This deck isn't lightning fast, and taps out alot.

I need to learn the lingo, starting with, what does 'taps out a lot' mean?

And what does 'being on the play' mean?

I'm assuming you are serious, so gonna answer.

I didn't thought I was going to get an answer here so I made a new thread and got my answers, but thanks anyway.

One thing I don't see in Werewolves decks and that certainly is in mine is Ulvenwald mysteries It gives you mad draw and let's you be more agressive without feeling bad

Clues are a nice subtheme to WW. Any time you have a clue, it's like you had a sorcery that says: "2: transform your WWs at your end step. Draw a card" which is ok, or "4: transform your WWs etc Draw two cards" (or the instant version "4: draw two cards" which is the standar cost for that...) which is nice...or "6: transform your WWs Draw three cards" which starts to be awesome...and to the infinite and beyond!!

Man, this is a REALLY smrt idea. I don't think I have the discipline to take a turn-off with lycans just to flip them. i got cards that need a-playin'! But if I had a way to spend all my mana and get a benefit, well...now we're talkin'! What a great idea.

The only problem is... how often does your opponent accidentally flip your lycans for you due to not having a spell? I love playing out that option as much as possible since i feel like it would be a rage-concede if he flipped an entire route of those toothy basterds.

Anyway, great idea on how to flip them efficiently. love it.

There, there...you got it :)

And with a Journal, it becomes silly, I tell you... I can tutor every couple turns, sometimes each turn...while making an army of cannon fodder...

Btw...is that problem you mention a problem? lol
I mean...my hand is full, I need a turn to cast 2- 3 spells every couple or so...next turn they will flip again while I refill...

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I believe WW and clues have been designed to go togheter...the best 2 clue cards in all the pool we got are tracker and mysteries, both green...and that's another free clue...wait, I'm becoming obssessed...

Are there any cards that tap opponent's lands? That would be another idea that could combo with lycans really well. Force him not to play a spell, FLIPAROONIE!

Still have'nt done Gruul wolves..... So, how bout discussing a less obvious card .... Ulrich's Kindred. That's a pretty powerful line of text right there. AND it's a manasink. B + ?

Kessig forgemaster is also pretty hard to block, if you manage to flip him.

@Barney : You should only play wolves that you are content to play before the flip. It's like being disciplined on playing abbot t2 in red. Passing turn JUST to flip is offering your opponent a free time walk. This changes if you have manasinks / Flash / Counters though.

I'll second that...even if I do hate Twilight, that deck name amuses me.

Deck performs just as poorly as CGB's Gruul deck. Horrible. 2/5 so far. I'm getting demolished by random jank decks, and when they aren't jank, I just get ulamoged. It loses to 5 mana 2/3s for **** sake. And I got lots of practice with wolves from the demonic flash deck.

Twin bolt not cutting it. WHy didn't we get Moonlight hunt :( deck's just a pile without it.
The green is fine, it's the red part that's just .... not doing it.

I'm so very sad you can't do gruul wolves apparently. yuck. very angry.

man, u sure Covert's list is bad? He is 6-0 against totally decent decks he says. I'll give it a go tonight cuz I hate Edward. He's so smug and doesn't deserve her.

I think CGB is a great player and builder, I just have had atrocious results with gruul mid range on steam so far. I'm not saying his list is bad, I'm saying perhpas on steam the environment isn't conductive for it.

This deck has more synergy and flash, has a grindy plan b and still does poorly. The removal is just too weak. But what good instant removal do we have in those colors ? I can't really go run 3 Lightning axe in this deck, can I ? I'm at the point where I'm thinking 2 axe 3 temper might be the only way to fly.

I did live the dream now though, managed to get arlin kord and nissa on the table vs the jund grind deck, and ended up tutoring Ormendahl for exacties with Tamiyo after losing the board multiple times and facing 2 opposing walkers :D

will test :

+1 axe +3 temper -3 bolt -1 Mysteries (I do like mysteries since it makes ormendahl viable, but I need to make room, and going lower on creatures seems bad)

the izzet matchup is horrible.... horrible... The naya ramp matchup is atrocious....

While watching his stream last night he mentioned he had bad luck with werewolves. I only saw the end part when he stopped playing the deck and started playing Izzet Prowess. He had changed his werewolf deck so maybe the changes he made weren't cutting it. Spotted some of the clue producing cards such as the tracker etc before he moved onto Izzet.

Lone Wolf and Clue (+1 nerdolla if u got the reference)

1 x Lightning Axe
1 x Neglected Heirloom

3 x Kessig Forgemaster
3 x Duskwatch Recruiter
2 x Lambholt Pacifist
1 x Avacyn's Judgment
2 x Twin Bolt

2 x Geier Reach Bandit
3 x Breakneck Rider
2 x Tireless Tracker
3 x Howlpack Resurgence
3 x Ulvenwald Mysteries
1 x Devour in Flames
1 x Nissa, Voice of Zendikar

3 x Pack Guardian
1 x Arlinn Kord

2 x Tamiyo's Journal
1 x Gatstaf Arsonists

1 x Chandra Flamecaller

7 x Mountain
6 x Forest
2 x Cinder Glade
2 x Rootbound Crag
4 x Evolving wilds
2 x Timber Gorge
1 x Westvale Abbey

With the full clue pack on, it's easy to get plenty of draw...which goes ok with Mina, Axe, Flames, Trackers...the removal is on the low side at just 5 cards, let's see

There's synergy errywhere...once you get Tracker or Mysteries on, clues star to appear and you can flip your WWs without crying. Journal's is probably the best card you can draw, srly. That's why there are 4-5 one-offs to tutor, besides PWs

If Tracker is on field, it can tutor for Mina...if Mysteries, for Abbey...and always Chandra + judgement, of course. Tutoring each 2 turns or better is the norm.

Mysteries is really good too...it makes a no-brainer all those situations in which attacking only rents you some damage at the price of losing 3 creatures, for example...now you can do it and get 3 cards and 3 tokens in exchange of that loss...

EW is there for Trackers, sounds silly but it makes a difference, making a ton of clues is what makes this thing work, lol...and I don't need GG/RR at the same time usually, so they don't hurt not being dual

I don't think I can make WWs much better than that, maybe just some adjustments... but minor ones (for example, in the removal )

I'd really apreciate some play&input on it from you all good players (I'm not, I'm afraid...but improving haha) :)

Edited for minor changes

yay I'm glad I didn't get the reference.

I can't pull one of those gayer reach bandits or breakneck riders out of a booster if my life depended on it. It's driving me nuts.

I have all that except 2!! f**ing Howlpacks, lol.

Btw, doing the minitutorials doesn't give you the promised gold... grrr...

Edit: and 5 minutes later after posting that, I got my 2º... yay! I'm just 1 Howlpack down from the list...and 3-4 packs away from finish both expansions :)
