I'm used to keeping two land hands when I have two colours in them. I think I should rethink that if acid Moss is prevalent. Example, yesterday I was playing Kryders gruul monsters deck. I had forest, evolving wilds and five green monsters that cost five or better. Probably a clear toss but I kept it. I drew into mana and ended up being fine but if I was against Moss, I would have been in real trouble

Yeah don't do that. But don't do it even if moss isn't a thing. :P

Yeah, it’s become an automatic for me that if I have two to five lands and all the colours I need, I keep the hand but in this specific case, that was probably dumb. I had forest, evolving wilds, two colossus, GR, hydra and um...something else that cost five or more. I hadn't mulliganed yet and it was my first game. Which means if I lose, I delete the deck. So I should have tossed. But I drew into land and From Beyond and was fine in the end. Don't know how I won that game...

Let me guess... T1 Jadi offshoot, Ts2-5 nothing. Gg Barney wins? Lol

Probably failed to mulligan an even worse starting hand. :P

He was a rank 40 that played tons of devoid stuff. Like those 0/5 guys that give extra toughness to everyone. I never felt threatened

...oh wait that was someone else. No, I was playing against allies who got three on the table immediately but I did a turn 6 ignition and that was that

I think I got mossed more times last night than I have since Duels: Origins dropped. Holy Jesus f'n Christ! I was playing on my wife's account.. and it was land, Gatecreeper, Pilgrimage, Moss, Moss, Gaea's Revenge like three games in a row.. and one of the pieces of drek even had the nerve to send my wife a taunting message.

I seriously hope this card gets taken out of the game. In previous games, 4 mana land destruction spells like Demolish and Tectonic Rift were underpowered for their cost.. but adding ramp to one of these is just too much. It's really only crippling when the person on the play curves into turn 4 moss.. but when that happens, the game becomes so damn lopsided.

I hate, hate, hate.. Moss.

I love Moss. Yesterday I Mossed, Fleshbag on opponents Liliana, then Moss, Moss for the win.
Later I was on the receiving end from another ramp deck who played first, mossed me turn 4 and could ramp up to his Ulamog before me, gg. But it's fine.

Just give me negate and give aggro more cards then we'll see if ramp wants to waste their turn 4 doing nothing

Well well well, look who comes crawling bruised and salty to my side of the fence :p

Also I forgot to reply to DJ yesterday. @DJ You said "I think you're exaggurating to say most decks you face use Green." No. No exaggeration necessary, in fact I've faced more mono Green than Gruul this week. That reliable Rogue's Passage-Outland Colossus makes the lack of removal worth it.

What would be sweet is if there was a kind of Reflect spell so you can make people acid moss themselves :D

I can't believe there is no magic card called Reflect.

Lets see if we'll get the devoid counter spell for sorceries for 1C. That should be good Moss anti-measure if it still would be a thing after the double update in April.

This is the answer right here.

Unless they botch this horrendously during the April update, we will likely see another deck rise above ramp. Be it reanimator, hand destruction or aggro. Thing is, until then it's Moss on time ALL the time baby.

If you're going to quote me... Actually quote me. That's not what I said, that's not even what I was talking about, lol.

"Moss on time ALL the time" IS an exaggeration.

It could be in every deck you see containing green, so unless every time you see green in a deck you see moss t4, I'd say that statement is a slight exaggeration. ;-)

Looks to me like you were talking about the decks containing Moss being an exaggeration, care to try again?

And it isn't. Personal experiences and all DJ, everyone's meta is slightly different.

You wrote: "[Moss] is almost universally played turn 4 regardless of if that causes the win/loss."

Which is a 'slight exaggeration,' especially when compounded by other things you have said on the subject.

I run moss in quite a few decks, so while our metas might be different, my own decks can't 'almost universally' play a t4 moss (man I wish they could though, because each turn after t4, moss becomes deader and deader).

I think you are exaggerating both the relevance of moss, and its consistency. :)

Even if every deck you face is running green, and every green deck you face runs moss, you still won't see moss on t4 all the time, or even the lesser statement 'almost universally.'

It's an excellent card, and when it works it can be devastating, especially in multiples, but let's not blow things out of proportion.

"It's the universally expected turn 4 play when facing Green." - Satisfied?

Sure :)

Or even just, 'better be prepared for a t4 moss when facing green.'
