I want to like Hallazeal but I feel like he(?) doesn't do enough on his own. I guess turn 6, play him and Bolt someone. You really want to play him and Lightning Storm, but Turn 8 is a little late to play Lightning Storm. At least he survives Elemental Devastation, which should restore you to full ideally.

Also, the chosen character seems random.

Kripp is gushing all over him, but I'm kind of skeptical as well. Azure Drake is pretty valuable as a 5-drop in Shaman. It's a 4/6 for 5 you pretty much have to deal with as aggro though, or Lightning Storm just ruins you. There aren't that many other attractive spells though, at least not currently. Do you play Elemental Destruction in control shaman? If so, then maybe.

The 'scheming and corruption' part is represented by cultists cards (and, to an extent, every "corrupted" card in the set).

The battlecry is C'thun's signature raid-wiping eye beam. I hated that thing with a passion.

I am somewhat divided on the matter. On one hand, I can see how the long wait can be discouraging. On other hand, the present meta, for all its staleness, has more viable decks than it had at any point in the game's lifetime. I am not convinced that this will still be the case after WotOG comes out.

I feel more annoyance than anticipation at this set. Blizzard's preview modus operandi seems to be randomly drop a card here and there for months while we wait for the set to release. Why not just set up some two, three weeks before release and just get a wave of previews in, through their website or fansites, like Magic does?

It appears he's the objective of a quest in WoW. I haven't heard of him before, though (in the past I played WoW a lot, but always on private servers, and the Vashj'ir zone notoriously has problems on emulators).

Of course Rogues gets pretty much the exact card I want Priests to have.

N'Zoth looks legit absurd, albeit less so with Naxx and GvG rotating out.

Nzoth is awesome, the pirate is value and the warlock thing is super lols

All of those four cards look fantastic, I am going to be renouncing a lot of darkness right when the set comes out I think lol

The pirate is super nice for warrior arena since the best way to play arena with warrior is very aggressively

Yeah, I'm hoping you get to choose. That way it's like a Finley + Elise, which could be powerful enough to spawn an entire archetype.

Also, if you build around him, N'Zoth demands two full boardclears to answer (one to kill summons, second to clear deathrattles). Even at 10 mana, that's a tall order.

This. There are already random effects in Hearthstone don't specifically use the word "random" on the card.* Also, I doubt they'd implement a whole new 8-choice interface just for Renounce the Darkness.

*I'm pretty sure this is true, but I can't remember a good example right now.

P.S. Renounce will probably be my favorite card from the set. It's so silly and unpredictable and I love it.

It probably wouldn't be an 8- choice thing, it may be like discover. Lots of cards have ambiguous wording.

When a card doesn't use the word "random," like Assassinate, it often means "you choose." Granted, this might be a Gelbin Mekkatorque style card, but I'm really hoping it isn't.
