You know...I've never really appreciated Turbo-Mill until today. I fooled around with it for the first time early in the day and later in the day went 23-1-1 (23 wins, 1 lost to double enchantment hate and a LONG game, 1 game freeze). Here was my decklist w/ video.

http://www.twitch.tv/infamousgemini/v/45323511
4 x Fog
4 x Alchemist's Vial
3 x Hydrolash
1 x Part the Waterveil
3 x Telling Time
1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
4 x Elvish Visionary
4 x Artificer's Epiphany
3 x Sphinx's Tutelage
1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths
2 x Languish
2 x Talent of the Telepath
3 x Possessed Skaab
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
4 x Island
3 x Forest
3 x Swamp
2 x Woodland Cemetery
2 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Sunken Hollow
2 x Hinterland Harbor
2 x Lumbering Falls
4 x Evolving Wilds

I've noticed I never really liked Skaab while testing. 5 mana was just too clunky to get back Fog and I cannot remember doing it often. I often just discarded Skaab to handsize or by some other means. I believe I dropped either 1x Swamp or Forest with 3x Skaabs for 2x Disperse and 2x Displacement Wave.

EDIT: I'm going to kept the deck as is and test again tomorrow...this time with notes. Hopefully I hit 100 games by the end of the week and come up with some great numbers.

I don't understand Part the Waterveil or Kiora. I personally think Waterveil sucks outside of aggressive decks bc you get an extra attack phase.. here it's just like, draw another card+play another land for six mana. What does Kiora do for you? You shouldn't need the mana ramping/fixing/whatever bc you're topping out a 5cmc. I'd be considering 1x Nissa's Renewal to recover after early beatings + thin.. and 1x Greenwarden as the 4th Skaab.. who can actually get a blown up Tutelage back. Disperse isn't bad. A turn 4 Gideon seems pretty rough for this deck to handle (Ruinous Path where for art thou!?)

Your correct. -1 Part the Waterveil -1 Kiora, Master of Waves +2 Disperse!

Also, I outraced an Esperzoa on turn 3. It should be somewhere in the video.

impressive results, Gem. I'll take it for a spin. I hate these types of decks usually but we'll see. I've been killing these decks for as long as I can remember. They usually get me down to 14-22 cards or so before they die.

Nissa works quite well in fog. It's fine to play early for a 4th land and contesting the board if you have no other play. Late game it's another win condition with a 4 turn clock and this deck has the tools to protect it. Sometimes opponents will overextend to clear it which also buys you time for your main win condition.

Can someone post a short guide on how to play with mill decks, the hands to keep etc? I really struggle with them. I think I am overaggressive.

start by getting your land right then take it from there. Experience will guide you after that point on what's good to keep.

Looking at Gemini's top list, I would keep any 3-5 lander or a 2-lander with 3 colours. i MIGHT keep a 2-lander with 2 colours if it had a telling time. MAYBE a Visionary, Vial or Jace.

I like Part the Waterveil with walkers on the table or with ramp. Even if all you do is tick up a walker, draw an extra card and place an extra land it seems like decent value. More often it lets you really mess with their board. Or use it to let you get an ultimate off that they probably had a plan to prevent. Sure it costs 6 or 9 mana, but you untap again. in a way Part is a ramp card too if you have land in hand - which ramp decks often do.

Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way, but to me it seems like a very versatile card for a control deck - close out a game with Ulamog down, get more time to deal with a bad board or just ramp up.

I lost to that card a week ago and I had never seen it before. I had no idea it was even in the card pool.

I didn't see in the stream one Ulamog against the deck. :/

A resolved unalog will wreck a draw-mill deck unless you start running counters. Painful against graveyard fetching.

Played one game last night with your deck, Gem. I won by reducing opponents life to Zero. I must be doing it wrong

I ended up replacing Ob with Nissa and the 3 Hydrolash with Scatter + Displacement Wave. Also, I really like 2 Disperse.

Also, I gauntlet tested this deck against 6 other decks piloted by good players in a best of 3. I went 10-8.

I'm going to do another 25 game streak against randoms to see how it does this time with the improvements.

Retreat to Kazandu and Nissa's Renewal is my Fog tech, with Ulamog as an extra win condition.

I told him all that and if fell on deaf ears. I think he's insane to not run Ulamill.

I haven't played it in ages, have you made any changes at all?

I have a splash of red for Brilliant Spectrum.. but that's about it. I took Radiant Flames out.

I typically only play that deck in 2HG.. Turbo mill is too easy to disrupt in 1v1 unless it goes in a hardcore control deck.. so I play an Esper Control list as my 1v1 Tutes deck.
