It is October 1960, five years since the Crystal Empire was defeated by the Indigo League in the Oceanic War. Under the Treaty of Viridian, Kanto was placed under military occupation and separated from Johto by the Tohjo Wall. Now, Kanto is recovering from its wartime devastation and developing into an industrial power, but is still plagued by unrest and scarcity. Who knows what lies ahead in these changing times?

Edward "Eddie" Ovmoth (Rubik)Eddie is a talented young investigative journalist for the
Kanto Daily. He's secretly infiltrating Team Rocket for a feature article on the shocking true lives and horrendous deeds of Kanto gang members.
Talents: Getting the scoop; fast-talking people; analyzing the situation
Nature: If Eddie is anything, it's curious. If Eddie wants to know something, he'll do just about whatever it takes to find out.
Flaw: Eddie's stubbornness often gets him in trouble.
Goal: To report on a career-making story.
Star Pieces: BondsHal seems pretty reliable and he's got a healthy level of skepticism for someone in this line of work. Can't imagine why he'd put himself and his brother in danger by joining Team Rocket, though.
Noel seems like a nice kid. Shame that he's gotten mixed up in this thing.
Team Rocket are crooks, no mistaking it. Lieutenant Becker in particular seems pretty nasty. Hopefully they don't catch on.
The Indigo League's philosophy of treating Pokémon as equals really strikes a chord. Cautiously optimistic about them. At the very least, they seem a lot better than the Crystal Empire.
FloBrave Farfetch'd ♀
Loyalty: 2
Bond: Ed and Flo are both coworkers and friends.
Special Traits: Flo knows the Fly HM. She can use her leek to draw things from memory.
Halwood (Garren_Windspear)Hal is the older brother of Noel. Since the boys lost their parents in the war, he's dedicated himself to looking after his brother.
Star Pieces: Talents: Holding my own; being tough as an old boot; knowing the responsible thing to do
Nature: I'm super serious. People are depending on me now - I can't let them down.
Flaw: I'm slow to trust others and suspicious to a fault.
Goal: To keep my brother safe and happy regardless of all else.
BondsEddie refuses to think things through, just acting on impulse and trying to wing the results in his favor. I'm still not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Noel is my brother. I'll do anything to keep him safe. Even if it means working with the Rockets.
Rick is just another job. Though he did give me a Pokémon...
Team Rocket are crooks posing as the good guys. They pay too well to ignore though - the lesser of two evils.
The Indigo League just replaced one overbearing empire with another. Best to just stay out of their way.
IrohLoyal Growlithe ♂
Loyalty: 2
Bond: Iroh is both my best friend and my loyal companion. He's been with me almost as long as Noel has.
Noel (Mown)Noel is the younger brother of Hal. He stays optimistic despite being separated from Dible, his Trapinch, and losing his parents in the war.
Star Pieces: Talents: Being innocently charming; garnering sympathy; staying hidden
Nature: I have a carefree personality. Things always tend to work out in the end.
Flaw: My naivete gets me into trouble. The world of grown-ups is often confusing.
Goal: My life's dream is to become like my brother. He's been my idol since I was young.
BondsEddie left with the Indigo League and my brother. I don't know what he's up to, and I don't like thinking about it.
Hal is my only family, I trust him completely.
Rick is just like all the other grownups. Without him, Hal would still be here.
Team Rocket seem a bit sketchy at times, but Hal wouldn't have enlisted us if they actually were.
The Indigo League have caused us a lot of trouble. I wish someone would tell me why.
NapRash Mareep ♂
Loyalty: 2
Bond: Nap is overprotective of me.
Professor Richard "Rick" Hornsby (Zinger2099)Rick is a foreign engineer who vowed to build a fully mechanical Poké Ball after Maggie, his Nidoran, died from an Apricorn-triggered illness. He's supplying Team Rocket with Apricorn Balls in exchange for research funding and machining equipment.
Star Pieces: Talents: Jury-rigging contraptions on the fly; mechanical and electrical engineering; sheer bloody-minded persistence
Nature: I have a driven personality. I am dedicated to making my dreams a reality.
Flaw: My lack of common sense gets me into trouble. I might be an expert builder, but decision making is not my strong suit.
Goal: My life's dream is to invent a better Ball for catching Pokémon.
BondsEddie leaves me unsure. My only real encounter with him is one of failure. How were they caught so quickly? The Indigo League must have been looking specifically for Eddie's car, which makes me wonder if Eddie is trustworthy at all.
Hal is an unknown factor. Reserving judgement until after Toby has been returned to me safe and sound.
Noel is just a little kid. Not sure what he's doing getting involved in this mess, beyond the fact that his older brother is dragging him along through it all.
Team Rocket is a means to an end.
The Indigo League is a bunch of overbearing self-righteous pricks.
TobyTimid Magnemite
Loyalty: 2
Bond: As a wild Pokémon, Toby sensed the grief Rick was going through when his first Pokémon passed away. Toby chose to befriend Rick in his hour of need and comfort him, and they've been together ever since.
Currently with Noel.
???Sassy Zubat ♀
Loyalty: 1
Bond: Klaus' Zubat might be a sassy, attitude-fuelled rugrat, but she is directly responsible for getting Rick out of a jam, and the two were able to work together quickly and efficiently under dire circumstances. Strong respect has been built.
Belongs to Klaus the Rocket Grunt.
