so you're saying commander decks aren't consistent? ;)

the deck operates on the idea that games will go long so he's going to draw the answers he needs eventually. then when he needs those answers again he just recurs them

And we see how well that's working out for him.

Seriously though, if the deck was going to do well, this environment the tourney is in provides the best shot. Not a lot of early pressure for him to have to deal with for the most part. He just doesn't have any answers to Planeswalkers (and what little we have, he doesn't use, IIRC).

And I'm actually still friends with the guy, lol. You just have to get used to him. Or not. Not everybody is going to get along with everybody else.

Oh yeah that video... He had it really bad there... And that's saying something. :D

Yeah, that meltdown was provided by the Canadian lucksack...lol.

Oh, man, Bitchin'Strips was all kinds of pissy that day.

I've played it to success on ladder kinda the only proof I need for it

and he's got one suppression bond I'm of the opinion that it should be a 2-3 of considering how weak he is to hexproof and walkers

If we had tutors, the toolbox approach he is using would be pretty decent. Here, not so much. And I might be 1-2 with his list. Deleted it pretty early.

Thanks, I have to re-watch it - I laughed hard too many times while watching for the first time :D I could certainly tell that you're actually good friends while listening to him though :)

Well yeah a well built commander deck is consistent, but it helps having over 90% of the cards ever made at your disposal, including tutors. With this card pool a toolbox style deck seems weak...it's got a bit of the feel of a Bring to Light deck, except we don't even have access to Bring to Light, and besides Joe Lossett I don't think anyone has even found great success with that

gg Beast, but I have a question for everyone. I was reading CGB's AMAZING commentary between games and I can't for the lift of me figure out how Planar Outburst would have dealt with Gideon. Probably stupid obvious but... help?

OK, use the Awaken ability. You wipe the board, make a land into 4/4, swing into Gideon to kill him off. You had the lands for it.

Just watched the recording. GG Beast... The screw in the first game though, damn this game sometimes. Too bad for Westaine that he didn't saw he had the solution for Gideon. I think both players played very well and it was a cool game to watch. Not a big fan of that Prison Warden though, I would trade that in for some tutelages...

So are you conceding just this round or dropping from the tournament altogether?

""Official statement. I AM DROPPING...after pairings

I'm noticing that this adapter isn't designed for this Xbox One. The motherboard (or whatever) inside is completely fried. It works fine when I just plug it in and leave my Xbox One on for about 8-10 minutes, however when I start up a game or an application I'm guess the console is performing more work and thus will draw more energy from the wall triggering the adapters new "crackling noise". Soon after that it will shut itself off. I could order another adapter but the same thing will likely happen again and asking CGB to wait 3-5 days (especially in this this weather might be longer) for delivery is a complete waste of time.""

It seems as though this round is going quite slowly. We only have 2 out of 8 games completed and pairings were posted at the beginning of the week. The next game to my knowledge is this Saturday. Every Gamestop close to me (approx 10) are SOLD OUT of Xbox One AC Adapters...which makes my life difficult. I do not trust eBay anymore, therefore I have just placed an order from Microsoft directly for their Official AC Adapter. I should get my adapter between the days of Saturday Jan 30th and Monday Feb 1st.

If I do not get my adapter by then and the next round has started, I will accept a match loss for this round. But the rules also state that you want a flat out elimination from this and future tournaments. This is a hardware issue outside of my control. Is this okay Hakeem928?
