I've noticed this game seems a bit diffrent than past Duals of the Plainswalkers. I remember unlocking cards as you played the campaigns, is that still the case here or do you have to use the coins to buy boosters?
I think it's kind of cool though that you can buy boosters from diffrent blocks, but seems kind of a rip off that you only get 6 cards. What's the best booster block(s)to buy first?
Also in the past their were unlock codes floating around, is their anything like that now?
Thanks!

I think SOI is best first, then OGW, then ORI, then BfZ.

You still unlock all the starter kits from all the campaigns, so certainly do that first. It gives a ton of gold. You can also do all the skill quests (tutorials) for some extra gold. Then start buying packs. don't forget to get your quests in each day. You reroll them if you have one that is 40 gold or a crappy 80 gold one (like the +1/+1 counters one). You get a bonus 20 gold for your first Versus ranked win of the day. so that's good to get each day but it'll be tough for you at first.

There are no codes that I've seen yet, no.

Outside of the quest gold, you have a cap of 400 gold per day that you can earn from matches. you get 15 versus hard AI, 30 versus a real opponent (not a friend match though, they have gotten rid of the ability to earn ANY type of gold from those matches now, you used to be able to get quest gold at least).

Yes, you can get quest gold against AI

Oh and can you purchase or unlock the really good ones or is it just random luck to pull one. I played online this wknd with my meager noob decks and got smoked. Lol. Dudes were pulling all kinds of high end foil cards on me. I didn't stand a chance.

It's all random.
As was said above, run the story mode, you'll get a lot of gold plus all the started box cards. It's surprising how much you can do with starter box cards.
It's probably worth dropping $25 on gold for a bunch of packs. Compare that cost to what it costs for the old games with all expansions, or simply what a new PS4 game costs.

yeah, random packs which make it fun. I've got a baker's dozen boosters left in OGW and there's so much good stuff in there. Chandra, TKS, Make A sTand, some of those Oaths, that Preserver Liliana girl that Jem introduced me to Saturday evening.... can't wait to get these cards.

Once you have 2 complete sets worth of cards, are the things you get from origins better that what you can get from BFZ?
These seems pretty similar in power level.

Yes, Origins is great. Plenty of staple cards in there that will work in any deck. Also, lots of humans, vampires and zombies to augment Shadows.

I'd suggest this order: enough Shadows to get you three good decks. (ie, without needing a lot of rares you can run: human aggro, blue control, vampire/madness, maybe aggro delerium) and then switch over to Origins. Fill both Shadows and Origins together.
The only thing you really need in Gatewatch are the planeswalkers, and while a PW deck is awesome it won't be as good as getting Languish/Ignition/Arrogance/Displacement for control, or (as mentioned) the flip walkers, or pretty much any green rare in origins.
The BFZ rares tend to be feast-or-famine - you won't really NEED those dual lands (they're certainly nice), or you'll get one or two colorless creature rares and need to get more to make it worth a deck. Origins will get you rolling to whole new deck options quickly.

Besides, if we get Eldritch the first week of August and you're still working on unlocking everything, I bet having the bulk of Origins (and Shadows) will mix better with that next set than part of BFZ/OGW does.

Not entirely random: 1 pack gives you 1 Mythic or Rare, 2 Uncommons and 3 Commons (except for the last pack of a set).
You could do a set until you have all the Mythics/Rares you want from that set, and then move to the next and repeat. No need to buy boosters for cards you don't want.
As for set-order, I dunnow. I think it's very subjective. Do you like Eldrazi: BFZ and OGW first. Do you like tribes: SOI first.

Fastest way to earn gold after the campaign and missions, is to play versus the AI with a aggressive deck. Also if you ever plan on buying gold do it early or never, the more cards you unlock by grinding the less worth it is, to use cash for gold.
