I always felt one of the best Orzhov removal packages was the combo of Reave Soul and Reprisal. They completely cover each other's weaknesses. Before everyone tells me, hurr hurr Reprisal is a dead draw all the time.. I think we should look at that scenario more closely.

What is the meta? Gruul Monsters, Golgari Control, Thopters, RDW, Voltron decks.

The only one on that list that Reprisal is weak to is Thopters.. and it still kills Esperoza in that matchup. It flattens Gruul Monsters, where Reave Soul kills Elvish Visionary, Myrs and Gatecreeper Vines only.. it obliterates the big plays made by RDW with Titan Strength and the red auras, it puts Voltron decks on their ass, and it kills Golgari Control's finishers except Gaea.. but you have access to Celestial Flare AND Fleshbag if you fear Gaea. You also have Languish in these decks to cover your weaknesses to Thopters.

I don't feel it's a bad spell at all, especially if you're running Reave Soul.

I wasn't even thinking about reprisal to be honest, but I like your reasoning and I think that since its so cheap and it has speed that it would work pretty well in this meta. It doesn't cover all the bases that edict can though which is the main reason we had It in to begin with.

If anyone said that Reprisal and Reave were bad, then they are likely bad (and they should feel bad).

Between flare and bag, you kinda hit everything.

Yeah, Reprisal is very playable in this format; and with the current meta, no-one expects it.

Not too shabby, I have something silmilar but more killy. The thing I note is you do not have enough lands. You need at least 26 in a 60 card deck like this.

I am aware of the low mana sources... I migh try swapping something for the Natural Connection. But so far I don't know what to cut from in. Retreats are the core of the deck and I don't know how much removal I need to get the retreats rolling (Wich feels great, doesn't it?). Might cut one Fleshbag Marauder and Cruel Revival... Any suggestions? :P

Edit:
-1 Celestial Flare - Never actually had to use it. You can block Gaea's Revenge with tokens and it doesn't help against enemy Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
-1 Planar Outburst - Deck likes to flood with those 1/1 Kor Allies buff 'em and give 'em deathtouch, so I don't think there's that big need for 4 sweepers)
-1 Cruel Revival - Have been sitting on too much removal lately.
-1 Fleshbag Marauder - Same reason here.
+2 Rot Shambler - Kina questionable card, but I think this deck needs some cheap creatures in case you're not drawing to the Retreat to Emeria. Elvish Visionary could also fill the spot tho, or even Gatecreeper Vine. Or perhaps a Jaddi Offshoot, that could deal with a lot of early aggression while healing you.

The list Kryder is working on atm feels great to pilot! Lot's of synergy and blowouts possible, and I've beaten a lot of Gruul midrange with it. I'll wait for him to post his version up though.

This Kryder is out and about getting my xbone. Will post my list when I get home in about 2 hours.

Glad you like it, 3B. I like to gain life and it does it well.

OK, here is the Azban decklist I've been working on.

Warning: If you like to do something before turn 3, this is NOT the deck for you. I have nothing to do but play land until then. :D

1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
3 x Retreat to Kazandu
4 x Natural Connection
4 x Read the Bones
2 x Suppression Bonds
2 x From Beyond
2 x Languish
2 x Rising Miasma
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
2 x Planar Outburst
3 x Angelic Edict
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Oblivion Sower
2 x Nissa's Renewal
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
2 x Desolation Twin

4 x Plains
5 x Swamp
5 x Forest
2 x Shambling Vent
2 x Canopy Vista
2 x Woodland Cemetery
1 x Isolated Chapel
1 x Sunpetal Grove
4 x Evolving Wilds

OK, quick notes on my choices:
*I chose Retreat to Kazandu over Retreat to Hagra because of the increased lifegain and the ability to put on counters, especially on our lands. Hagra might actually BE the right call, though, since it still offers life and kills the opponent. Might be a personal call
*Rising Miasma is mini-Languish, helpful for the early game weenies and helping get another threat on the board late game. 2 has been a good number for me, giving me 6 early sweepers in the deck against aggro.
*I noticed an issue if my opponent got out an early Planeswalker I was usually just sitting around watching it get ticked up (Kiora, *cough*) and dropping it's ultimate on me. Where I won that game anyways (Desolation Twin X2 trumps that Ultimate), I'd rather just not deal with it. In 2 X Suppression Bond
*Greenwarden of Murasa is a card that, if you are playing , you should be playing it. Just too good.
*Nissa's Renewal just makes the deck. Instant boost and lifegain. If you happen to have a Retreat out, it just gets SO much better...
*Angelic Edict is a card I haven't been impressed with in Duels, although I loved it in Duels 15. With all the fat Eldrazi running around, plus a couple of enchantments we're better off not dealing with, it's a welcome inclusion over Complete Disregard I had in its place, which usually sat in my hand.

Anyways, give it a shot and let me know what you think.

Looks like an interesting deck, though I hope they fix Murasa sometime soon (lol as if) because it's 2nd ability doesn't work right now.

I would like to fit so many of those into my deck... But damn... I don't want to sacrifice the retreat theme. But just looking at how good those are makes me want to play the whole playset of Felidar Cubs. So far I'm not too pleased with Natural Connection. It's a good ramp card and the landfall trigger is amazing, but so far it felt like a too slow of a card. But I guess you need some instants to fully utilise the potencial of From Beyond. Also Gideon, Ally of Zendikar just feels like a 4 mana emblem wich gives your creatures +1/+1 and I don't think your deck can generate that many tokens to utilize it.

Here's the modified version of Kryder's list I've gone 10-2 with. Less ramp, more options to stall the board out.

1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2 x Retreat to Hagra
1 x Retreat to Kazandu
2 x Titan's Presence
4 x Read the Bones
2 x Nissa's Pilgrimage
2 x Suppression Bonds
2 x From Beyond
2 x Languish
2 x Rising Miasma
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
2 x Planar Outburst
3 x Angelic Edict
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Oblivion Sower
2 x Nissa's Renewal
1 x Gaea's Revenge
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
2 x Desolation Twin

4 x Plains
6 x Swamp
5 x Forest
2 x Shambling Vent
2 x Canopy Vista
1 x Woodland Cemetery
1 x Isolated Chapel
1 x Sunpetal Grove
4 x Evolving Wilds

Changes:

Retreat to Hagra - Still a 2 life point swing on trigger, but it affects your opponent too which is always useful when playing early turns so passive. I love the potential damage Evolving Wilds and Renewal can get from this. Quite unexpected from your opponent a lot of the time.

Titan's Presence - Ulamog sitting useless in your hand whilst you stare down an Outland Colossus for swing? Have a cheap, instant-speed exile. Deals with pretty much anything in the game, and I haven't lost a game yet due to this being in hand vs just an Eldrazi.

Nissa's Pilgrimage - Just a preference thing TBH. The instant-speed and choice of land isn't something that's affected me too much vs playing this on turn 3 when nothing else is needed. You can do fine without the swap.

Gaea's Revenge - Purely as a finisher. I love playing Desolation Twin and then Gaea's the turn after, making it real hard for your opponent to deal with after a board wipe. The immunity to counters is still making this a priority over Plated Crusher for me. May as well read "8 damage to face".

Overall Thoughts:

I love how much synergy this deck has, the blowout from Nissa's Renewal (particularly with Retreats on the board) is insane! I've comeback from a few games on the brink of death purely down to that card, it almost feels a bit like Reno Jackson in Hearthstone atm. This one card just flat out kills aggro decks if cast on turn 6. Gideon also plays something more akin to sarkhan, the dragonspeaker here as a 5/5 indestructible swing most of the time, although his 2/2s can stall the board out as well (ultimate isn't needed). This deck feels good to play vs midrange as well, even control has a hard enough time unless it's running black removal. Any deck running Red really will have a trouble dealing with anything this deck wants to do, however mill can ruin your day quite easily. I think Kryder might be on to one of the "next big things" with this deck so far, honestly is very consistent. Bravo sir!

I haven't had that issue. I know you can select your own Greenwarden when you are selecting the second time around...maybe that's the issue?

Gideon is kind of a dark horse choice. I hardly ever use his "Ultimate", instead I like pumping out a few Knights and use him for a beatstick. If nothing else it gets my opponents off my back while they try and deal with him, thinking he's essential. If you find another spell at least as good as him there let me know, he's been doing well for me so far.

Why thank you, sir!

Question, how's the ramp working for you when all of it only goes and gets your 5 forest? It seems kind of bad.

I am on the fence about the different Retreats, but I think Retreat to Kazandu is the right call. Your not going to kill people with Retreat to Hagra 99% of the time, and the lifegain difference is ridiculous and has saved my bacon a game or two so far. I mean, really, who cares if they are at 20 or 15 when your end game is swinging with 10/10s?

Also, keep an eye out on the Selesnya thread...I have something I brewing I'll post there probably later tonight or early tomorrow. Haven't had a chance to test it quite yet.

You're welcome :D

Yes and no, getting the forests out of the way early can be a blessing (and you tend to keep a land in hand with the amount in this deck for Nissa anyway), I haven't had a mulligan yet where I've thought "dam, too much green".

You'd be surprised. I've had Ulamog Act of Treason > Sac'ed, Desolation Twin countered and then copy exiled etc whilst they've sat on 2-5 life. Along comes Evolving Wilds/Renewal and boom! You win through any counterspell they might be holding up. I'd take that over sitting at 40 life with no response any day.
