Also I would be willing to pay for rent on the building - it's only some 30-24gp per head which is pretty reasonable all things considered. If nothing else it would ensure we actually go out and do something to keep a steady flow of gold incoming.

What would a good class to multiclass into be fore a Psion? Warlock? Sorcerer? Wizard?

~SE++

Sorry it took me half a day to get round to this but the simple answer is - none. If there is one area 4th-Ed really dropped the ball in it is multiclassing. In that it barely exists. Rather then simply taking a new class as you level up you instead use a feat to acquire watered-down versions of other classes abilities - for example being a 'multiclass' Rogue let's you use Sneak Attack once per encounter... and that it. It almost universally not worth the time and feats required to multiclass in this edition.

This is the opposite of how I understand it. From a pure value pov, a multiclass feat packs a lot for relatively little. You get skill training (normally its own feat) and usually a once-per-encounter bonus. It's small but a lot compared to many feats. A leader class feat will let you add one healing power encounter to your group.

Edit: took out a half-sentence

These are phone responses typed on the bus

@squinty: superior weapons or implements require a feat and I think there's like other reqiirements. I'll check when I get home.

They do require a feat to get the bonus, but if you do not have the feat you can use them without the bonus. Since I'm clearing two feats out from before, I have room to take the feat now. Before I was gonna wait until level 6. ^_^

You still need to pick a free level one ritual on top of your Sending.

You only have four trained skills, not five.

Superior Implement Training is more specific than that. You need Superior Implement Training (Accurate Orb) and not just orbs.

Is the DS Bonus the inherent bonus? Could you label it as Inherent Bonus or Enhancement Bonus, so if you get a +1 accurate orb, you know not to stack the enhancement bonuses?

Everything else looks good!

I'll just grab Tenser's Floating Disk I guess.

Four from my class, one from my background, right? I thought five was correct.

I'll adjust it.

It was the bonus from your 16 answers section. I know it won't stack for the orb and stuffs. ^_^

Yay! I just need gear. Kinda tempted to get a Warhorse....

Oh, no, your background does your choice of two things:

  • +2 static bonus to any one skill
  • add one skill to your class skill list, i.e., makes it available for training

The latter is useful for if you want to be trained in, say, Arcana so you can Detect Magic (that's a thing anyone trained in Arcana can do) but your class doesn't normally let you train it. Your background does not actually give you training.

Okay, just add your floating disk to known rituals, deduct the gold cost of your current gear, buy any more gear, make a name, and come up with a backstory, and you're done.

Random: The Dodekatheon are more popular than I thought they would be. Is there a particular reason? Is it because they are obviously based on the Ancient Greek gods and that appeals to people?

What's a Dodekatheon?

Dodek means twelve, thus a dodecahedron is a 12 sides shape. Thus I believe dodekatheon = "The 12 Gods"

Pantheon meaning all gods, as the prefix 'pan' means all. See panoramic, panamericana, etc

The Dodekatheon is the pantheon of tiefling gods. Two non-tiefling players out of three have been interested in worshiping them.

ETA: If you mean what that word means, then Bounty Hunter has it right. It means "twelve gods" like "pantheon" means "all gods". It is another name for the Ancient Greek Olympians.

I apologize in advance DS. I hesrd how fun battleminds were and wanted to try one, I didnt realize how many immediate reactions they had. I can easily swap to a warlock, but does the party even another defender? Or a meat shield, I think we dmage heavy at the moment

That's pretty much what did it for me...that and, in looking over all of the gods you had listed, that seemed like the one that called out to her.

Haha, I was thinking about that—it's also kind of true for the shaper psion—but I think it's okay since you are pretty responsive so I don't have to worry about rewinding a lot or waiting around a lot. I also think if we are intentional about these off-turn actions, that minimizes the delay, like if you say you intend to use X on the next enemy that triggers it and pre-roll the attack, I can just integrate into the enemy's turn myself.

The party currently does not have a defender without your or any leader.

Yeah, I guess WotC's success with their Theros expansion also shows this. I should also clarify that I described the big gods but people also worship ancestral spirits (Jin), nature spirits, and local or minor gods that players should feel free to make up.

FYI, your character coming from the rural region north of Saifeng would have come from the Northern Territory. This post talks a little more about that area.

I don't see it quite that way. It depends on how you decide to make use of your abilities. And it's only the At-Wills that feel that way, but the encounter and daily spells are pretty powerful depending on how you use them.

? The question is not about the power level of the powers but about off-turn actions. I guess only Psychic Anomaly is the only one where that really applies.

The battlemind is definitely much more off-turn actiony, but I think defenders in general have those reactive mechanics.

FYI - now that I've had some time and ability (thanks DS and BH!), I'm in the process of making some changes - mostly around abilities and feats (again, now that I understand them more).
Should be done before the end of the week
