This brawl, for what it's worth, is a lot more fun when it's Unstable Portal.

The pool of beasts is overall quite crap and limited and unfun to play with. There is a pool of about 40 beasts. Out of those, Captured Jormungar, Maexxna, Savannah Highmane, King Krush, and Gahz'rilla are disproportionately high value. On top of this, a pool of only 40 beasts, versus 100s of minions, means you are likely to see a lot of the same cards over and over when you are getting 10+ random beasts per person per game.

I don't know, I've enjoyed a lot of the games I've played that don't involve Dreadscale. although trying to finish Paladin quests with it is painful, the paladin cards all kinda suck for it. but Druid's fun. but screw Captain's Parrot.

That is interesting and I really hope it will open up new design space for future Tavern Brawls and maybe a real co-op mode... I won't get my hopes too high, though, since moving Mechazod up and down really seems like a workaround to keep the usual interface for something that would benefit from a new one. But if at some point we get something along the lines of MtG's Archenemy, I'll probably spend a lot of time in it.

yeah the more I think about it the more I hate the "win or lose" thing. I mean, I guess it's so that you don't get screwed by being paired with someone who sucks, but in normal brawls you always have the possibility of getting screwed by being paired with someone who's awesome. that's the nature of randomness.

eh, maybe it's because the pairings are done so that people with similar records are getting paired up, so if you start losing you wind up getting paired with worse and worse partners, making it harder to win. and maybe flipping the algorithm for this brawl would be harder than they wanted to do.
