it's a stylized tree. this was tricky 'cause Selesnya already did that (as did Simic. geeze, Ravnica.)

for those wondering, the original Gruul watermark? also a tree. they changed it in RTR, but in Rav it looked like this. so the fact that our watermarks only contained one tree? definite creative improvement over Ravnica.

detail work section now includes diets. fun fact: all three of the Barbarian races at least occasionally eat other intelligent species.

I also rewrote a bit of the Council story. I'd never written it out before and I realized that on the time scale that I had, it seemed likely that at least one member would have passed away. especially given the short life spans of the Fae, I added another council member who preceded Dwimmek. Kitwik isn't a relevant part of any story that's been told so far, but she exists. or existed, she's dead now.

Do you realize that if every part of the Tidepoint Seal could be likened to a body part, Mt. Draconem would be the butt?

I do

that's kinda why I didn't liken them all to body parts.

added population estimates to the Detail Work post. for scale, Blackrock is about 10,000 square miles, roughly the size of Sicily. the others are all significantly smaller, probably between 2 and 5 thousand, with Chirom's two-dimensional area probably below that. I didn't include a count for the Worldkin because there is no reasonable way to answer that question. the best answers are probably either 6 or 1 entities, but neither of those accurately represents the scope of their presence.

the numbers are all fairly small relative to human populations in similarly sized islands. that is in part due to industrialization leading to more compact living in modern areas, in part due to the resource distribution that trade with mainland areas allows in those communities, and partly because narratively if things get too large then a lot of the connectivity falls apart.

There are a lot more bats than I would have expected, relative to the other races. How big are these bats? Are they bat size or Manbat size? Same goes for the lizards. Are they as big as lizards or the Lizard? The others I think I have a handle on. Except for the worldkin, but that's to be expected.

they're manbat sized. well, basically. I'm gonna do a whole thing of physical descriptions, but the Blackwings are probably around 7 feet and the Whitewings are about 4. Unspoken are also around 4, although generally slightly taller than the Whitewings due to their Blackwing blood. Lizards are basically the size of small humans, with adult lizards standing around 5 feet.

I went through and autocarded the legends who have cards of them already, to give y'all an impression of the characters. note that there were design constraints on the cycle and all of them serve as bi-lords for their race and class, but they try to do it in ways that evoke the character as well. also there's flavor text, and one of them has sweet art by Lunar Mystic.

added a write-up of planeswalker-y stuff. I had to leave Vella's motivations vague because I had to leave Ulrexes's backstory vague and besides too much detail about things that happened 50 years ago on a different plane isn't really relevant anyway.

I remember when I thought Ellia was the unnamed third walker. Pshh.

I started a write-up of the various Isles' ships and fleets, then stopped 'cause I was tired, but it'll get done. I'll have that for y'all. I'm about halfway through. most only have two known Ships, the two flagships from CKY's War Machines, but a couple have ships mentioned in stories and those are on the list too. ok, just Teth, but Dragonroost gets a third one as well for other reasons. I'm not including the Ringpeak Maiden because that's literally just some random boat that sank in a flavor text.

depends what you're into. Korrath is more temperate, Dragonroost is more tropical, and Telimar is like an arboretum, but those are the three I'd call "pretty". the war has not been kind to the latter two, though, so Korrath is probably the prettiest right now.

You should probably provide a link to the Ossia stories either on the isle's writeup or the first post.

is that standard for dossiers? I thought the world stuff was separate. it'd be pretty easy to do but I don't know if it's how it's done.

I have no idea what the standards are. I just wanted an easy to to track down the stories. Is there going to be one for each isle? I assumed so, but I don't think such was ever promised. As is I think I've read all the current Ossia stories.

that's my plan but I'm kinda stuck on the Blackrock one for now. I know what I want it to be but I'm having a hard time making it that.

I think Milor is the prettiest.

finished the write-up on ships. went back and forth on whether I could call a lizard hero "Qint Lavaflow" but then I remembered the Dragonroost watermark and decided that the sort of name a 9-year-old would think was awesome was exactly the feel I was going for.
