Found this article somewhat amusing in its tone:

http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/ar ... 2015-12-16

They seem pretty pissed off about not being able to control their own information. Are they only now realizing the "community" they seemed to want to be built externally from their website are not going to show any loyalty at all?

Like this quote:

"As a person who used to run a fan site that would occasionally leak something, I know the lure for content creators. Leaks draw traffic and they give you something new to talk about. But let's get one thing straight: leaks aren't journalism. Publishing leaks is purely self-serving, looking out for the good of yourself and your ego."

So, is he saying that he used to do this when it benefited him, but now that he is on the inside it is wrong for anyone else to. This, to me, displays the overall hypocritical managerial thinking that goes on inside that place.

I would hate to be an intern at WoTC while this witch hunt to find the internal leaker, got to feel upper management doesn't play fair.

Yeah that doesn't sound like fun. But not entirely unexpected. They have to find a way to control their information better.

Since he contributed to leaks, I wonder if he is banned from the DCI? You know, when he is not working for the company he did this to.

Did it also seem like he was saying that the cards and story are pretty weak so they need the build up to get people excited about everything?

That was also my impression.

I don't really care about the story, my interest is simply in how the set plays in limited. But I think this is stealing intellectual property, and I hope they prosecute whoever is responsible. Looks like some DCI bans are already in place.

A lot of judges are protesting WotC's decisions regarding this leak, it seems http://apps.magicjudges.org/

I totally agree with the things said on that link. WOTC overreaches far more often as of late as if pushing boundaries to see what will and can be tolerated. Hopefully they won't implode in the process.

From the link above (talking about WotC):
"In the meantime, given their noted prowess with technology, I have no doubt an alternative location for event staffing, communication and community discussion will be up and running quickly."

If only I could spot sarcasm when I see it :)

Looks like they found some resolution to the problem.

Elaine's a good egg. (I remember her and her Husband from States one year at NG. They were very nice competitors. She won, he came in 3rd, my Deck piloted by my friend came in 5th.) I am not surprised she is the one that wrote the conciliatory article. I am a little surprised she was allowed to. It seems to me like the good guys/gals at WOTC have been operating with 3 limbs tied behind their backs lately due to some internal strife/rules.
