things left to do:
Blackrock writeup Council writeup Seal writeup Planeswalker nonsense writeup a thing of physical descriptions detail work:
diets
population numbers
noteworthy ships
I think that's all I have left but if someone wants to point out other things they'd like to see I'd be happy to. I also intend to work on some folk music traditions for each Isle, but I don't need that canon right away.
*"To YMTC it up" means to design cards that have value mostly from a design perspective. i.e. you would put them in a case under glass in your living room and visitors could remark upon the wonderful design principles, with nobody ever worring if the cards are annoying/pointless/confusing in actual play

Which one is more floodable? Which one would have more surface area left after springing a leak?
hmm.
both Chirom and Blackrock have most of their surface area below sea level. if a leak were to form in the Blackridge, it would flood most of Blackrock's land, whereas if a leak formed in Chirom it would flood the entire network of caves. I suspect that the Blackridge, which would be all that remains of Blackrock, would have more area than the surface of Chirom, but I'm not sure I've defined the sizes well enough to do the calculations, and it depends on the exact nature of the leak.
as for the others, Qelan doesn't sit far above sea level so if the waters started rising it would be in trouble. Kemil, Epala, Telimar, and Korrath are all fairly flat although the Wolves to take shelter for a short while in the Calling Hills, and Epala's shores have a decent slope to them so it'd take a little while to reach them. Dragonroost would lose a lot of ground quickly but they could survive on Draconem for quite a while, although the eruptions might be a problem. Teth is massively tall, so all they'd lose are their docks at the base of the Isle for quite a long time, and Milor isn't a natural location and quite possibly would just rise with the tides, it's not really clear.

Man, a tsunami would be a major event on Ossia, wouldn't it? The water doesn't lose its toxicity upon leaving the ocean, does it? Because I'm thinking "death wave". It could be a pretty huge deal on some of the flatter islands. Heck, boats in rough seas sound pretty deadly. How big do the boats on Ossia get? Who has the most boats, the biggest boats and the best boats? (Lizards or gargoyles seem like pretty good engineers, but the trolls probably go biggest. The fae probably have a few really small boats) How are boats powered? Oars? Sails? Magic?

boats get pretty big. the trolls do indeed make the biggest boats, followed by the Lizards. the Lizards are also the best engineers in Ossia, making the fastest, sturdiest ships. Centaurs, Wolves, and Fae are also pretty good shipwrights.

I did a write-up on the history of the Council and it is just super long. it has a lot of good stuff in it though and also SPOILER ALERT Dwimmek and Barile are totes gonna get married this is a thing that will probably happen (note: that will not happen. probably.)
It would be cool if you pointed out the references to each of the Tidepoint Seal pieces in the Isle watermarks.
oh yeah those exist! I'm not sure how to work that into the narrative, but once you know the Seal pieces, most of the watermarks have hidden references. some of them are obvious, like Blackrock, but some of them are pretty subtle. and some aren't actually there. (looking at you, Epala)
Also, I made Jestopher and Basilian as heroes in the M:EM MOBA thread if you're curious.
oh, neat! I just glanced at it and had no idea what any of it meant but it all seemed reasonably in character. although I assume the characters in MOBA are capable of walking, which is out of character for Jestopher. but maybe it's Jestopher from like 15 years ago, he didn't really change much over time.

for people who just want to look at CKY's beautiful art without having to read through my boring rambling, here's all the symbols, along with a brief explanation of the intended message and, if applicable their hidden Seal piece references. note that, since these were intended to be released with FOS and the Seal was not a known story piece until WVB, most of the references are slightly oblique so as not to spoil coming events.
Teth
it's a gargoyle face. it represents gargoyles. duh. the lattice structure between the horns is supposed to evoke the Crystalmind.
Qelan
it's a scimitar surrounded by winds and waves. the curling bit at the top left is, I believe, supposed to symbolize the Wheel of Winds, albeit abstractly.
Blackrock
this should be obvious, it's a heart dripping with tar. like, come on.
Kemil
it's a rough hoofprint 'cause horses. well, centaurs. anyway, the dots are supposed to evoke the Rojan, although again subtly.
Korrath
the pawprint is obvious. the eye is either a symbol of wisdom, something the wolves value deeply, or a reference to the Whisperstone as the eyes of the Seal. you choose, America.
Telimar
it's a stylized tree. this was tricky 'cause Selesnya already did that (as did Simic. geeze, Ravnica.) but I think this one manages to be different enough from either of those. there's no real Greenvine reference although I guess the shape of it is kinda vine-y, in a meandering way.
Milor
this is a top-down view of the Isle with the Veil of Milor around the outside and the Crystalline Chamber within. (not to scale. or accurately shaped, really. it's stylized. it's art.)
Epala
it's a rose surrounded by thorns because SYMBOLISM. politics yo. anyway CKY insists that the radiating leaves are beacon-like so ok that's an Arahi reference.
Chirom
this is a bat wing scratched into a cave wall. it looks kinda skeletal but that's ok. it's not really a direct Echoes reference, in that the Echoes are much more intricate than that, but it's something that would be scratched into a cave wall so it's a fit. we went back and forth on that little cross line in the bottom left, CKY didn't like it but I really did so I talked them into keeping it. (potential slight dramatization of events.)
Dragonroost
it's a cartoonish lizard. I was a little wary on this at first because it's so childlike but I think it captures the innocence and permanent adolescence of the lizards' existence. are the curvy things on the sides supposed to be bones, CKY? they look a bit like bones.
