Just went 15-1 with my burn deck. It's to the point that I finally deleted my red agro (which was awful) and my RDW which retired 28-1. I honestly think the burn deck is just way better. It lost to mono red after getting flooded. I always felt in total control of the other matches. Whereas with RDW I was making sick top decks

Probably a dumb question, because it's you, but are you joking? 28-1 seems a little unrealistic and I'd like to see a dedicated burn deck that compensates all the lifegain.

He's on Xbox One.. we don't have BFZ yet. I updated my Temur list but I don't see any point in talking about it.. it's all about the BFZ now.

You obviously haven't been paying attention.

Green got a 0/3 one-drop that gains life whenever you play a land.. and a 4 drop enchantment that gains life whenever you play land.. and a 7 drop that tutors 3 land, puts them in play tapped AND gains 7 life. Green is also the most popular/powerful color. So yeah.. mono red burn is going to be completely and utterly obsolete.

You need to go watch Legend's and Nighthawk's videos. They've been very eye opening into what we have coming to us.

They're sick in a ramp strategy that has access to 4+ sweepers. Makes aggro almost impossible to play. Gruul gets Radiant Flames + Ignition, Selesnya gets Planar Outburst + Tragic Arrogance, Golgari gets Languish + Rising Miasma. So they just ramp, gain a ton of life, blow up your key land with Moss, sweeping you when they want, then drop a bunch of hexproof bombs like Gaea's Revenge, Plated Crusher.. THEN comes the Eldrazi.

This is what the Steam guys are bitching about. That's their meta.. +RDW.

I don't know why you think those cards are bad. They buy time for ramp decks.. and time to ramp is exactly what they need. It also forces aggro to overextended into sweepers. Open your eyes bro.. this is what's coming. The only one of those cards I think is not THAT strong is the 7 mana one.. and it's still pretty strong, especially with a Retreat in play. You need to familiarize yourself with the Retreat cards too. Every color got one.

The 1-drop is Jaddi Offshoot.
The 3-drop enchantment is Retreat to Kazandu.
The 6-casting cost sorcery is Nissa's Renewal.

Used together, they really set aggro back to the stone age and allows you to cast a turn-6 Ulamog.

Mono-red is not obsolete...but, like I've said previously before B4Z dropped, it isn't all that good. You'll still get some nut draws and get in wins against people who are not doing the lifegain strat, but Jaddi Offshoot is pretty much in every deck worth mentioning. Retreat to Kazandu and Nissa's Renewal are not as prevalent, but they are out there.

LOL...hell, that's even worse. Not sure how Barns could amass that good of a record off of those cards.

Yeah, that deck is DOA with B4Z, even with Rolling Thunder in the mix.

Mono Red/Boros/Gruul aggro really needed Zada, Hedron Grinder. It would've been quite a difference maker, even if it's just a one-of.

Yeah, if your opponent does absolutely nothing but play lands. Most will not, and will interact with you and your board, at least throwing blockers out if not removing those threats.

@Mega, Zada would have been pretty damn amazing.

Some thoughts: It's fast enough, and can handle a lot of the realistic builds you will encounter in the long run. Had a decent record, and will do well enough. But, RDW still needs about 8-12 cards from another set to be the real deal. It's at least good enough now, IMO, to bother building a deck. But, it's not going to be in the top tier yet.

Note: devoid doesn't trigger Chandra. I mention this because it came up and it probably lost me the game. Don't make that mistake. Other than that, I'm pretty certain Firemantle Mage is a great card, in this and many other builds. Keep it in mind - not just for RDW.
