The twin is a trap most times...costs as much as Ulamog, and I would never use From Beyond to fetch him over Ulamog. Devastator comes out earlier, tramples, and generally is good.

Breaker of Armies does exactly opposite of what I want to do...damage the opponent. Sure, it wipes his board or forces them into uncomfortable attacks, but the Devastator does the same thing usually. At least that what it has done in 5 games I've actually drawn the guy. But Breaker has never really done it for me, either.

The last game in your latest video is exactly how most of mine go. I'm stripping lands all game, ramping and I still draw nothing but more land. It is so frustrating knowing I have all these amazing cards in my deck and the game just refuses to give me access to them. I have subsequently gone down to 24 mana in all my ramp decks and have yet to regret it.

That was the first time I have been flooded like that in well over 20 games with that deck. Hell, I don'the think i'very ever been flooded out like that ever.

If I was playing against any other deck but IzzetThopters I probably would've lost.

So here's my take on Selesnya Ramp/Control. Faired pretty well in testing. May still need some grooming, but I think it's on the right general track for now.

Selesnya Ramp

White: 7
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
2 x Planar Outburst
2 x Tragic Arrogance
2 x Emeria Shepherd

Green: 25
4 x Blisterpod
4 x Elvish Visionary
2 x Evolutionary Leap
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2 x Reclamation Sage
4 x Natural Connection
2 x From Beyond
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Woodland Bellower
2 x Nissa's Renewal
2 x Gaea's Revenge

Colorless: 2
1 x Oblivion Sower
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

Land: 26
12 x Plains
10 x Forest
2 x Canopy Vista
2 x Sunpetal Grove

I probably have nothing to add to this discussion really. I like the control elements over lifegain, and I think Blisterpod plus Evolpea make for a great second option tutor after From Beyond. Other than that, hope you all enjoy the deck.

Live the dream earlier... recur Greenwarden with Emeria. It is ridiculous. Plain, Warden, Evolpea, rinse and repeat. /dumb

Btw, control wrecks this, and mono green. Beware, be very aware.

This is my second best list.. my wife and I have both been playing/testing it and it kicks ass. Wins in the 90% range.. loses to flood a little.

3 x Jaddi Offshoot

4 x Gatecreeper Vine
4 x Elvish Visionary

4 x Nissa's Pilgrimage
2 x Retreat to Kazandu

2 x Retreat to Emeria
2 x From Beyond
1 x Gideon

2 x Tragic Arrogance
2 x Planar Outburst
3 x Angelic Edict

1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Oblivion Sower

2 x Emeria Shepard

2 x Eldrazi Devastator

1 x Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger

24 x land
4 x Evolving Wilds
2 x Sunpetal Grove
2 x Canopy Vista
9 x Forest
7 x Plains

No moss needed. I have enough stuff that procures land already.. it's actually bordering on too much in a lot of games. The deck gains a crapload of life, and the Offshoots/Gatecreepers block well in the early game. The token synergies are there with Gideon, From Beyond and Retreat to Emeria.. Retreat to Kazandu can permanently make them bigger too. Gideon + Emeria Shepard is bonkers.. you can continually recur Gideon and make tons of emblems, making your tokens pretty imposing. I had a bunch of 5/5s the other night.. but even having 6 3/3s swinging in is a lot for most decks to handle.

Eldrazi Devastator is a pretty solid card. Trample with a big butt is a strong setup.. I'm never going to tutor for him, but I'm always happy to draw him. He wrecks boards and life totals.. consistently outperformed Breaker of Armies, which surprised me.

The only thing I miss from Gruul is Rolling Thunder, bc it's so hard to deal with Planeswalkers in this deck unless you go wide or trample.. or just Ulamog dat ass (which is what happens most of the time).

k, cool. I'll definately try out your Azorious. Even after you were only 5-0 with it, I had a feeling that was going to be great.

This Selesnya build looks really good, I just told a player or two about it.

Alright...took Mega's Selesnya out for a spin tonight and posted it on my YouTube page. Went 1-3.

Here's what I played:

3 x Jaddi Offshoot

4 x Gatecreeper Vine
4 x Elvish Visionary

4 x Nissa's Pilgrimage
2 x Retreat to Kazandu

2 x Retreat to Emeria
2 x From Beyond
1 x Gideon

1 x Tragic Arrogance
2 x Planar Outburst
2 x Angelic Edict

2 x Oran-Rief Hydra
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Oblivion Sower

2 x Emeria Shepard

2 x Plated Crusher

1 x Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger

24 x land
4 x Evolving Wilds
2 x Sunpetal Grove
2 x Canopy Vista
9 x Forest
7 x Plains

I talked with Mega beforehand and put in some changes he made, also changed the Eldrazi Devastators from his original list to Plated Crusher.

OK, pretty much had no luck at all tonight with the deck, just never had the answers. The deck drew lands like crazy, which saved me in my one win, but normally sucked. I was Acid-Moss'd in at least 2 games, if not 3, and one guy got 4 lands from me with Oblivion Sower right after, then cast Desolation Twin. Yeah, not winning that one...

The last game I should have kept the first hand, ended up going to 5 cards. I was doing ok, but I Planar Outburst too soon, and that ended up costing me. Not sure if I would have pulled it out even if I had waited, but I would have stood a better shot.

It is a fun deck, but it really needs Acid-Moss...most of those games it would have helped turn-back the clock on my opponent and put me back in the game, IMO. Getting set back 2 (figurative) turns just kills the deck, IMO. Once I got Moss'd, I felt like I watched the game get away from me, even though I had land.

Anyways, check out the video to see the deck in action and leave any comments you so desire. Thanks!

:(

If you want the Moss.. run the Moss. I tried slotting in a little Crusher + Primal Bellow shenanigans earlier tonight and it wasn't good enough.. even with Bellow hitting for +8.

You need Chandra's Ignition, it works wonders. Especially with a pumped Oran-Rief Hydra or the hexproof Plated Crusher

It's a game winner every time I draw it. Clears the board, hits the face, massive damage. And Oran-Rief Hydra grows to 10+ in a matter of seconds with all the ramp, by the time an opponent casts fe. Desolation Twin the Hydra is bigger and you can OTK an opponent.

And Naya isn't bad thanks to the colour fixing from Mwonvuli Acid-Moss as both Cinder Glade and Canopy Vista are forests. So you get ramp, fixing and LD in 1 card, much more value :-)
