I think they had pictures of her before. There was some costume contest or maybe just costumes.

Don't believe the hype. There IS no community. Which is why the "Community Cup" team was preselected by them without input from any of us.

Well, at least we can discuss the article.....nowhere.

My (least) favorite quote: "...one of the things that goes a long way towards making Wizards feel more human and less like some soulless, monolithic corporate entity."

I call that a fail.

I'd call it symmetrical irony. Also hi Trea. Long time no see. :D

They didn't like posting in their official message board. At least they didn't like posting in the MTGO section. We got a post about every six months replying to someone mentioning how they don't check there. It usually went like this:

Quote:
:( We will work on that. We do really see all your feedback.

It is confusing for new players that the community team is so large but rarely sees any action. The team should be closed so that efforts could be consolidated on areas with more action.

Keeping the community team around makes no sense. It would be like having casual niche formats available on MTGO. You risk that some players get invovled into something (i.e. the community or niche formats) which sees basically no activity. The community team activity makes up less than 1% of what it should be. And we all know what happens to stuff below the 1% threshold.

Reading the profiles it seems like the team gets some cool experiences and are meeting some cool people. However, I fail to see how that will create a community.
The team is our voice inside WotC.... I find it surprising that the community needs a voice at all. The objectives of WotC and the community should be identical?

First, Improve communication and transparency. Second, .... we will never get this far anyway.

The "community team" has been dead to me since 2013.

It was around Oct/Nov 2013 that the blogums (blog software as forum) started. I think Bubba has a different bone to pick as well, though.
