Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity

He needed that luck to combat incredibly good Hakeem draws. They both got amazing hands, especially in round two. Just to be clear, most people would have given up at the end of round 2. Most people would not even have considered the possibility of drawing radiant flames for the win - lucky to draw it, sure... But extremely skillful/knowledgeable all the same, IMO.

Was he purposely targeting Ruined Servitors just to increase his draw? Cuz there's no luck there, that's an actual decision he was making.

Absolutely. Especially the second time (I'm less clear on the first). He was about to tap out in desperation, then he specifically changed his choices to leave three mana up, and targeted Sevitraitor, just in case he drew radiant flames. And then he did. Lucky draw, but he certainly was going for it. He actually talks about it in his stream, and it's pretty clear in Hakeem's as well - you see him start to cast rolling thunder, then he changes his mind, then he casts the specific combination that could win him the game.

His reaction, btw, priceless.... Dumbfounded... Omg it actually worked... Silence.

It's a well played decision with a lucky ending. A blind man can see that CGB is one of the better players out there. But Hakeem played well too and had the game. CGB turned it around by a well made decision, but he was lucky that it worked. And he had to play it that way because it was his only way out. And what makes him a good player is that he saw this opportunity and tried to go for it. It payed off but let's be honest, the play was skill and the outcome was luck. Lady luck was with CGB on this one and not with Hakeem.

Oh and he's lucky again the turn after. CGB plays the Oblivion Sower which exiles Hakeem's Firecraft. If that didn't happen it would've been Hakeem's next draw which would've win him that game.

These kind of last min lucky wins are a part of magic and kind of part of the charm, although it feels like **** on the receiving end. I just played a game where my opponent only has a tutelage on board and has 11 hp. I have a number of creaturew , one turn away from killing him , and plenty of cards left in my deck. Suddenly he plays nissa's revelation , hits a desolation twin draws 10 cards , gains 10 life , and mills out most of my deck. I proceed to cry and lose the game........

Ah yaaaaaas; I love the Revelations + Tutelage combo. I used to rock with it heavy pre-BFZ.

That's it! I'm sending this cheap piece of garbage (XBOX ONE) in once and for all. My power supply unit has been completely fried. I mean come on...they built it this way on purpose so that you'd have to repurchase their $50-$70 power supply unit and hire more customer service reps. It's soooo cheap. The PS4 power supply is INTERNAL and SILENT. I've had my PS3 plugged into the same opening in the same extension cord for 6+ years and I've never had an issue. The single issue I've ever had was that my analog was worn out like a half eaten pop-sickle from playing so many COD games over the years.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to play against CovertGo Blue unless I run the risk of a fire starting from this crackling sound inside the power brick. Someone else may have to play my deck for me...preferably someone who can live-stream so I can tell them what to do. If my deck ends up winning the tournament, the money should all go towards another community tournament.

It's probably because we played mono-red vs mono-red last night. That's just asking for trouble.

What's with your recurrent power supply issues? You're the first person I've heard of having issues with that particular piece of gear. Anyway.. I wish I could help, but I've been banned of Xbox communication until 2/2.. I don't even know what for. It's either cussing on stream, or cussing out some douchenozzle who sent me taunting messages.

My power supply fried lastnight in the middle of a game with CovertGo blue. From that point I heard this crackling sound coming from my power supply.

And for anyone thinking I'm making this up or it's just an isolated issue. Google it and do your research. Microsoft used the SAME power supply from the Xbox 360 for the Xbone and because this new console draws more energy the power supply will surge or fry itself. Doesn't matter if it's inside an extension cord or not. It WILL surge or fry with extended use. Like I said...they're cheap

This sucks. Take a few days while the current round wraps up and think about it, if you still decide to trade in your XB1 let me know. If you can get another supply and chose to stick with it, I will be ready to play you. Keep me in the loop. I technically can play against you. I cancelled my account even though it renews on the 20th of Feb...I could renew it. Also, my XBOX does turn on but I only fear it may catch on fire before I trade it in to GameStop.
