Cutting the manlands is a mistake imho. Also, I think you need to make room for Ayli. @ Randomname : You never run into evasive aggro ? Not having any languish in a deck chock full of 6+ drops and limited spot removal, counting on 1/1s to gum up the board ? Feels like evasive decks would totally neuter it. Just to respect decks with good evasion in, I'll sub in a languish.

Here' s where I end up:

Azban Friends
Creatures (17):
3 x Sylvan Ranger
2 x deathcap cultivator
2 x Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim
2 x Sylvan Advocate
2 x Tireless Tracker
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 x Archangel Avacyn
1 x Linvala, the Preserver
1 x Woodland Bellower
1 x Ulvenwald Hydra
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

Planeswalkers (4):
1 x Nissa, Voice of Zendikar
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Sorin, Grim Nemesis

Enchantments (6):
2 x Oath of Nissa
2 x Oath of Gideon
2 x From Beyond

Other spells (10):
2 x Declaration in Stone
2 x Anguished Unmaking
1 x Languish
2 x Planar Outburst
3 x Explosive Vegetation

Lands (25):
3 x Plains
4 x Forest
3 x Swamp
2 x Canopy Vista
2 x Shambling Vent
2 x Hissing Quagmire
1 x Isolated Chapel
1 x Westvale Abbey
1 x Rogue's Passage
4 x Evolving Wilds

62 cards??

Yeah I like Ayli. Took out Oblivion Sower and a Languish for her. Put back in the Quagmires.

I cut 2 Oath of Gideon because Ayli is a better blocker, it doesn't synergize with languish; and the text is only relevant once you drop walkers. I you have survived where you can drop walkers, you are already winning the game. I may be totally wrong about this, but to me it feels win-more and to poor at defence compared to the slots I subbed in.
It leaves the 3 drop anemic, but ayli is so potentially powerful that she's an acceptable play t3 when you fix mana. I'd run Oath in 4 color, since there are even more walkers, and the deck needs filler plays since it's mana is worse.

I'm also unsure you need all 3 veggies. might cut 1 for a turn 3 ramp ?

I like it. But I want my 2nd Languish back. I don't think this deck needs 25 lands, but I could be wrong. It has a pretty low curve as it is.

What about Bygone Bishop or Kalitas. At 2 Rangers, my 2 spot has 10 drops. I could use another 3 drop. If I dropped a Veggie for a Natural Connection then Kalitas would fit the curve better.

I've made enough changes that I'm posting a new list. Basically just added Kalitas and Ayli. Took out one Canopy Vista for Woodland Cemetery for Kalitas and Languish. Oh I switched one Veggie for Natural Connection. Haven't tested since the latest change but Ayli has been champ. Great blocker and life gain.

You know I can't think of anything you've ever posted being even remotely not a flamebait. Keep at it.

See this is the type of deck I've been looking for. It can answer any threat. ANY threat. It can sweep if you behind. I know you guys want to cut Languish down to 1, but there's nothing like a t5 Languish that clears their side and leaves me with a 4/5 w/Vigilance.

Every creature is very high value for mana cost. There's card advantage, there's lifegain, there's spot removal, there's ramp for mana fixing and plenty of wincons.

But is this still a control deck? It usually plays late game, but almost every card has great tempo.

Ive been running the deck this evening, but I still had the 3 veggies. Someone should tell me i'm a fool or something (go ahead Winning Team, make a contribution), but only half the games was I even casting them. Often had to do other stuff to stay alive/progress boardstate. I'm interested to know if going t3 ramp wouldn't be just strictly better, for curve reasons.

Deck's very good though. went 13/2 at rank 40, One loss was to a bug exploiter, other to a VERY good izzet prowess player. I was at 17 life with 2 blockers on the table, and a Nissa out; but running out of spot removal. But his Thing still had 3 counters on it. So I tapped out for veggies to cast ulamog next turn, sinceit seemed like the best way to close the game fast. Guy bounced all my blockers and hit me for exacties. Very impressed. GG sir. Now I won't be able to catch any shuteye because I'll be obsessing if I should've played around triple titan's strength an a storcmchaser when I had already seen a copy of both :D

I was holding two in my hand and chose to play a Sylvan Ranger and then an Anguished Unmaking instead. I like your deck, princess.

Lilly as a lifelinker? Cut her, the times that the lifelink matters, you won't have enough black out to drop her most of the time.
Flipped Lilly is amazing when you are ahead, but when you are behind, shes very poor.
Kalitas is more realistic, but still a bit greedy (I couldn't resist either though). Also, if you go the 1 abbey 1 passage route, Ulvenwald Hydra is too good to pass up. Unsure about landcount; 25 seems a bit less greedy to me; it's not like this deck isn't chock full of manasinks.

I'm testing with 3 Natural connection right now. Might be that or 3 ranger 2 veggies, or another permutation.

I copied my previous list and just edited it. Lilliana is not in the list anymore. You are right about the veggies sitting in the hand a lot. But I don't know how many times I've come to turn four with no white mana or no black mana or one of each and couldn't drop what I needed. It will completely fix your mana every time you play it.

And the times that you don't need it is when you might be plane to drop on turn three because you had a man land and a wild to start and your hand.

That's just my thinking on it of course. But it definitely fits the curve better and makes Kalitas a more realistic 4 drop.

So I changed out the Veggies for Natural Connection. Working great so far.

But could somebody please put an LED light above my TV reminding me to not drop Nissa, Vastwood when I have Nissa, Voice on the field!!! I've only made that newb mistake 3x in the last two days...

I started off this deck with just blue, wanting to take advantage of investigate cuz it obviously matched up well with Tutelage. I added in green to get the Tracker and some bulk, but even that didn’t help much, so I sprinkled in white to get more investigations and more control.

Wrong section, this is Abzan not Bant.

Looks good. Check out the Abzan control/midrange thread in the Constructed sub-forum. We have been fine tuning this type of deck for a week or so.

From what I see, I would drop the ramp and add one more land and a full set of Rangers. Add Rogue's Passage and 4 Evolving Wilds and 2 Hissing Quagmires. With Advocate your man lands get a boost. I don't know how many times after a sweep, they've won the game. Your list is only showing 22 lands I think. With a full set of Rangers, 4 Wilds, 2 Deathcaps and the Hydra you have 11 mana fixers.

I'm still running one From Beyond, but may get rid of it entirely. Tamiyos Journal has also been a beast in this deck. Synergizes with Tracker and in the long game can have you tutoring every other turn. The Wilds can also give you two clues for Tracker.

I'm not a fan of Gitrog. How's he done in the deck? I would play Linvala instead. We get behind on life many times.

Also, when you're posting a deck, instead of doing bracketCardbracker if you put bracketDeckbracket at the beginning of your list and bracketSlashDeckBracket at end of your list it will accomplish the same thing without having to link each card individually.

I'm streaming an Abzan-colorless control deck right now, it feels very powerful. I'll post the list in a bit! :)

Here's the Abzan deck I've been using.

Creature (18)
2x Bearer of Silence - This is useful as both removal and as an evasive beater. I notice many Abzan lists leave him out, but I think that's a mistake.
2x Deathcap Cultivator
2x Sylvan Advocate
2x Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim
2x Eldrazi Displacer - Super fun card that can do all sorts of tricks. Prevents Ulamog from attacking, destroys tokens, gives your creatures immunity to spot removal, resets an enemy Westvale Abbey, and can flicker Avacyn and Greenwarden for indestructible/GY fetch.
2x Bygone Bishop - Evasive and helps fuel the deck. I'd like two more Tireless Tracker, but sometimes you have to work with what you get.
1x Liliana, Heretical Healer - With Ayli being able to sac on demand to flip her, her lifelink, and her 3 cost (for Bishop) she fits in extremely well in the deck when I had problems finding her a good home previously. She also plays nice with Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet by giving him that nommy zombie.
2x Tireless Tracker
1x Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
1x Archangel Avacyn
1x Greenwarden of Murasa

Instant (5)
3x Grasp of Darkness - This could be a number of removal spells, but I like the flexibility of this over Reprisal, Gideon's Reproach, or Spatial Contortion. Yes, the hurts, but it's usually not a problem.
2x Anguished Unmaking

Sorcery (3)
2x Declaration in Stone
1x Tragic Arrogance - I played with Languish and Planar Outburst previously. There are never very many times I wish I had a wipe and I was caught in some situations where I did want one, but I didn't want or need to wipe everything. I think playing the single copy here is fine. Also worth saying that this is much better against Superfriends.

Enchantment (4)
2x Oath of Nissa - Digs for key creatures, finds land when I need it, and fills out some awkward starting curves due to tapped land.
2x Always Watching - While not completely optimized for the deck, it's still a very strong card that stabilizes the board in many situations

Planeswalker (4)
1x Nissa, Voice of Zendikar - I'm not sure whether I like this Nissa more than Nissa, Vastwood Seer, but I'm going with it for now. Seer probably wins out in the end though. I don't see these things on curve as much as I'd like to know for certain one way or the other.
1x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
1x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1x Sorin, Grim Nemesis

Land (26)
3x Plains
3x Swamp
3x Forest
2x Hissing Quagmire
2x Shambling Vent
2x Canopy Vista
2x Westvale Abbey
2x Woodland Cemetery
2x Isolated Chapel
2x Sunpetal Grove
3x Warped Landscape

Other random notes
I was playing Lantern Scout for the longest time. While there's only the 2nd Scout, the two Sylvan Advocates, and Gideon, Scout was able to stabilize against aggro decks a considerable amount of times. It might have been a mistake taking it out.

Thought-Knot Seer and Reality Smasher in theory look like things this deck wants, but they tested poorly and were often either dead cards or not enough to flip a game around. Casted on curve, they can be quite deadly and make for a fast match, but there isn't enough colorless land worth playing right now. If only we had Gavony Township.

The Gitrog Monster is something I used for almost the entire climb to rank 40, but took it out after getting to about rank 36. While it has a nice body and a pretty strong effect, I found that even when I drew it, I always preferred playing something else if I could. I eventually cut it to make room for Oath of Nissa.

A consideration could be made for Veteran Warleader. It plays at the 3 cost, there's usually at least two other creatures on your side and the allies that are in the deck don't mind being tapped (due to vigilance or being tokens). If I played it, I'd likely drop the Bearers of Silence and two Oaths for two of this and two Lantern Scout.
