I'm cool with being pro Canada (oops I just vomited in my mouth), and tbh I'm not overly surprised by the final 4. Next matchups I'm going to go against the grain and predict Hakeem beats CGB, and while I think Peepy v Barney is a coin flip, I'm pulling for Barney in that matchup. This is because, like Hakeem, Barney has the best deck to beat CGB, and consequently, if Hakeem loses, the Barney matchup will be just as exciting in the finals. I think Peepy's deck, which I like a lot, is going to have a lot of trouble if/when CGB keeps him off his double mana requirements. I'd rather see CGB be forced to beat a deck that can't just be shut out with Moss (hence the pro-Barney hedge, in case CGB beats Hakeem - also, Barney is one of two people I've been pulling for since the very beginning when decks were submitted).

If Barney loses, I think CGB might go 2-0 vs Peepy, but even that matchup is far from automatic. If Hakeem and Peepy win, I think the finals are a coin flip. Same with Hakeem v Barney, obviously.

I feel as if I have a good matchup against cgb as iv tested against the deck a bit. I'll get to more on all this later today when I write about it

Barney > CGB (and I really believe Barney can win this one)
CGB >>> Peepy (I really think Peepy's mana base will hurt him here)

Dj perhaps leave the matchups to the people who have actually played them. You are entitled to your opinion. But it's clear you haven't play tested any of these matches or you would know you are wrong in alot of ways...unless you be a troll then we'll played

I agree with pretty much all of it other than Barney > CGB. Barney's deck isn't quite as focused against Gruul as Hakeem's deck is. I really don't favor him in that matchup, more siding slightly towards CGB. Also, I give Hakeem a slight advantage over Peepy since Hakeem's mana base is better and he has some draw power.

It's nothing personal, I'm actually hoping I'm wrong about some of this, but tbh we've already seen some of these matches. CGB barely beat Hakeem the first time around (requiring the nuts draw of all time), and Hakeem beat you. The implication, at least to me, is that Barney probably has a very slight advantage over your deck, and unless CGB gets the nuts draw again, his matches are going to be extremely interesting.

I'm sure you think you've got a straight path to victory in the finals, but I don't see it.

In any case, I'm fairly certain that the top decks made it the furthest. All of these matches are coin flips, except possibly CGB v you (but I admit, I haven't tested that matchup, so your insight and CGB's insight would be interesting here - what's your record in that matchup in testing?). And that's a great thing for this tournament.

But, hey, prove me wrong. I sincerely hope you do, because that would make for the most exciting matches of all, and get me my dream outcome from the very beginning: the biggest mouth takes the crown, and I get to watch the smack-talking festival.

Hakeem and Daniel, can you guys book a time and day for your semi-final? Peepy and I will make sure we play on the same day so it'll be like the Super Saturday of the US Open when you have both mens' semis and womans' finals on the same day. It'll be more fun for the viewers which is what this tournament is mostly about.

Like I said pay attention for what I write later today I'm sure you will enjoy it as I will try my best to be human. I will say I am currently undefeated against cgbs deck in play testing

CGB is out of town, as soon as I hear from him we'll schedule a time.

It goes both ways buddy. I think it's a coin toss. His deck has advantage due to his better board flood ability, yours because we've seen the matchup before and thopters took it. I see it as too close to call, and I'm flip-flopping like an American Presidential candidate.

I want to see them weigh in on this Apple business SO BAD. It's a total minefield for the GOP.
