I'm keeping an eye on this thread at least. I'm usually indisposed on Fridays and Saturdays, though. Just so you know I may not post again today.

If you need someone to fill the gap I'm interested. Had my eye on this but it was already full when I found it.

I'm familiar with D&D but the LMoP thread with Garren is the first time I used any of the rules properly, though feeling pretty good about it now. Since then I started a monthly online table top game too. Really just looking to experiment with different characters. I always play druid/magic/nature types (in video games mostly) so happy to try something new.

Happy to play whatever character is needed. But if there's anyone who's really new and would benefit more form this I'm happy to sit out too.

@Island, we don't need a 5th player, I'm mostly just keeping the 5th slot open if someone shows up that could benefit from learning the rules of D&D (ultimately the point of this introductory game).

Going into the holiday season I won't time to run a game like this, so rather that start it off and then not be able to continue for some time I am instead pushing the start time back until the new year. I have an adventure ready for you guys I just won't have the time to run it much in the coming two weeks.

Absolutely (the whole point of this thing is to introduce new players to the game after all). We won't get started until the new year so you have a bit of time to make up a character. If you need help just let me know.

Sounds good! I see there are some resources posted earlier in the thread, so I'll just roll stats now and start drafting up a character over the next few days.

Minor update. Right now I'm looking at a Human Cleric aligned to Trickery Domain. Before I get too deep into the roleplaying elements, I just wanted to confirm if Tymora is an acceptable deity for me to align myself with, and to ask if there's any information on the setting I can look at to help fill in backstory details.

If it helps, I just used what I'd absorbed from the cultural zeitgeist of the D&D world -- which is to say, I know next to nothing of the world and wrote my character's backstory with a generic fantasy world in mind.

Sorry for the delay—I'm finally buckling down and finishing this character. I got a bit sidetracked trying to write a long, detailed backstory before giving up, so I just used the default character sheet as a guide to keep me from getting too wordy. I think this gets the point across fairly well, but if I need to provide more information just let me know. Once I get some feedback I'll probably transcribe the information to a Google doc like some of the other folks have done.



I'm not sure how combat-ready my character is, so I would be open to making some changes for the sake of efficacy if you feel it's necessary. I may also have missed a modifier here or there.

All good Turin, no worries. I wasn't able to start this game over the holidays anyway, and now seeing as I will be starting up a massive mafia game in just a few days I still can't start this (the mafia game has my full attention right now, and will until it is well underway).

I will probably start up this game, provided we haven't lost our players, by January 15th, at this rate.

Hey, looking back through this thread: I'm super-interested in this as someone who only has a passing experience with D&D (a few one-offs back in college, for the most part only very loosely based on the actual rules of D&D). If you've got space or the inclination to squeeze a relative newbie in (or if you just need another character on deck), I'd love to take part in this.

Hey Johnny. At this time were kinda on hiatus for a few weeks while I get my Mafia game off the ground.

After that we should resume this and if you want to roll up a character in the meantime go ahead. That puts us at 6 which is slightly above my comfort level but I'm okay with it if it means teaching someone new.
