Yeah, if anybody's got a face for radio here, it's me.

Too bad my voice would be more at home as a mime.

No prompt for this one, really. I just sort of needed to write it today.

@Together: Ahhh.

I'm reminded of a Billy Joel song, "It's All About Soul." Particularly, these lines:

Billy Joel wrote:
She turns to me sometimes and asks me what I'm dreaming
And I realize I must have gone a million miles away
And I ask her how she knew to reach out for me at that moment
And she smiles because it's understood there are no words to say

Maybe Beryl and Aloise and Daneera and Kerik can go on a double date some time.

:D

Writing these little A&B fics is like a balm for my soul.

Very apropos. :)

Oddly enough, I sort of got dropped into this story by a different song. I was watching the news yesterday morning, and I found "Numb" by the Pet Shop Boys sort of circling in my head:

Quote:
Don't wanna hear the news
What's going on
What's coming through
I don't wanna know
don't wanna know
Just wanna hide away
make my escape
I want the world
to leave me alone
Feels like I feel too much
I've seen too much
For a little while
I want to forget

And I could imagine Beryl having one of those moments, too, and that's sort of how she wound up underneath the tree.

Fortunately, she doesn't have to be alone, anymore.

Maybe Beryl and Aloise and Daneera and Kerik can go on a double date some time.

Okay, so, here's the thing. I have this other story (or two...) that I really ought to be working on instead, but... I totally want to write this, now. :)

Who knows? We'll see.

Well, I'm going to put you on the spot, now -- if Daneera was going to get all dressy, what would she wear?

Clothes.

Well, apparently she would wash her shirt and trousers in dirty bath water and wear that...

If it were a REALLY special evening, she might buy a new green shirt and brown trousers and wear that.

I suppose if she were really going to go all out, she might wear some self-caught furs.

But she would probably not wear a dress unless she really owed somebody a favor. And never heels. You can't run through the woods in heels...

I would not inflict that on her, I promise.

Anyway, I am totally going to write this at some point. And it is going to be silly. :)

* * *

So, I have a gauntlet that I will leave lying around here: I would like to see a bunny mage.

Mrs. OL has been requesting a bunny mage for some time, and I've had some fairly crazy ideas, but none of them have managed to stick. Maybe the hive mind can do what I can't.

Also, on Easter, it seems appropriate. :)

I look forward to it!

Well, Mrs. OL has been an amazingly positive presence around her, especially considering that she herself has never been around, so I feel I owe it to her to give this a shot. :D

Sadly, this is probably NOT the sort of story she was looking for, but, well, I tried!

Enjoy:

Hrm. A story from Raven. About a bunny mage. Well, let's have a look-see.

The sounds of pursuit echoed in Phufu’s -

Ah-kay then, that told me basically everything I needed to know regarding this story.

Yeah... that. :nonono:

Though I really like the part with Alisa. Granted, my kids like carrots, especially when they get to peel them. But not as much as chocolate.

On the contrary, sir! You got very favorable reviews!

(The meanness to the field mice was looked at a bit askance, but was understood, given the source material. :))

The joke with the carrot was particularly appreciated, given that Mrs. OL shares the human preference for chocolate over carrots. Also, given that I think it was this little Wylie Beckert painting that got her thinking about bunny mages in the first place, I would say it was apropos.

I would throw this for a gauntlet, if I could ever find it!

Those look like buildings at the base of the mountain. Given their state, they remind me of the ghost town where Jackie met Pry for the second time, but the sky's all wrong for that.

The 'state they're in'!
Cracked and broken slabs of marble, I suppose...

Soon, the 'scale birds'( that's a term I learned from Barinellos) will sing,
to trick our minds into witnessing

a greater sense of enormity.

Like strolling through an old ghost town, and pausing
to imagine life,

gone by.

If I was obsessed with 'what people thought' about
my art, and could glean words from eyes that looked

upon it,

a thought I might cherish could be something
like:

"He should lose one layer."

Was I wearing a hoodie?
Is it springtime, yet?

The sun beckons, dying to share his light.

I might do this one myself relatively soon, but, in the meantime...

Write a story wherein Antine uses the Kahvan saber.
