Shipwreck Singer

I'd be OK with the Boon too, but it seems like blue/black is free, or at least someone to our right is aggressively into white and red.

Really wishing we had the WB guy at this point, but meh. Singer is a strong card, but I'm not a fan of being in 4 colors after 5 picks.

There's been a number of green cards going around, maybe should move into the color, but may also be too late. Voyaging Satyr is a very strong pick, but Fellhide Minotaur is also in color.

I vote for the Minotaur, however, and hope that white is heavy Pack 2.

The thing I don't like about Voyaging Satyr is that there seems to be a small window where it's useful - but during that window it's amazingly useful. After that, it just doesn't do enough. Shipwreck Singer is a fine card at almost any point of the game, so it's my choice.

White has been dry in every pack after our first pick, so I think it's time to give up on it.

Red has had solid cards in all but this pack, so I'm not ready at this point to say it's being cut. This could just be a dry pack for red.

Green seems wide open.

I'm on the fence on blue. Other than the vaporkin last pick, I haven't seen anything that jumps to me, so I have a feeling blue is being drafted upstream. Only reason we're seeing shipwreck signer here is because it's blue/black.

So I'm hesitant. Obviously, white is out, but do we want to jump on the green train while we still can, do we want to take a chance with blue, or do we want to take an on-color card and stay open.

This is tough. I'm going to take Shipwreck Singer because I love the card and like blue in this format, so I'm going to gamble a little. It's dangerous though, because if it doesn't pan out, we could end up playing only 2 of our first 5 picks. Hopefully we can build some almost mono black deck, so the lack of blue will not be too much of an issue.

I'm not a fan of this pack, and since white is dry, I'm afraid Last Breath is gonna wheel into someone already cutting white. I'd hate draft it just to get a removal spell off the table.

Last breath is barely playable. Not something I'd waste my time hate drafting.

It's between Shipwreck and Felhide this pack, and I think I'd risk Shipwreck.

Singer. Low risk, high rewatd. Still opportunity to pick up good blue stuff

Fellhide might wheel. Hopefully Phalanx from pack 1 wheels!

As usual in this format the signals are a mess. I just take the best card here, shipwreck singer. Hopefully we can get enough black that we can use any any other color as our secondary (assuming we get more green).

Boon and Fellhide are playable but one of them will wheel and if not there are plenty more.

Boon. Lets go all in heroic.

We don't have heroic to go all-in with, and all-in'ing heroic with only one actual good card for it so far sounds terrible.

I'm not sure how good singer really is, but I like the look of it better than Boon right now.

My psychic powers say we will be getting heroic cards.

God this. So many synergistic cards that require context to appraise quality that makes it hard to read signals.

But I still think the pick is Fellhide Minotaur. I'd rather have a 3CMC 2/3 we WILL play instead of a sweet UC we MIGHT play.

I don't always make responsible Magic-related decisions, but when I do, I'm probably drafting.

Felhide for me as well. I think we ought to start sending signals, and I want to send "Black is closed" to our left for a better pack 2.

I think the right choice here is to continue sticking with the Disciple of Phenax and other black cards.

Pretty weak pack. Disciple is decent enough and plays into the black devotion strategy.

Notice the complete lack of blue.
