so I did this a while back and I held off on submitting it but then I forgot to do it and now here it is

the lyrics are already in the archives, this is just the arrangement

Ol' Smokey Comes
Lyrics by RavenoftheBlack
melody and arrangement by razorborne (based loosely on a melody by Raven)
status: I think public unless Raven wants it private for some reason?

also don't be mean about my voice

I'm sorry to say that this rendition doesn't really appeal to me. I can't really say why, but I think the general quietness of it might be a factor. I can't bring myself to say Nay, and I can't specify a NAI vote, so I'm going to just abstain from this one.

yeah the mixing isn't great, I'm not an audio engineer so the whole thing comes out super quiet compared to Red Jackie. if that's what you mean, I could probably go re-edit it, I still have the files. if it's something else like the bareness of the arrangement, especially to start, I'm probably less likely to change that 'cause that was intentional and I think important to the atmosphere I was trying to create. but if it's just a mixing thing I can almost certainly fix it.

I meant I can't say why because I don't have the appropriate musical knowledge to even properly identify what I dislike about it, much less communicate it in a meaningful way.

well, the overall volume level's been bugging me anyway, so here's but with the output pumped so the whole thing is just louder. I recognize that may not have been your problem but figured I'd provide it anyway.

Oops, I though I voted on this already!

Definitely a "Yea" from me. I particularly like when the percussion comes in for the final verse, which has always been my favorite of the verses anyway.

Good work, and thanks!

yeah, I wanted it to be a slow build but I had to get the thundering drums in somewhere

My non-expert opinion is that I'm a fan. Much like Raven, I'm a fan of the percussion. :)

"Yea" from me.
