
2 Byway Courier
3 Ulvenwald Mysteries
1 Pulse of Murasa
2 Smothering Abomination
2 Seed Guardian

All Star of Deck and is essentially Demonic tutor every single turn
2 Tamiyo's Journal
1 Greenwarden of Murasa
1 Woodland Bellower
1 Ulvenwald Hydra Here to get abbey and can get ridiculously big as well as reach
1 Baloth Null This card is key to winning if someone takes out your ever after somehow. Use this guy with greenwarden.... Always decline the exile on death with greenwarden and i usually get back the greenwarden/fleshbag if trying to thin board but always get greenwarden. Then sac baloth,, have cards you want back dead. Play cards get baloth (after saccing) with greenwardens citp... (see the loop?)

1 Ever After Whole point of deck and may put back up to two after that Thot Knot seer incident.... Basically, with tamiyo's journal out this card can be played every single turn for some truely absurd plays while saccing said cards each turn which has synergy with Mysteries

Sac outlets (anti exile to stop disruption)... (of course thot knot seer is no good since in hand and not in play)
2 Evolutionary Leap
2 Nantuko Husk

Land
6 Swamp
9 Forest
2 Hissing Quagmire
1 Westvale Abbey
2 Woodland Cemetery
4 Evolving Wilds More triggers for Tireless Tracker

I like this. Fun to play. I added 1 more foul orchard land to make it 25 land. Because I took out the Rangers.

-3 Sylvan Ranger +3 Elvish Visionary. I think drawing is better, but after playing this deck has plenty of draw so we will see.

-1 Rec Sage -2 Byway Courier. I understand the Sage, but it's utility. The Couriers are expensive for just the ability to investigate. This deck has plenty of that already.

-2 Seed Gaurdian. I never had more than 3-4 creatures in my graveyard.

+1 Nissa, Voice of Zendikar. Great for tokens to sac.

+1 Kalitas Just added him. But life gain and creating more sac tokens should be good. We clear they're board pretty easily with Fleshbag hitting the ground every 2-3 turns.

+1 Baloth Null and Ever After for consistency.

Though I've only played this deck 4 times. I didn't need to use them but once.

I had a guy with a 3/3 land and Avacyn on board. I had Smothering Abominations and a Fleshbag. Sac'd Fleshbag and brought back 2 Fleshbags with Ever After. He was at 2 life. Swung in for the win. But it was win more. I could have won 5 different ways.

Still a fun deck

Edit: Ok with all the sac I added +1 Lilliana, Heretical Healer for Kalitas. I took out a Husk for Ob Nixilis. How can he not be in a black deck?? And I took out one Thrall and Visionary for 2 Deathcap Cultivators. Mana fixing for black/green. Seems to fill he void with the loss of the Rangers.

Edit #2: This deck was screaming for some spot removal so I added 4 x Bone Splinters. Took out Lilianna, 1 Baloth and the last Husk. Can't figure out what else I took out.

Glad someone is toying around with my very rough draft of a deck. Glad you enjoyed the concept enough to post changes (most of them I completely agree on.) Keep me updated on how it does but always remember the spirit of the initial concept was Journal + ever after. Thanks

Meant to tell you though that the husks are a hedge against all the exile in the game currently

But what does sacing to Husk get us if they exile? An extra clue? With no sweepers, you can't reliably trust marauder to keep the board clear. That's why I ended up adding bone splinters. It provides sacrificing and spot removal. The journal is definitely nice, but is usually win more. But you can't get rid of it, it goes to well with the deck.

The real engine of the deck is when you get tireless tracker, Ulvenwald Mysteries and Smothering Abomination on the field.

If they take out a piece, just bring them back with Baloth or Ever After.

With those 3 pieces of the engine on the board, you have unlimited card advantage, a growing Tracker, a 3/4 flyer and an infinite supply of 1/1 chump blockers.

another thing i was toying with an idea on is Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim Could swing in with husk and with the metric ton of tokens this deck tends to generate via mysteries, sac them all... let them block or w/e then sac to Ayli for a lot of life. Or sac Ulvenwald Hydra again for alot of life and then hopefully live the dream and start using Ayli's second ability. Ofc this all means splashing white just for her but could be alot of fun

Because you sac in response to them exiling one of y our key creatures and get it back later. I have a version 2 im working on that cuts out alot of the unneccessary stuff and has more early game stuff.... that one mana skeleton that you can return for 3 mana for instance is pretty nice addition... Currently testing before I post my final vision of this deck. What I am liking more and more is getting 2x fleshbags in grave and mostly using ever after to continuously keep their side clear.

Lol, literally after typing my response to the "why is husk important" my opponent exiled my abomination (very very important piece to engine) and i was impatient by not waiting a turn and playing husk turn before

DELIRIUM TREMENS
2xSinister Concoction
2xVessel of Nascency
2xDeathcap Cultivator
2xMoldgraf Scavenger
2xGather the Pack
3xFleshbag Marauder
2xKindly Stranger
1xNissa, Vastwood Seer
2xInexorable Blob
2xReclamation Sage
2xMerciless Resolve
3xPulse of Murasa
1xNissa, Voice of Zendikar
1xMindwrack Demon
1xKalitas, Traitor of Ghet
1xThe Gitrog Monster
3xNecromantic Summons
1xOb Nixilis Reignited
1xBaloth Null
2xEver After

7xswamp
5xforest
1xWestvale Abbey
2xWoodland Cemetery
2xDrownyard Temple
1xRogue's Passage
2xMortuary Mire
2xHissing Quagmire
2xFoul Orchard

Works good, just wanted to play with the ability Delirium.
18 creatures
4 enchantments
7 sorcery
5 instant
2 planeswalker
24 lands
At first I wanted to use big shots to reanimate like Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger or Plated Crusherdue to all the cards I would have in my graveyard, but it didn't roll well.
I tried to do equals parts between instants, sorceries,... but it sucked
After a few changes this one is not too bad (well I think)
I am not sure to keep Necromantic Summons because it seems useless at T5 with ever after, Mortuary Mire and Pulse of Murasa and it doesn't go well with Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet (exile instead of graveyard... :( )
Baloth Null can be swapped too imo
Next step I will try is
+1 Liliana, Heretical Healer.
+2 From Under the Floorboards
-1 Baloth Null
-2 Necromantic Summons
or
+1 Liliana, Heretical Healer.
+2 From Under the Floorboards
-3 Necromantic Summons
or
+1 Liliana, Heretical Healer.
+2 From Under the Floorboards
+1 Languish
-3 Necromantic Summons
-1 Baloth Null

In fact, I don't need big creatures to finish if the delirium ability is activated (which arrives at
T2 generally or T3)
Any suggestions are welcome but keep in mind I have to keep balances due to the Delirium ability

pifpaf, I love your deck just by looking at the first 5 cards! I hope it can work to some degree. Have you played vs games?

Thank you N.I.B.
The best answer I can give you is "try it and give me your impression"
Never lost to IA (which is something I'm not particulary proud) when I was making adjustments and I only played 3-4 games against real players for the moment so I cannot really tell you.
But for me it works well and at least I have fun with this one.
I think BG has the best cards for delirium ( I'm trying a :w::u::b: deck and it's not as good as I hope :ookay:)
Anyway I think the real deal will be against mill decks

I've played 3 games against the AI with your deck and

+1 Liliana, Heretical Healer.
+2 From Under the Floorboards
+1 Languish
-3 Necromantic Summons
-1 Baloth Null

Just to learn the mechanics of it all. It's kind of a slow deck, many options to consider and choices to make. Doesn't feel that strong and probably folds to aggressive decks. Mid-tier something?

Still, I was having a blast. I'm considering conceeding down to rank 0 then grab this deck and begin a chill climb, while eating ice cream. Preferably Häagen-Dazs Baileys. Or Häagen-Dazs Coffee.

Played some more. Got green mana problems. I'm sacking the Drownyard Temples for a couple of Evolving Wilds.

Played yesterday too
I agree for Liliana, heretical healer and languish.
I Don't know for From under the floorboards cause i didn't pick one for the moment
I prefer keeping Drownyard Temple than Evolving Wilds, maybe because I didn't have any problems with mana and it can help with The Gitrog Monster
As you said it is not a speed deck, but I usually finish wtih a clear board for the opponent.
I'm just beginning to see the subtleties in this deck. the cool thing is you can choose which creature resurrect, especially for Fleshbag Marauder against Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger or creatures with hexproof and Kindly Stranger is more for destroyables creatures. Last time I didn't resurect a Fleshbag Marauder jusst to keep having fourth types inthe graveyard
The choice to have the last type of cards can be a really brainstorming, but I'm bored with too simplistic decks even if they work well.
Anyway if you want to be on the thematic of this deck, you have to take Häagen-Dazs Baileys instead of Häagen-Dazs Coffee :pint: otherwise, this can help you to play better with this deck :D :D

Barney, stay calm  (if you don't, i'm gonna keep my recipes of food cooked with beer who are even better than the famous "poutine")

Colonel ( lemon sorbet , vodka)
Williamine ( pear sorbet , pear brandy )
Scottish Cup ( vanilla ice cream, whiskey):thumbsup:
Islands Cup (coconut ice, white rum, chocolate sauce)
Cup Tarp ( Génépy ice, alcohol Génépy )
Normandine Cup ( green apple ice cream, calvados):thumbsup::thumbsup:
Dijon Cup ( blackcurrant sorbet , blackcurrant )
Vosgienne Cup ( plum sorbet , plum alcohol)
Oasis (blackcurrant ice, green apple, alcohol Manzana apple diced fruit , watermelon )
Jamaican Cup (malaga ice broken pineapple, rum):thumbsup:
strawberry cup (strawberry ice cream , strawberry liquor timber )
Cut orange (orange sorbet , Grand Marnier )

So I did it yesterday, conceeded from rank 40 to 1 (apparently you can't hit 0) and began the climb. I almost regret it, due to how looong time the noobs want to stare at my cards when I play Vessel of Nascency or Gather the Pack. Many use the full timer, watching my cards. And the 'watching damage effects' is rampant at the low ranks. Stahp.

I'm taking out Moldgraf Scavenger and add Sylvan Advocate. By the time you have Delirium you're usually at 5-6 lands anyway, and before that I often wish I could do something with my creature instead of just block. Plus the Advocate doesn't tap, has a bigger body when fulfilled and Moldgraf doesn't help get the deck going anyway, and its 0 power doesn't scare any attackers away on the way to Delirium. Moldgraf's only perk beside having the cool text 'Delirium' printed on it, is one better toughness. And Advocate is nicer to fetch from the graveyard in the midgame plus it helps your manlands.

I've learned to not compulsory cast Gather the Pack after I've reached Delirium.
I've learned to not cast Mindwrack Demon just because I can. Never reached that 4th card type yesterday, and died from it. lol

I'm on the fence about Merciless Resolve. I often end up discarding it because in the early game I want to keep my blockers and lands. Complete Disregard is also an instant, and adds some nice targeted control.

I don't really like From Under the Floorboards in this deck. I usually end up casting it vanilla style, because I can't find a discard method in time. And for 5 mana there are better cards like Priest of the Blood Rite, Necromantic Summons, Gilt-Leaf Winnower. But if it's necessary to stay as a sorcery for Delirium, perhaps another Languish?

Nissa, Voice of Zendikar feels kind of odd in this deck. The only synergy effects she adds with the deck is when she's dead, but you can't pick her up again. I'll probably add a Tireless Tracker instead, for creature based card draw. Or keep her for more testing.

Delirium

Creature(18):
2x Deathcap Cultivator
2x Sylvan Advocate
3x Fleshbag Marauder
2x Kindly Stranger
2x Inexorable Blob
2x Reclamation Sage
1x Liliana, Heretical Healer
1x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1x Mindwrack Demon
1x Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
1x The Gitrog Monster
1x Greenwarden of Murasa

Instant(4):
1x Complete Disregard
3x Pulse of Murasa

Sorcery(8):
2x Gather the Pack
2x Languish
1x Oblivion Strike
1x Necromantic Summons
2x Ever After

Enchantment(4):
2x Sinister Concoction
2x Vessel of Nascency

Planeswalker(1):
1x Ob Nixilis Reignited

Lands(24):
7x Swamp
5x Forest
2x Mortuary Mire
2x Hissing Quagmire
2x Foul Orchard
2x Woodland Cemetery
1x Westvale Abbey
1x Rogue's Passage
2x Evolving Wilds

A Delirium deck should run 4 Evolving Wilds I think, just to get that land in the GY a bit more consistent. Or else Fork in the Road.
