I was drinking Blues tonight. I'd much rather have a nice Moosehead Lager though. **** I'm buzzin.

Nah, health issues, unfortunately. It's all good though, I had my fun ;)

If you find it around try Lucky Number 13. I had one the other night and it was fabulous.

Yes, I'm in St. Louis and no, I don't drink the swill.
Schlaflys is the way to go for local beer.

Then again, I've been laid off for three weeks so it's Hamms at the moment for budget reasons.

I need to drive some cheap sleazy beers into me alone, and blast raw, raunchy traditional metal. Might get a case of PBR this weekend and rock out to Midnight, Tales of Medusa, and Saint Vitus.

Our local brewery is called Lagunitas. I mean, there are a few, but it is by far the most popular. I enjoy some of their ales although I think their trendy-ness has reduced their quality (and by quality I mean percentage alcohol - used to be I could get like 13% - now some of their brews are down to 6.) Anyway, I'm about to crack into my favorite beer by them, an American Strong Ale dubbed Brown Shugga.

Also, the first recipe I ever brewed (although I used White Sugar - which is totally legit and doesn't deserve all the hate).

Anybody on here do any brewing? I haven't in a while because school and work and family, but a very enjoyable time it is.

I have wanted to do that for years but the house we live in was flooded in 1993 and there are some vigilant mold spores that we haven't been able to eradicate so I never thought I could make a "pure" beer or wine so I haven't done it in a long time.
We are moving to a new house in January so I plan on firing up the wort.
Maybe I'll create a Homemade Beer thread or something then so we can share recipes.

I've always wanted to brew my own beer and make wine... never did find the time to do it, though.

I wish it were easier to upload pics from phone here

At my old house and the beer wall has grown to at least 350 different beers.

Simple, cheap and inexpensive for me, Bud Light or Natural Light. Never got into the more exotic brews. I do love.the artwork on some of.the funky/seasonal beers. Had one called Trout Slayer, nasty but great to cook brawts in!

I can't drink light beer, it's just nasty.

Devil: 20 years? Good heavens. Anyway, yeah, you should definitely do that. Also, I've a friend who has used some neat "infected yeasts" to make tasty, experimental brews. It's pretty much too late now, but it's possible (not very) that your fungal infestation might have yielded a delicious beverage!

Squinty: It actually isn't that time consuming - I mean, it takes like two or three days but not full days and spread out over a fair amount of time. Even less if you skip bottling. However, I will point out that it is expensive for beginners. I had a falling out with my brew friends and I don't really have the capital to buy all the equipment that they brought to the table.

About how much for a basic set-up?
