It's not tempo, guize, read the original article linked...it's "drop 4 flying power and control&stall frpm there"...that's why the curve doesn't matter...oh, and btw, the own author admits it crumbles against thopters...


Ohh.. I remember that guy and that post. It's ok conceptually.. if you count on no/limited interaction from the opponent.

Well, you have the Shrivels and a lot of taping/bounce...it's, above all, an antimoss deck...by when it comes, you have to have 2 fliers...and hope for no twin bolt or thopters, lol
The rest of your creatures are control-chumps-finishers

Let the quest for simic begin ! Let's try something including a flash theme and some amazing cards. Not sure how reliable; feels like it may need more control/tap elements. But then the Ormendahl plan becomes dilluted.

Once it's on board, this deck can lean on counterspells and flash dudes to keep beating in and just win;

Should it ever get into a stalled board state, Tireless Tracker becomes HUGE and digs you towards Ulvenwald Hydra (together with Duskwatch recruiter), which can either Tutor Rogue's Passage or the Demonic prince to end the game.

This looks nasty! I can't wait to play with the various flip creatures we got that want you to hold up counters. :excite::panic::plot:

One point though is wouldn't your line two force your guy to flip back because you cast 2 spells?

Sure, but I just put out 5 flash power t3, 2 of it flying. What's not to love ? Now I can hold up countermagic or his 'human' ability :)

I would probably add colorless to open up Vile Redeemer and Reality Smasher, but I don't really think that's the direction you're going with the deck.

How consistently do you think you could flip Ormendahl?

Ormendahl is plan B. It's mainnly a beatdown deck. Ulvenwald/passage is plan C. but with 3 Pack Guardians and lots of flash dudes + multiple ways to create many bodies again after a whipe? I don't know; it seems realistic.

Wanted Vile redeemer as well, but I felt the mana couldn't take it. Maybe in an all in Ormendahl approach.

Already 2 Steam tournament playrs down (top8 er on a mull to 5 on the draw vs t2 reflector mage on the play! Pack guardians do wonders !). 7/0 so far :p

Been messing around with a simic deck with a small splash into colourless for the abilities of Vile redeemer and Dimensional infiltraitor and some of the power cards, here's where i'm at:

2x essence flux

3x Undercity Troll
2x Dimensional infiltrator
2x Rattlechains
3x Duskwatch Recruiter
2x Sylvan advocate

3x Bounding Krasis
2x Matter Reshaper
3x Spell shrivel
3x Void grafter
2x Vile redeemer

3x Whirler Rogue
2x Pack Guardian
2x Altered ego

2x Reality smasher

6 islands
6 forests
2 wastes
2 hinterland harbour
2 Lumbering falls
2 westvale abbey
4 evolving wilds

Pretty straightforward to play, flash in a couple of guys and beat them down while holding up a counter or another flash guy to keep the train rolling. Biggest struggle i've had with it so far is versus planeswalker.dec which i thought this deck should be good against but Chandra is apparently OP... Used to have a bellower in here because it's got all the best targets here, but i found the deck struggling to hit 6 mana, expecially if you want to discard with the wolf. So far the recruiter and redeemer have been MVP's, with the first being ridiculously easy to flip with an amazing ability on both sides, and the vile redeemer is probably the best "make your opponent sad" card outside of reflector mage.
Highlights have to be copying a reality smasher with the ego (even more fun the more counters you put on it!)

Thoughts? (also the real reason i posted this is to ask what would happen if I essence fluxed an alter ego? Still learning...)

This is what I used from 0-30. Consistent AF if you learn how to mulligan/read your opponent. I took out FlipJace because of Priority glitches, T2 is too vital for me to commit a Jace and not get the 3rd land T3.

As it enters the battlefield again, I'd assume you get to choose a new target to copy, but it won't get any counters, because you didn't pay x.

I'm curious, why lambholt pacifist over sylvan advocate? Sylvan advocate seems like a pretty solid creature.

3x Void Grafter His new buddy who also kills auras and can save your guys...
1x Disciple of the Ring This guy/girl is the only non-flashing creature but with the graveyard full of instants and sorceries, is most useful
1x Stormrider Spirit The deck could use a fat flyer. Without splashing white this is as fat as you get with flash.

Posting a deck idea and would like to get some feedback and ideas. Keep in mind that I have yet to unlock most of SOI (only got like 5%, but have everything else).

The idea is simple, its draw-go with flash creatures and heaps of bounce. It suffers a little from the priority bug but since almost everything is instant speed just cast everything on your opponents end step. Couple of test runs against AI seem promising but needs refining.

Cards to consider when I get them:
Rattlechains 2 more 2/1 flier flashers... Maybe...
Thing in the Ice Fits the bounce theme...
Broken Concentration Will replace countermand
Deepfathom Skulker an alternative draw tech? Could work, this deck has the mana for it...
Vile Redeemer Tried it, didn't like him much. If I want more creatures, 3/3 flash is OK but his other ability is well... irrelevant.
Reflector mage this doesn't have flash but its a pain in the @SS card. Have to splash white and therefore would also throw in avacyn....
Kiora, Master of the Depths May be useful to untap lands for end-step action or to untap your critters but don't think she's useful enough.
Altered Ego This looks like it could be very strong in this deck.

I've seen a few people mention hexproof creatures. Here's the deck I've been running that's pretty fun and consistent:

The mana looks weird, but it's smooth; the off colors power the Converge spells. In an environment heavy on targeted removal, having large untouchable creatures is an advantage, and Altered Ego is awesome.

Also: I love Rabid Bite. It's cheap green removal that seems to be slipping under the radar, but is consistently 3 or 4 damage for 2 mana.

Small Update

Ditched the Hydra for second Drowner, swapped a spawner for another shrivel. Trying to perfect the mana and consistency instead of relying on tech.
