Omg, and people are saying Dan got a good draw in that match-up ? How can beast possibly win against that deck ?
We sure see a lot of comments on quality of draw instead of analyzing what should normally happen. Converge is fragile because of mana. Moss will act like a big fat yellow highlighter on this fragility.
I agree. The funny thing is, those 3 moss could easily have been the reason CGB loses, rather than wins. Mega got his 5/5 wanderer down, and then CGB was in actual potential trouble. It didn't go that way, but it easily could have. Anyway, moss will wreck even remotely greedy mana bases, and 5 color converge is about as greedy as mana bases can get. Definitely a prime target for moss, or just LD in general.
True, but beast got the wanderer out in both games. From that perspective his deck was doing as well as he might have expected. CGB though was not about sitting back and just letting that happen. Maybe 3 moss in opening hand could have been his undoing, but it wasn't, besides he had the option to ship it back. He must have been confident enough and so it proved. Maybe giving up the wanderer was best but tricky given he is out on the board. As CGB says some folks had swapped out the Colossus in the Gruul build but he had kept it in. It was his face off v the wanderer that let the moss dictate the remainder.
EDIT: need to check but think the wanderer was 6/6 when it came out I.e. It was cast with 5 colours.
