My collection is really limited, but I had success using Hunter. Core Hound can be useful for Kill Command, Hunter's Mark makes Arcane Shot as good as direct removal, and Freezing Traps are valuable with all the high cost minions around. I agree that it wasn't a very enjoyable brawl, though.

it may have been because of my mmr, but most of the decks i bumped into were trying to win before turn 7 anyway

This brawl is super weird

I like it less then the "you must be this tall to brawl" one as a deck restriction brawl, which I actually thought was fine. This one feels really arbitrary though with its restrictions.

yeah this seems even worse than the 7+ one. I whipped up a bad Druid deck that I plan to lose with until I get paired against a chump but still awful.

I didn't like it, either: it's a nightmare for those who are low on collection, even more than the 7+ one. I built a Shaman aggro deck which hoped to put Windfury on a high attack minion (Ancient Shade for example) and get surprise lethal damage that way. I pulled the trick twice and it was enough for me: I won't see the brawl again until next week.

Just for keeping track of all the brawls here: last week there was "Too Many Portals" again.

As a player who's invested heavily into Warlock cards, this brawl was a fun deckbuilding challenge. I played goodstuff Zoo with efficient guys and a Doomguard top end. Unlike the 7+ brawl, there are enough basic cards like Acidic Swamp Ooze and Sen'jin Shieldmasta that you can at least compete as a new player, so it doesn't bother me as much.

BGH and SW:D being illegal makes Ancient Shade and Mal'Ganis pretty appealing, your 1-drops and 2-drops are still incredibly good, Ooze lets you punish Weapons which aren't restricted, Voidcaller pretty much can't be silenced. There are probably some tweaks that could be done, but Zoo just seems like the best option by far.

wound up switching to something like this for a quest, won my first game with two salty dogs on the field.

got my second explosive trap and a golden temple enforcer to dust, so not a terrible pack.

I was able to play any deck I would normally play except for maybe 4 spells. It really just felt like I was playing normal Hearthstone.

This week's Brawl: 30 Raven Idols deck. Not bad if you ask me... sure there's heavy RNG involved, but you can choose between spell and minion at least.

I just had the greatest finish ever. After the opponent Assassinated my Deathwing I discovered Nexus-Champion Saraad, which gave me a Lightning Bolt first. On my last turn I was at 1 life, but the opponent was at 14...
Weapon up -> Saraad gives me a Force of Nature.
3 damage (Bolt) + 6 damage (Force) + 4 damage (Saraad) + 1 damage (Daggers) = 14. :D
