Have anyone tried the combo Smothering Abomination + Sphinx's Tutelage + Tragic Arrogance?

why would you do that when nantuko husk is more effective, and tragic arrogance would sacrifice your 2nd and 3rd copies of Tutelage?

I haven't seen it...both abos and arrogances are double colored, difficult to cram a third one in the deck unless control type...and control usually doesn't want abos, it's more a midrange card. I find difficult to image a working deck with that combo, no offense.

Yes its not that easy to play it, but the fun factor is quite high if you get this three cards ongoing in game especially if the opponent has a huge amount of creatures - with a tutelage ingame already, you are playing an abomination and then tragic arrogance afterwards or one round after (if you have something to sacrifice)

I dont think you are rarely in the position to have 3 tutelage outside except you have complete board control before that, and even if you had 3 tutelage before casting tragic arrogance then you should already milled a huge amount of the opponent's deck i think

Also, i was thinking quite a while if theres a good competitive deck with this combo, but its quite hard to implent - although my current "fun" version (control) at the moment destroyed a thopter blue/red deck before though it took a while to get him/her down

Is anyone playing the Esper colors right now?

I am working on an answer to all the ramp decks out there with something very sloooooooow. ....

My ideas thus far:

Ulamog
Sire of Stanky Stagnation
Tutelage
All of the on color planeswalkers (maybe minus Lilly)
Spectrum (best draw self mill card)
Removal suite
counter suite
speed bump creatures
Necromantic summons

Strategy:

Have all the answers at the right time by: self mill/draw, counter spells, targeted removal or sweepers
Keep the board clean until you can deploy threats AND back them up with counter spells
Mill the poor wankers until GG

I am close to a decent list but it is by no means tuned. It lacks a good cantrip similar to serum visions. I think this color combo has most of the answers. I ask you fine people....

Am i missing any key cards?

if you want to counter a deck style you should only be slightly slower then them, looks like to me all you'll be stopping is other control decks

the nut draw for my list can put a turn five 12/12 Ulamog into play. it does not happen often but it comes around.

if anyone wants to test play a deck or two whenever let me know...I wish they would let the AI use a player selected list.

I built the deck only to see life from the other side. Drawing cards to kill the other guy and using his creatures along the way is a fun exercise. Bonus points are awarded for the big 12/12 Ulamog on turn 5. Let me know if you see ways to make it more funner.

reanimate Ulamog next turn with bounced summons.

My first suggestion would be about [ deck ][ /deck ] - As long as you don't have any other text and your cards listed with quantities, you can bring up the hyperlinks for the cards. Just a matter of convenience when discussing.

eg: (hit quote on my post and you can see how it's posted)

Now deck suggestions:

Sire of Stagnation -usually a weak card in control. You naturally build yourself to 6 mana and so will the opponent (or ramp past it) meaning they can hold off playing lands for triggers a lot of the time. Then you basically just have a 5/7. I'm assuming the card is here to create an advantage so maybe Kothophed, Soul Hoarder? It'll trigger Tutelage and you can 'control' parts of the draw now instead of relying on your opponent to help you. Same CMC, evasive and also about the same P/T.

Drana's Emissary - I'm just not understanding the fit of this card. Maybe I'm missing something but it just seems out of place. Mind breaking down this choice?

Gideon's Reproach - would you considered this over Reave Soul? Instant, will hit the same intended targets and helps keep your early mana white and blue?

In a deck full of spells; even if it's competing against Jace, I always wonder if Disciple of the Ring should be crammed in there some where.
