Hello everyone, I am Tevish Szat, resident Introductions & Off Topic thread creator. Please allow me to welcome you here.

If you are new here, then I think it is good to start with a little history. These forums began in September of 2013 in response to the state of the official Wizards of the Coast forums. It was, in a word, untenable. The software used then, the policies of moderation, and many other things aside drove us to leave. But, at the same time, many of us had become friends there, and we did not want to say farewell. Thus, we all went to the same place.

I am writing these words in the immediate wake of the events described, knowing they shall likely endure when the dust of ages has settled over all that is described. But, our origin speaks in some ways to our goal here. We wanted to create a place where community could survive, flourish, and grow and we would not to have to fear dissolution at the hands of a power that was unaware what it had on its hands and of the damage it was doing.

Ultimately, I feel that if this place is to survive and flourish, we must stay close to our roots, which is to say a community. So, whether you came with us in the diaspora or found this place later, I welcome you. Whether you consider yourself a Vorthos already, or are just poking your head in to see what the fuss is about, I welcome you. It is my sincere hope that you will come to consider these forums a place of at least some amusement, and its peoples to be friends, as I am sure they shall come to regard you. So, please take a moment to introduce yourself, perhaps to read the introductions of those who have gone before. I am sure there will be quite a lot of chatter -- feel free to join in however you see fit. This place is our home. I hope it shall be yours as well.

As such, I would ask at this time that you treat this place as what it is. Please, regard your fellows with respect, and, this may seem a bit of an odd request: while criticism of work is perfectly reasonable, it will not be considered acceptable to make personal attacks against authors or artists. While we are a small group now, we do hope to grow, and we would rather like the people who write or illustrate for Magic: the Gathering to feel like they are welcome here as well.

Again, you can consider this place your home, just so long as you can remember it is home for others as well.

Welcome Home.

~

As of November 2015, when we incarnate this thread for the fourth time, the home many of us came from has passed entirely. Whether you had roots in the Wizards of the Coast official forums or not, whether you are now returning, a refugee from the end, or a newcomer entirely, we are pleased to welcome you here.

~

There are a few things that came up in previous threads that I want to mention. Specifically, I am going to make the bold assumption that most of us here would like to be friends with most of the other folks here. So when you go to post a reply, take a moment -- just a moment. Enter the full editor, hit preview post and read what you've written. I would like to believe that most people are pretty good and have a pretty good sense of what's appropriate or not, if they take that moment to look at what they mean to say. I hope we shall not have to change the thread rules to make certain topics off limits, because I think this community is full of intelligent people who can have good insights into just about any matter.

First Thread (Welcome Home)
Second Thread (Wrath of Welcome)
Third Thread (Beyond Welcomdome)

Greetings all, to this, our home,
And so I'll write another poem,
To celebrate our lovely haven,
You may know me; call me Raven,
I write in prose and verse and rhyme,
And can be found (most of the time)
Along with friends together banded,
Within the Multiverse, Expanded.
We journeyed from our flooded hovel,
Wrote stories, poems (and yes, a novel!)
I hope you'll visit, read, and share,
'Bout all the things we've posted there,
Or join along this flavored part,
Discussing storylines and art,
And so I welcome all the crowd,
To where No Goblins are Allowed!

Welcome! I am TPmanW. If you are new here then please know that I am the most important person on these boards. This thread only got created because I requested it be done. I have been immortalized in prose. I have died and come back to life enough times that I have lost count.
But please, do not feel abashed. If only nongoblins of my calibre were allowed here I would find myself without company, so come old hands and lurkers all and bid your boardmates welcome!

Hi.

I'm Cato.

I pretend to be arrogant to cover up my own feelings of inadequacy.

Please don't hurt me.

Heh, making up lies about one's self to cover up a deep-seated insecurity. What a thing to admit to.

I'm Yxoque. I'm generally pretty nice, but nowadays I'm just tired all the time.

I'm Pepper. I haven't played MtG in ages (should really change that). I don't post as much as I should (should really change that). I'm Temur and I like learning, stories, nature, and tea.

Hey I remember you from Super Mario Bros 3! You really were evil.

I'm not even in this fandom anymore really!

I don't consider that true.

My distinction is that you are a part of the fandom if you actually engage with the fandom in some capacity, and not just with fellow friends who happen to share the same passing fondness of something, like when you discuss the newest episode of some show you and a friend are watching. For instance, I consider myself a fan of Doctor Who (and I guess a casual fan at that) but not part of the fandom because I've neither interacted with any part of the fandom (as far as consuming fan media goes) nor really entered any discussion about it aside from talking with a few friends about superficial things like when I first started watching the show.

I would still say you're part of the fandom, but it might be by using my own dictionary.

EDIT: is there something going on in Paris at the moment?

Oh wow, this is the first time I've chanced upon the first post/Welcome note of this thread. It's so poignant.

Nevertheless...

Hi, I'm Moppi. Full-time Vorthos observer and below-$3-Angel-Collector. Refugee from the Wizards Official Forum/Mothership from year 2007.

I love angels and beefcake. I like to litter some GIF reactons here and there.

Nice to meet ya~! ^_^

I can't remember what I said in The Welcomedome, but I'm Jman22. I don't play much magic anymore, but I love me some cube. I started using the WotC forums in... I think 2004? I dunno.

Anything else about me is kind of pointless to bring up, because it is rather dull and disappointing.
