Well, Sidedecks don't really make the game more diverse.

Both Trophers and any half-decent ramp can smash RDW and other inferior rogue decks mainboard. It just results in matches between the two top tier decks more skill based (which is good).

For reals tho. No deck needs siding to beat that W/U flying Jank or B/W enchantment lol. Smash you mainboard outright, GG, RE, 2 EZ 2-0 GG Bro.

Any real magic player knows that sideboarding is the most skill intensive aspect of the game.

It's all starting to make sense now.. the site is becoming a day-care for teeny bopper, MLG-wannabes.

God the drama. :excite:

For what it's worth, I think you should run 2 or more Hakumite's a season.

HKM 1: No sideboards, just an indication of random matchmaking oriented decks.

HKM 2+: Include sideboards since the meta will be more defined.

I know.. I was lurking. Watching the Mosstards get a steaming pile of hot butt-mud all over their face from Wizards was just glorious. They say, "hurr hurr, now I just ramp faster!" but the truth is that they're sad bc they don't get free, easy wins from denying people their mana.. and they're scared to have to actually.. ya know.. play Magic.

They're playing Red and Green. Their concept of MTG interaction equates to "durrr number 20 go down now!"

I'm in as well. And I like the idea of side boards as well, if that makes a difference. Having two ladders, one with and one without could work.

Which is why it's optimal to have everybody streaming.. that way the, "Hurr durr muh connexshun iz da ubr badz.. I no haz Stream gaiz." crowd won't have an unfair advantage.

What really gives it away is non-up-tempo play IMO. There's usually not too much worth going into the tank about.

"Hurr durr Im an American who doesnt have to acknowledge that some people actually have connections so bad that the upload competing with the online game would likely cause network issues and disconnects."

If you guys are worried about stream sniping put a several minute delay on it. Unless you're the most frustrating players ever, you should always be a few turns ahead.

Hell... Make it a tournament requirement that everyone is on exactly a 1 minute delay, so everything still matches up if people want to watch both sides at the same time?

You realize that the issue with stream sniping is always knowing your opponents' hand, right? You'd really only need to peek like 1 or 2 times in an entire match to gain a massive competitive advantage.

That said, there isn't enough motivation to cheat in Magic Duels. We're playing for very little if any money and if you're cheating for the thrill of winning, lmao what's even the point?

Magic's a simple game, 2 people take turns playing cards and in the end Divinevert wins 2-0...

Obvs side decking takes skill. But it doesn't increase diversity.

Anyway, who needs to snipe when you can T3 Thoughtknot lol.

Doesn't this undermine the whole point

Imagine this:

T1 Jaddi/Oath of Nissa.
T2 Hedron Crawler or Deathcap Cultivator
T3 Thought Knot (I not only 'deny' your mana, I punish you for keeping those 2-land hands by denying you the right to play T3 spells).
T4 Moss Explosive Vegetation
T5 Gaia or Overseer or that 5/5 haste or some 3+4.

Keep in mind, T4 you are still playing your T3 spell (prob some 2/2 flying ally or something). You can't even leave mana open for Flair, and you sure as heck can't leave mana open for a counter spell (What are you going to do, counter another gaia)?

Heck, we can even summon that 5UU sphinx, or that sphinx that can't be countered.

Replacing moss w/ a faster ramp was like throwing water on an oil-based fire. Now moss is quicker and stuff.

Edited to be more neutral.

@Chaing: The day you: 1) Stop judging everything you know about me by one game we played and 2) stop assuming every deck I run is suboptimal trash vs you're beloved ramp (the only archetype you play.. according to you) then maybe.. we can actually have a real, adult conversation about something.

Besides.. I whooped your ass once on my wife's account before you ever even knew who I was. You're not unbeatable.. that's some other guy.

Idk. You have a flawed image of Ramp, I'm not sure why.

Nothing personal. I just hate RDW and other Tier 2 decks, but hopefully OWG and SOI will introduce new T1 decks to compete against.

Edit: Lol'd at xxUnstoppablexx
