So I finally got the game in my hands and started out with Naya, as I feel like it's the best colour combination for BFZ. As I suggested, I'd play Chandra's Ignition because it's a game winner and it is every time I draw it. To accomodate for that I made some changes to Manbaby's list.

Here's what I'm playing:

3x Jaddi Offshoot - just insane
1x Nissa, Vastwood Seer - is ok
2x Radiant Flames - wasn't really useful most of the games, but I keep it in case I meet a lot of aggro
4x Nissa's Pilgrimage - ok
2x From Beyond - hasn't been that useful tbh, as I ramp with other spells and usually prefer to cast something else. I'll probably replace it with something fat
4x Mwonvuli Acid-Moss - best card in the game ;-)
1x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar - ok
2x Planar Outburst - ok
2x Angelic Edict - useful from time to time
2x Chandra's Ignition - game winner every time I draw it
1x Greenwarden of Murasa - ok
2x Oran-Rief Hydra - great card, trample + huge ignitions
1x Oblivion Sower - great value
2x Nissa's Renewal - I'm on the fance with it, usually with 7 lands in play I don't really need it, I might change it to something else. With added fats maybe Nissa's Revelation to replenish my hand
3x Plated Crusher - great card, best Ignition target, as it can't be bounced
1x Omnath, Locus of Rage - is ok, just value
1x Ulamog, the Ceasless Hunger - value
2x Desolation Twin - nothing spectacular, but hard to deal with and good Ignition target after combat
24 x Land

I did test Emeria Shepherd but just I also came to the conclusion that it's not really great, as my bombs are hard to take care of and I usually don't have many permanents in my graveyard.

Auunj,

A couple of things to note in your list.

First off, jump up to 25 lands. You're playing large creatures with high casting costs, you'll need it.

Since you are playing a 3-colour deck, Natural Connection is a better fit than Nissa's Pilgrimage so you can get your colours straight.

From Beyond is not there to ramp you...it is the 2nd and 3rd copies of Oblivion Sower and Ulamog. Use it as such to search them up.

Nissa's Renewal is way better than Nissa's Revelation...Renewal never whiffs. Even with all that fat you have in there, you'll whiff more often than not. Renewal is a constant 7 life and 3 basics (if there are any left in your deck). Plus, Renewal works well with all the landfall triggers you have in your deck.

Desolation Twin is a trap card. It looks great on paper, then it just sits in your hand and you a) can't cast him, or b)you cast Ulamog instead, in the majority of games. I have what I call the "From Beyond" test...to see what big Eldrazi to run, what would you tutor up with From Beyond? I haven't found a situation where the answer wasn't Oblivion Sower or Ulamog, dependent on mana availability. I would cut those with a quickness.

Finally, I would think about putting 1 Emeria Shepherd back in. Her ability to get non-land permanents back is a game-winner in mirrors and close games.

Those are my thoughts on this. Have a great day!

I think you are right with most of your points but I disagree with you on this one. I think drawing an additional 1-2 Lands off Pilgrimage is much better than the color fixing from Connection.
Especially in Naya where you got good mana already because yo can fetch all colors from Moss.
Sure if someone tries to Moss-screw you off a color Natural Connection is good, but so is getting additional lands off your Pilgrimage to recover from Moss and get to your lategame.

Also Emeria Shepherd is a card that looks great on paper but has consistently underperformed for me in testing.

Your opinion is noted. However, from experience and playtesting, in a 3-color (and some 2-color) deck Natural Connection works better, especially in a meta with Acid-Moss. When you already have the mana to cast either one, you have to ask yourself...do I really need to get another 2 forest or would I be better off with 1 or 2 plains/mountains in play? Most of the time in this situation the later is the correct answer.

But everyone has there playstyle...if Pilgrimage fits yours better, nothing wrong with it. But since we don't have fetches, I'd run Natural Connection every time in this deck.

As far as the Shepherd, she breaks stalemates in your favor and can bring you back from behind. If you are ahead, she is seriously win-more. I'd run 1 for the just-in-case moments, personally.

I just feel like I always have all the colors I need with 4 Evolving Wilds, all the Dual-Lands, Moss and Nissa's Renewal.
But I often have to keep 3 land hands where I won't be making my normal land drop every turn up to 10 and Pilgrimage helps a lot there.
And if someone Mosses me it's often the setback of not having more lands to play out rather than the color screw that is hurting most in a ramp deck. (Most threats are green / colorless)

My point is that if you are getting moss'd and they see you are playing 3 colors, they shouldn't be hitting the , especially if they see you running Nissa's Pilgrimage. If they do, they deserve to lose. :D

After Nissa's Renewal, it really doesn't matter if they moss you, you should be colored all up. All moss will do there is delay big creatures (possibly) for a turn or three, but in reality, at that point, Moss has lost most of its effectiveness.

I prefer pilgrimage over connection because of the plus 1. If I want fixing, I run Gate Creeper, for the same reason. The only way I'd ever run Connection is for landfall trigger on the enemy's turn.

Thanks for the tips Kryder. After some more games and your comments I did put 1 Shepherd in (it does allow to win from behind etc.), sticked to renewal, kept the From beyond and added the 25th land. I sticked to pilgrimage as I share Nevius' view on that card vs connection :-)

I dropped the twins as i never really want to cast them and prefer to finish the game faster with hydra and crusher or ignition.

Saw it wreck opponents live on stream (early stages of BFZ on xboxone tho), didn't keep maths but seemed fun and efficient. Gonna test this list for sure ! Thanks for the share. ;)

I think that Naya Allies is actually great in the meta, which is trying really hard to force Eldrazi to happen. It's fast enough that it outrushes ramp decks and it's actually flexible enough to beat most other aggro decks like RDW.

I'd suggest adding the lifelink ally and cutting some of the converge guys. Add some finishers (I am playtesting Might of the Masses and Infuse with the Elements). I suspect it should be quite effective.

Hey man thanks for your feed back :) I'll give your suggestions a go. Just one other question. I've been thinking on taking Gideon's Reproach out and exchanging it for more cheap red removal?
How do you think that would workout?

If you do that (which isn't a bad idea), you'd have to change the mana base a bit to accommodate the higher mana in the deck. The deck is very nice since it has only 1 card with double mana costs, so it shouldn't be too drastic a change.

So here is my Naya Allies Deck. A slightly different version went 4-1 last night, but I have since improved it, both from a mana base and a function perspective. Like my other allies deck (here: Mardu Allies), this is really just for fun, but unlike my other allies deck, this is a serious contender in aggro midrange. I'm not kidding, when this thing gets going it feels like a battering ram against your opponents dome. So without further ado:

Naya Zoollies

White: 15
1 x Kytheon, Hero of Akros
3 x Elite Vanguard
3 x Cliffside Lookout
3 x Kor Bladewhirl
2 x Felidar Cub
2 x Vryn Wingmare
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar

Red: 3
3 x Firemantle Mage

Green: 11
3 x Undercity Troll
2 x Evolutionary Leap
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 x Reclamation Sage
2 x Woodland Wanderer
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Woodland Bellower

Multi-Color: 7
2 x Veteran Warleader
3 x Citadel Castellan
2 x Munda, Ambush Leader

Land: 24
7 x Plains
1 x Swamp
1 x Mountain
2 x Forest
2 x Smoldering Marsh
2 x Cinder Glade
2 x Canopy Vista
2 x Rootbound Crag
1 x Sunpetal Grove
4 x Evolving Wilds

Thoughts: I am uncertain wether this is the right balance of Cliffside Lookout, Felidar Cub, and Elite Vanguard (I currently have a split 3/2/3 but I really can't decide). The bottom line is that early pressure is a big deal, and despite its 1 CMC cost Cliffside Lookout is more of a late game play in this deck, so I'm seriously undecided. The problem is I'm running out of time to test, before I go overseas on vacation, so this is where I think this deck will rest (not sure I'll have easy internet when I'm gone).

How to play: The mana is set up in this deck to go t1 plains, t2 forest, t3 mountain. In the event you need to tutor, you should be setting yourself up to get those lands in play by those turns under most circumstances. For example, it's sometimes better to put a land into play tapped on t1 in order to ensure the curve (this is only if you don't have a solid t1 play - e.g.: Kytheon or a Vanguard). The deck is already set up for any combination of Cubs, Lookouts, and Vanguards you may choose.

Why the deck works: in essence I'm going for the biggest on curve creatures I can play (realistically) in these colors, and allies to boost them. Your ally is basically always your last play in hand. Definitely play a cub or a troll t2 over bladewhirl, as a t3 whirl will drive damage in, and possibly allow your troll to get Renown bonuses. Speaking of renown, it's a subtheme of this deck - and it works nicely because you have a lot of ways to make your creatures either unblockable or force your opponent to block your creatures in a 1 sided loss.

Thoughts on cards: I've already discussed the big hanging question mark for this deck, but there are a couple other things. 1) the black mana is in the deck purely for Woodland Wanderer. I'm not sure if this is the right decision, and I have yet to even see the card in play. If the mana feels clunky (it doesn't to me, but still... IF!!!), it may make sense to pull all black mana from the deck. I don't think it's necessary, but I am certainly considering it. 2) I am not certain that this deck can get away without having any reach. I really don't know what I'd pull - possible the Castellans, but man that's a tough one for me to swallow. I haven't felt the need for direct damage, but the deck runs red, and I could see a lot of reason why I might eventually put some in. If anyone takes this for a spin, definitely let me know if it feels like there is a problem, and I'll make an effort to recommend an adjustment to the pile. 3) Bellower is in here mostly to tutor for Warleader, but it doubles as Reclamation Sage as well. 4) Murasa gives us some tiny bit of protection against sweepers, much better when they fix the exile bug. 5) this is the first deck where Vryn Wingmare actually made sense to me (it's a massive FU to both ramp and control, and who really cares if evolutionary leap is a 3CMC play?.. If you have Gideon in hand, obviously consider playing him first.).

Anyway, I hope someone takes this for a spin. Good luck if they do. :D

Here's what I'm playing:

3x Jaddi Offshoot
1x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2x Radiant Flames
4x Nissa's Pilgrimage
2x From Beyond
4x Mwonvuli Acid-Moss
1x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar

2x Chandra's Ignition
1x Greenwarden of Murasa
2x Oran-Rief Hydra
1x Oblivion Sower
2x Nissa's Renewal
3x Plated Crusher
1x Omnath, Locus of Rage
1x Emeria Shepherd
1x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
25 x Land

I like this list a lot. What is your current land mix?

I'm glad you like it, the mana list:

3 x Plains
2 x Mountain
8 x Forest
2 x Cinder Glade
2 x Canopy Vista
2 x Rootbound Crag
2 x Sunpetal Grove
4 x Evolving Wilds

If you face a lot of aggro, you can switch Omnath and Shepherd for 2x Woodland Wanderer and have a 5/5 on turn 4 and Ignition on 5.
