You really think we're gonna draft enough artifacts to need to hate draft it? So far, out of this pack we're grabbing maybe one with the Unicorn. I don't know if it's that big a deal.

They're a half-decent body that can wreck stuff. I'd rather somebody else not have that than have anything else in the pack (I am not a fan of that chimera and am not convinced we'll even really run blue)

Hate drafting is generally a terrible idea. But I think we all know these picks probably don't matter.

Hate passing the Reaper though

I can't say I played ashiok much (at all) in draft, but feel reaper of the wild is a better card and we're not really that deep into blue.

Ashiok is pretty bananas Filobel. I haven't played with him at all, but I have played against him a few times, and seen him played a number of times. His +2 is effective at both keeping him alive and setting a 9 turn clock on your opponent. But his second ability is what really shines... and in fact he can run away with the game with it. Turn 1 you mill them, likely gaining a creature. Turn 2 you -X him to get the creature. This buys you time to use his +2 one or two more times to -X again... which gives you yet more time. He's a 9 turn clock that poops out extra creatures every 2 or 3 turns - which will likely win you the game before the 9 turns are up. Blue/Black is also the best place for him to be in, as it's the colour most able to drag the game out.

He's a slam-dunk in my books.

My only experience with Ashiok was in constructed, where I found him disappointing. If this were a real draft, I'd probably pick him just to test him out. So yeah, if he's as good as you say, I won't be sad about this pick. That said, I'll keep my vote for reaper, if only to get additional discussion. Seems like I'll be outvoted anyway, so I see no reason to change it.

Ashiok is AMAZING in limited. With 20 fewer cards to chew through, his +2 alone is a decent clock while making him somewhat difficult to kill byy pumping his "life" rather fast. His -X, playing a bomb that you already took from the enemy, is just insult to injury.

Reaper would be easier to cast at a decent turn for his body if we decide to spash green(assuming we are only splashing blue), not sure about what is the pick, trying Ashiok

I think Erebos's Emissary is the definitely right pick here. Sad to be passing away the Nimbus Naiad, because that card rocks as well, but all the emissaries are killer.
