and you were definitely in the right chair. but with a Kalitas games can go pretty easy I assume
Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet was useful but my victories were due to being able to remove early threats, deny the opponent the use of his late game cards and have some backup removal for late game. Everytime I cast
Witness the End, my opponents groaned. In round 2, I removed
Kozilek, the Great Distortion with
Transgress the Mind, then forced him to discard it the next game with
Witness the End. I think a lot of people underestimate the power of removing cards in limited. By turn 4, they usually have 2 to 4 cards left, and they tend to be their finishers or the plan they're going towards. Making them discard 2 really messes up their stuff.
I won mainly due to Walls on ground and Flyers to pass over. When I was drafting, I remember what Zlehtnoba said in my previous draft thread:
And your best cards are control, not aggro. The Wall is especially great in a stall-the-ground, win-in-the-air strategy. Basically, you attack in the air, block on the ground, and remove any fliers/bombs they manage to play. Ups.
Untamed Hunger. That is another easy cut. It might even be playable in some decks, against some opponents, but not here. You have much better cards to play.
(This from an old man who finally gave in to his control soul and disdains aggro with a passion. Maybe somebody can see an aggro deck in your draft. But that's the beauty of Magic.)
I was going to go for an aggressive deck but realised that I might as well try his suggestion and go flying/defensive and control.
I skipped
Drana's Chosen in my 1st pack to take
Steppe Glider, then next pack went for
Relief Captain, then
Immolating Glare, after that went for
Witness the End,
Oblivion Strike... Skipped
Drowner of Hope in BFZ pack to get
Stasis Snare, then the guy passed me the pile and had another
stasis snare, was perfect...
Btw, I know it would have been better with 40 cards, but
Felidar Cub is a life saver. Most people play blue and love playing the enchantment that doesn't allow creature to untap or the one that gives -6/-0 and lose flying. In final game, the guy put that on my
Steppe Glider, then I just cast
felidar cub and destroyed it. I should of probably cut
Nirkana Assassin but kept it for ...

I'm thinking if I should keep doing the same
strategy or try a new combination... But blue gets overused at the drafts I go to, and black seem to get ignored... I have some thinking to do before next Tuesday.... I am still open to any suggestions, pointers or observations. I still want to surpass myself and 'evolve'...
