Well Justice my sarcasm meter is broken, so I ain't detecting anything.

Well he was bouncing or whiping all the stuff I was reanimating, but he wasn't doing much but cast some weenies. So I just went with the Jace + endless chumps+ skaabwave plan B

Milling with emblem is fun; in the arozius build (which still sucks hard vs aggro) I faced some strange sultai retreat lifedrain build. I just emblemed jace and got him back with emeria angel; never did find my tutelages :D Opponent quit after I flashed back Arroganc the turn after I had emblemed Jace, played a plains, and brought back Ulamog's Reclaimer, fetching a bit of draw starting the mill procedure

Spoiler

Sure jace is generally there to bring value, but in control mirros, ultimating him is and excellent wincon.

Before reading your blog, I'll say that I disagree with ditching skaab. 6 mana fog is better than 7 mana fog (once, greenwarden is bugged)/miasma/Ob Nixilis.
Undecided about offshoots yet. You re probably right.

/ will now read your poetry.

I dunno about going to one Skaab CGB. Skaab + Fog and Skaab + Languish are what keeps this deck alive long enough to finish the game. Also not too wild about cutting Read the Bones for Artificer's Epiphany.. being able to dig for what you need is more valuable than instant speed IMO. Is the mana good enough that you can forego Telling Time now? It'd be nice to have those 3 spots for other things.

All to be tested guys, running with my gut and a little of last night's Lurkin' research, we shall see. I feel like we need some room for Ob Nix, Warden and Part the Waterviel, all pricey cards, and I think Skaab is closest to the chopping block. I don't forsee needing Skaab/Fog for six as much or as early with the game involving more ramp, and Miasma is extra protection against going wide. Don't discount an early Jaddi's ability to gain you the life you need to survive more attacks as well.

Yeah but Skaab fog is what made sultai tier 1,5 to begin with. Unless you think people will stop running aggro at all, renouncing on that package is just denying the biggest strength of the deck. And from what I've been playing, after Gruul, RDW or white based aggro are the most played decks in the format.
Pre bfz, the artifact epiphany package was preferable to me to RTB for the same reason.

Here's what I've been playing since BFZ dropped and it's been doing VERY well.

1 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
3 Gatecreeper Vine
1 Shadows of the Past
3 Reave Soul
3 Jorubai Murk Lurker
1 Liliana, Heretical Healer
3 Fleshbag Marauder
1 Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2 Reclamation Sage
4 Read the Bones
3 Gravedigger
2 Languish
1 Kiora, Master of the Depths
1 Possessed Skaab
2 Cruel Revival
1 Ob Nixilis, Reignited
1 Sire of Stagnation
1 Part the Waterveil
1 Gaea's Revenge
2 Island
8 Swamp
3 Forest
2 Lumbering Falls
2 Sunken Hollow
2 Woodland Cemetery
1 Drowned Catacomb
2 Hinterland Harbor
1 Golgari Guildgate
2 Simic Guildgate

Any thoughts or criticisms (other than the fact that it's not a mill deck :P) would be appreciated. I'm new here. Thanks!

I think this deck was decent pre-B4z. Since the expansion, I don't think it can be as competitive as I'd like to see in a deck I play often. Look over the list - what is a good answer to Ulamog? Desolation Twin? Greenwarden of Murasa? The threats just got better and this deck has the same answers from origins. I would make room for counterspells, and I'd try to find a way to quickly win the game before eldrazi take over your life. There are more, and better, planeswalkers in the game now, so you need better threats to pressure them. Winnower? Priest of Bloodrite? Kothophed? Maybe alhammoret? Aligned Hedron Network? I am not sure what the best answer is to be honest, but the deck needs better answers or more proactivity.

Fleshbag handles Ulamog pretty well. Cruel Revival getting back Fleshbag also handles Desolation Twin. Greenwarden dies to all of those things as well.

I don't disagree with the countermagic suggestion. I'd like to slide a couple of Scatters in to the deck to be honest, but can't find the room.

Winnower may not be a bad suggestion, it was in my old list, but got replaced by Ob Nixilis and Sire of Stagnation. I feel like Kothophed and Alhammoret just aren't good enough finishers.

Ok in response to snider, this is how I would handle the deck:

Brilliant Superfriends

1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
4 x Gatecreeper Vine
3 x Gather the Pack

1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 x Reclamation Sage

1 x Radiant Flames
2 x Scatter to the Winds
1 x Spell Shrivel
3 x Titan's Presence

3 x Brilliant Spectrum
2 x Languish
1 x Rising Miasma
1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths

3 x Necromantic Summons
1 x Ob Nixilis, Reignited

1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Oblivion Sower

2 x Ruin Processor

2 x Breaker of Armies

1 x Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger

4 x Island
4 x Swamp
4 x Forest
1 x Mountain
2 x Lumbering Falls
2 x Sunken Hollow
2 x Woodland Cemetery
1 x Drowned Catacomb
1 x Mortuary Mire
1 x Rakdos Guildgate
3 x Evolving Wilds

There we go. We got some lifegain, some enchant hate, 3 walkers, TECH vs Ulamog, and we get to draw our deck.

Untested. I think it looks totally brilliant though.

I dont get why people run Brilliant Spectrum over Inspiration or Read the Bones.
Sure seeing 4 cards can be awesome but I prefer not needing to have 4 colors or having instant speed.

Well the Idea is that this deck has massive graveyard recursion. Jace + summons + mire + warden. So spectrum doesn't cost life, and allows you to almost draw 4 in this deck.

If you're running 4-5 colors, the card is insane. That is an incredible amount of draw for 4 mana, even if you do toss 2 cards.

It's value diminishes if you are only playing 3 and is pretty much a filter at 2 mana and you're probably better off with Read the Bones/Inspiration there.

It's basically Bitter Revelation without -2 life, and you can (I think) discard from your hand as well.. not like Bitter Revelation where you have to discard from the 4 you drew (if I read the card correctly).

If I'm playing a more controlling build, I'd much rather have the scry+draw over the draw+discard, even if I do have shenanigans for my graveyard. You're still seeing 4 cards if you're trying to dig for a specific answer and you get rewarded by not having to jump through hoops with a shoddier manabase for the same payoff.

@Rabblemaster:
As far as that four-color build goes, it looks neat, but Titan's presence doesn't seem like the greatest card imho. Forcing yourself to have 2 cards in hand just to deal with one card is awfully rough and can get you in to trouble. Something like Fleshbag is a much more efficient answer to Ulamog, especially when you have multiple ways to re-buy it in your deck via Gravedigger/Skaab/Cruel Revival.

Just got beat by someone playing a sultai sacrifice deck.
He killed me using Nantuko Husk + Whirler Rogue combo, making Nantuko Husk unblockable and then saccing everything.
Seemed like an interesting deck. Maybe someone wants to try building it?

He had:
Whirler Rogue
Nantuko Husk
Smothering Abomination
From Beyond
Carrier Thrall

As far as I remember.
