I'm cheering for CGB just because he was the only one to use the most competetive deck, not some weird construct that would have problems reaching rank 40. Don't get me wrong, the tournament is great, but come on, you guys did pick some weird decks. I never even faced an esper or jund deck because they're so underpowered in this meta
Well since we all play bad decks then, it's pretty competitive anyway I guess.... I think it's awesome like this. People brought to the table what they feel comfortable with and I think that's way more interesting than seeing the same 16 decks. I don't think there are weird decks, I find it weird that you never faced an esper or a jund deck in this meta. You see them less but does it make those decks worse? The thopter decks are doing well in the tournament and I never face those anymore. So in my opinion knowing the meta is important, but not all my decisions depend on it. I always shiver a bit when I hear that you have to play this deck or that one because it's better and more competitive... It probably is, but it sucks all the fun out of the game. CGB will probably win but I'm not rooting for him (no offense CGB, nothing personal!
), lots of people like to see some underdogs win, because those are exciting games. And the underdog can win because you'll always need that little bit of luck at your side with this game.
